The Supreme Wild Young Master -
Chapter 174: Challenge of the Taekwondo Master_1
Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Challenge of the Taekwondo Master_1
The seven-day karate and taekwondo training has begun, and the appearance of two handsome instructors caused quite a stir in the school.
Some boys were eager to learn a move or two, flocking to the Taekwondo Society and Karate Society. Meanwhile, some girls were excited to catch a glimpse of the so-called ’legendary’ masters of taekwondo and karate.
It must be said that the owners of these two martial arts schools have a good business sense. They knew how to capture the hearts of the students, managing to sprinkle a touch of idol charm even onto their martial arts schools.
When Zhang Xian arrived at the school, he heard some discussions about these taekwondo and karate masters, which he considered nothing more than nonsense.
Were these guys here to instruct or just to show off? They had yet to start their classes, yet their names were already on everyone’s lips, putting even the famous celebrities to shame.
"Brother-in-law, those two ’masters’ seem more popular than you! I bet the Taekwondo Society and Karate Society are already packed full of students." Zhu Yan said with a laugh.
Zhang Xian simply smirked, not bothering to explain.
While scanning the area, he spotted Wen Yulan. He chuckled and said, "Teacher Wen, good morning!"
Upon seeing Zhang Xian winking at her without any hint of subtlety, Wen Yulan blushed and briskly walked away towards the office.
"Hey, that trick seemed to have worked. She doesn’t dare to stare at me any longer." Seeing Wen Yulan scramble away, Zhang Xian chuckled while touching the tip of his nose.
Zhu Yan frowned and pinched Zhang Xian’s side, "Brother-in-law, is there something going on between you and Teacher Wen? Are you fooling around behind my sister’s back?"
Zhang Xian brushed off her hand and responded very earnestly, "Nonsense, my relationship with Teacher Wen is purely professional, not what you’re thinking."
Zhu Yan pouted, "Really? But something seems off."
Zhang Xian spoke seriously, "Of course. How could you doubt your brother-in-law like this? Let me remind you, don’t go making up stories in front of your sister."
Zhu Qing nibbled on her fingertip and kept pace with Zhang Xian.
...
The morning passed quickly.
As soon as Zhang Xian sat down in the cafeteria, a group of people came over, clearly heading for him.
The two leading the group looked quite decent, with clean and fair skin. They were wearing karate gi, complete with white headbands as if they were Japanese martial arts masters from a TV show.
With their hands crossed over their chests and heads held high, they strutted around as if they were the only hunks in the world, overflowing with conceit.
Xia Xiaohua clenched her chopsticks tighter and said to Zhang Xian, "Hey, it seems that those two masters are here for you."
Zhang Xian glanced up, then continued to eat his meal without replying.
Xia Xiaohua pressed, "Hey, shouldn’t you react somehow? These two guys are now the big shots on campus. If you act too arrogant, your classmates won’t take it well."
Zhang Xian shrugged, "Does an elephant need to care about what ants think?"
Xia Xiaohua slapped her forehead, too exasperated to say more. Sometimes Zhang Xian was modest, other times arrogant beyond belief - an unpredictable character.
"Boy, you must be Zhang Xian, right?"
The taekwondo master approached Zhang Xian, looking down at him with disdain.
Zhang Xian continued eating as though he hadn’t heard the taekwondo master’s comment. He wasn’t interested in playing into these guys’ hands and serving as their attention-grabbing prop.
"Smack..." The taekwondo master slapped the table, sending the bowls jumping, "Are you bloody deaf?"
The sudden noise startled Zhu Yan and Xia Xiaohua, both stopping their meals.
Zhang Xian raised an eyebrow, looked up, and asked, "Didn’t you see I’m eating? If you’ve got something to say, wait until I finish. I don’t like being disturbed during my meal."
"Quite the bigshot, aren’t you!" The taekwondo master sneered, "Kid, I heard you’re quite good. You slapped the president of the Taekwondo Society away with a single slap. So, I wanted to test you."
Zhang Xian stood up, took hold of the taekwondo master’s hand, and said, "Brother, you’re too cool for me. I concede, okay?"
As soon as he said this, his classmates looked at him with disdain.
Didn’t this guy act all impressive before, slapping the president of the Taekwondo Society with a single slap? How come he’s admitting defeat now? Could it be that what Lin Ruoyi said was a lie?
Suddenly, the classmates started doubting the incident where Zhao Fuyuan was slapped away.
Anyone who could slap Zhao Fuyuan away with one slap must be quite powerful. How could such a person admit defeat so easily? As a man, who doesn’t care about their reputation and tolerate such provocation?
The taekwondo master was stunned, he didn’t expect Zhang Xian to surrender so directly.
Remembering the purpose of his visit, he sneered and said, "I thought you were so impressive! As it turns out, you’re just a coward. What a shame!"
Zhang Xian wiped his nose and ignored the taekwondo master. He grabbed Zhu Yan’s hand and walked away.
At school, he felt the need to keep a low profile, and it was best if he didn’t participate in challenges. If those two guys dared to provoke him outside the school, he would’ve slapped them to the ground a long time ago.
"Damn, Zhang Xian, are you that cowardly?"
"Hey, I thought you were tough! Didn’t expect you to be just a piece of trash."
"Exactly, someone even took the trouble to initiate a challenge, yet you’re hiding like a terrapin. You’re disgracing our Tsinghua University!"
