Chapter 217: Chapter 217 Arrogant Second Young Master_1

The meal ended quickly. After that, Zhang Xian and his group left the restaurant and drove to a local police station in Yantai.

The influence of He Zheng exists around this area. Though not exactly a gang in the real sense, he has considerable sway in those parts and is quite chummy with the police.

The director of the precinct is a middle-aged man in his forties who is balding and wears glasses.

When He Zheng indicated that they needed to detain somebody, he didn’t say anything. However, when he heard that they wanted to detain Ji Yonghao of the Ji Family, he shook his head vigorously.

Observing this, Zhang Xian asked: "Does the Ji Family wield such big power that no one dares to come after him, even after a hit-and-run?"

The precinct director was somewhat embarrassed but said nothing.

Forget about trying to detain Ji Yonghao, attempting such a stupid act would only end up offending people. Would he dare to do something like this?

"Brother Xian..." He Zheng looked awkward too, "The Ji Family holds a significant amount of power in Yantai. A small district police captain like myself can’t do anything to them. Even if we arrest him, we will still have to let him go in the end."

Zhang Xian nodded, showing no sign of giving up. Then he led He Zheng to another precinct.

He Zheng, puzzled, asked, "Brother Xian, what’s your plan?"

Zhang Xian wiped his nose and said: "We are going to report this to the police, of course! Just because Ji Yonghao is a rich brat, doesn’t mean the police can ignore it. You should know what to do, right?"

He Zheng was taken aback for a moment, then started grinning. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

Seeing that He Zheng understood his intention, Zhang Xian took out a cigarette and offered one to him after he hung up the phone. He then put one in his own mouth.

"Thank you, Brother Xian." He Zheng looked frightened as he took the cigarette and hastily lit it up for Zhang Xian.

The others also reacted in the same way, their trembling hands taking the cigarettes as if Zhang Xian had handed them a huge cheque.

"Look at you guys, terrified as though I’m going to eat you up," Zhang Xian scorned.

He Zheng and the others looked a bit embarrassed upon hearing this.

Mainly because Zhang Xian had created a huge impact on them earlier, they were still somewhat scared. Zhang Xian seemed to them like a high and mighty figure, out of their reach.

"Vroom..." Shortly after, quite a few motorcycles approached them.

Several young men jumped off the bikes as soon as they arrived and ran towards Zhang Xian, greeting him respectfully, "Brother Xian, Brother Zheng."

Zhang Xian nodded but said nothing.

It wasn’t long before more and more people arrived. He Zheng’s crew had already gathered around 60 to 70 people.

Spotting that their numbers were sufficient, Zhang Xian waved his hand and led the crowd into the precinct.

"What are you guys up to?"

A policeman was surprised to see so many people arriving.

"Nothing much, just reporting a crime." Zhang Xian gave a light laugh and led his people deeper into the precinct.

Noticing several dozen people entering the venue, a number of police officers in the station gawked in surprise. An elder policeman stood up and asked: "What are you people here for?"

Zhang Xian replied: "We are here to report a crime."

The policeman asked: "What crime are you reporting? And why are you bringing so many people along?"

Zhang Xian responded: "Comrade, there’s no prohibition on the number of people to a report, right?"

The policeman paused for a moment, shaking his head: "No, there’s not."

"Then it’s all good, isn’t it? What business of yours is it how many people I bring?" Zhang Xian laughed and added: "Let’s get onto the main issue now."

The policeman frowned, "Okay, sit down and be clear about the case."

Zhang Xian casually sat down and detailed the events of the accident and provided information about Ji Yonghao, the driver involved.

The cop, who was initially indifferent while recording the report thinking it was just another typical criminal case, abruptly changed his demeanor upon hearing the name ’Ji Yonghao’. Upon hastily finishing the record, he stood up and said, "Sir, we have accepted your case and will investigate it as soon as possible. We will get back to you quickly. If you don’t have anything else to add, please go home and wait for the news."

Zhang Xian replied, "Comrade, we are in a bit of a rush. Can’t you bring him in for questioning first?"

The policeman responded, "That’s our job to handle. Yours is to go home and wait for the news."

Zhang Xian replied, "You guys don’t seem to be very busy. We have reported the case, and you have accepted it. We are still waiting for compensation on our side, shouldn’t you start handling it promptly?"

The policeman responded, "We told you, that matters would be arranged."

"What arrangement? Do you need an arrangement for this? We’re not asking you to settle the case directly, at least you should bring the person in for questioning, right?"

"Yeah, when did this precinct become so mighty? We even have to plead with them to handle our affairs?"

"Damn it, what the hell is this precinct? Are you acting like gods here?"

Under He Zheng’s instigation, the members of their group began shouting discontentedly, throwing verbal jabs without restraint.

The policeman’s face darkened, "What do you guys mean by this? We’re taking care of your case, why are you causing a ruckus here? Are you trying to start a rebellion?"