Seeing Zhang Xian refusing the challenge, meaning no spectacular scene for them to watch, some students raised a ruckus, attempting to goad him into accepting the challenge from the Taekwondo expert.
Zhang Xian stopped for a moment and glared, "Who were the idiots just now making a racket? If you dare to accept my challenge, I’ll accept his."
At these words, those rambunctious guys quieted down. Regardless of whether Zhang Xian really slapped to the ground Zhao Fuyuan with one hand, none of them dared to accept his challenge.
"I thought you guys were cool! Turns out you’re just a bunch of barking dogs." Zhang Xian coldly smirked, before turning around and striding away.
The faces of the outspoken students turned ashen. They began whispering and chirping again, but no longer dared bring up the challenge.
"Everyone, just disperse! Zhang Xian never fought with Zhao Fuyuan."
"My bet is that the whole battle between Zhang Xian and Zhao Fuyuan was maliciously spread by someone, to build up Zhang Xian’s rep. That’s a really low trick, it’s deceiving the public!"
"Yes, it’s a conspiracy. Who knows, Zhao Fuyuan might even be involved."
Lin Ruoyi, standing amongst the crowd, felt her face turning ashen as she heard the cohorts talking, she stepped forward and retorted, "What do you mean by that? You think I’m lying?"
Seeing Lin Ruoyi stepping forward, the chattering students immediately shut their mouths.
Messing with Zhang Xian was one thing, but messing with Lin Ruoyi was simply self-destruction. Who knew if they’d be attacked as soon as they left the school.
"Lin Ruoyi, did Zhang Xian really defeat Zhao Fuyuan?" a student asked.
Lin Ruoyi answered, "Absolutely. When I was passing by the Taekwondo Society that day, I happened to see Zhang Xian challenging Zhao Fuyuan. He solved the matter with one slap."
Having heard Lin Ruoyi chirping nonstop, Zhang Xian raised an eyebrow after a twitch in his lips, shooting back at her, "Big Mouth Lin, will you bloody die if you stop yapping for once? Or will you still die?"
The students dumbstruck, collectively turned silent.
Wait, what? Was ’Big Mouth Lin’ Lin Ruoyi? That couldn’t be. Lin Ruoyi’s mouth was small and pretty!
"Ah..." Lin Ruoyi, seeing Zhang Xian daring to call her ’Big Mouth Lin’ in front of so many students, nearly choked from her surprise. "YOU are the big mouth Zhang, your whole family are all big mouths."
"Hmm, do you want to kiss me?" Zhang Xian grinned, his mouth trembling as he articulated, "Come on, my mouth is wide open. You can kiss me now."
"You..." Lin Ruoyi clenched her fist, teeth gnashing.
Fellow students looked on, their faces filled with anger. This heartless guy, how dare he tease their goddess Lin Ruoyi?
Seeing Lin Ruoyi, the Taekwondo expert’s eyes lit up, he immediately went up to her, "Beauty, this guy was bullying you, do you want me to give him a rough lesson for you?"
Lin Ruoyi glared back at the Taekwondo expert, "Who are you exactly? Are we close? Besides, with your cheeky looks, think you can fight Zhang Xian? Are you asking for death?"
The Taekwondo expert stood there blank-faced, before turning furious. What was she implying? Had he just been belittled? Lin Ruoyi claimed he was looking for death by fighting Zhang Xian - this was just too unbearable!
Other students too were puzzled. Why was Lin Ruoyi so focused on Zhang Xian being an expert? It was unscientific! If Zhang Xian was really that capable, why would he refuse the challenge?
"Zhang Xian..." Lin Ruoyi ran to Zhang Xian, "Just fight this guy, I’ll back you up."
"Who needs your support? You got screws loose or something?" Zhang Xian glared at Lin Ruoyi and departed. This girl was just adding to his troubles.
Lin Ruoyi stood there stupefied, then she jumped up, "Zhang Xian, you’re dead."
The other students were too shocked by Zhang Xian’s boldness to say a word.
This guy had some guts, wonder if his parents knew? Lin Ruoyi was the gem of Tsinghua University! He actually dared to call Lin Ruoyi a pest...
Lord above, cast a lightning bolt to strike that crazy jerk!
"Brother-in-law, you’re awesome." Zhu Yan and the others had a different perspective, thinking Zhang Xian was getting cooler. A boy who dared to speak like that to Lin Ruoyi was a rarity. Zhang Xian was definitely the first.
Xia Xiaohua was also stunned by Zhang Xian’s audacity. With Lin Ruoyi’s beauty, which boy didn’t want to catch her attention? Yet, Zhang Xian was pushing her away.
What was even more surprising was that Zhang Xian dared to publicly curse at Lin Ruoyi that she had a mental problem in front of so many people. How courageous he was!
Seeing Zhang Xian just walk away, the Taekwondo expert’s face turned black as the bottom of a pot.
He was ’invited’ by the school to guide the students in martial arts, and he wasn’t supposed to throw punches on school grounds unless there was a challenge. Having accepted Young Master Wang’s favor, he had promised to give Zhang Xian a lesson, and to handicap him in the challenge. However, Zhang Xian had shown no intention of accepting the challenge, even when faced with the students’ contempt.
The Karate master also knitted his eyebrows and said: "It seems our plan is not working."