"Oh my! This is terrible!" A member of the group immediately started yelling, "We’re just asking for an update on the case, and this policeman is saying we’re rebelling, like he’s going to arrest us."

One minion chimed in, "Damn, can’t live like this anymore, getting arrested for reporting a crime. What the hell kind of police station is this?"

"Screw reporting the crime, let’s just go. I refuse to believe there’s nowhere for us to get justice." Yet another rabble rouser shouted. "We came to report a crime, why are we being treated like criminals?"

Seeing the crowd beginning to cause a ruckus, the police quickly lowered their attitude and tried to calm the situation with a gentle tone.

Other cops also rushed over, not daring to show off.

Under the constant jeers and jabs from the minions, the police couldn’t come up with a strategy and could only proceed with the operation. They needed to bring Ji Yonghao back for questioning.

Zhang Xian couldn’t help but sneer as he saw the police could do nothing with his crew.

This is the power of the masses. If it were just them alone, the people at the sub-bureau certainly wouldn’t care about them. But with dozens of people here, they couldn’t contain them, hence the need for compromise.

...

In Yantai, inside a luxurious KTV room.

Ji Yonghao was enjoying himself, surrounded by several rich young men and a beautiful woman in his arms.

After taking a sip of wine, a young rich man asked: "Yonghao, I heard you hit someone with your car last night. What happened?"

Ji Yonghao replied: "Well, there was a minor collision last night. But they were just some street vendors, nothing serious happened. Why would I be bothered?"

"Just a street vendor?" The rich man young man laughed: "Ha-ha, that’s indeed nothing, they wouldn’t dare come looking for trouble with you, Yonghao."

Another rich young man also laughed: "Come on, let’s keep drinking. Even if he killed a street vendor, it’s no big deal. Don’t let these troublesome affairs ruin our mood for drinking."

Ji Yonghao laughed and raised his wine glass.

The rest of the young men did the same, acting as if someone’s life was just a blip that didn’t quite matches up to their wine-drinking mood.

"Knock, knock, knock..."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Ji Yonghao frowned, and gave the woman next to him a look.

The woman got up, ran to the door, and opened it. She was a bit surprised when she saw police officers standing outside and instinctively stepped aside.

"What’s going on?" Ji Yonghao looked annoyed when he saw that it was the police.

It wasn’t that he was afraid, but he had just been boasting in front of his friends that no one would dare to trouble him. Immediately after, the police showed up. Wasn’t this a slap in his face?

"Young Master Ji, uh, we have something to discuss with you. Could you come with us?" The captain walked up to Ji Yonghao and humbly asked with a bow.

Zhang Xian sneered again at the sight of the officer’s politeness.

Of course, he didn’t expect these policemen to do anything with the young master of the Ji Family. His aim was simply to provoke the government officials and bring closure to Du Xinyan’s case.

With a serious face, Ji Yonghao asked: "What are you trying to say? Why do you want me?"

"Well, it’s like this." The captain began to sweat, "Someone has reported that you hit someone with your vehicle last night. We’d like you to come back for questioning."

"You bastard..." Ji Yonghao was enraged. "Who the hell are you to take me back? Who told you to come?"

The captain looked distressed it. He bowed his head and whispered a few words in Ji Yonghao’s ear, followed by a bitter smile: "Young Master Ji, we had no choice. We hope you will co-operate and come with us."

Hearing these words, Ji Yonghao glanced at Zhang Xian and laughed coldly: "Kid, you know what you’re up against? You’ve got guts!"

Zhang Xian just touched the tip of his nose and said nothing.

One of the rich young men asked: "Yonghao, what’s going on? Are the police taking you away?"

"Nothing. Some idiots caused a huge scene at the police station. The officers felt helpless and wanted me to cooperate." Ji Yonghao replied while turning toward Zhang Xian, sneering, "Kid, I’m not afraid to tell you the truth. Yes, I’m the one who hit the person. What can you do about it? Do you think these police officers can do anything to me? I have to say, you’re really naive."

Zhang Xian just smiled slyly and said: "Others may not be able to do anything to you, but I can."

"Ha-ha..." Ji Yonghao looked startled for a moment, then broke into laughter: "Guys, this guy says he can punish me, what do you think?"

"What? This piece of shit dares to say he can punish our young master?"

"Ha-ha, kid, you’re so badass, does your mom know?"

The young men all burst into laughter as if it were the funniest joke they had ever heard.

The women on the side also giggled, as did the policemen who walked in. In their opinion, anyone who thought they could handle the young master of the Ji Family was delusional.

Zhang Xian ignored the surrounding laughter, turned around, and walked out.

"Young Master Ji, please." The captain smiled and gestured, "Consider it a visit to the station for tea."

"Guys, I’m sorry. In order to cooperate with police work, I have to go to the police station." Ji Yonghao laughed. "Let’s go!"

"Go soon and come back soon, we’ve got more plans later!" the young men laughed.

"No problem, no problem." The captain laughed and told the young men: "We’re just inviting Young Master Ji for a walk, it won’t take long."
