Chapter 171: Chapter 171: A Master is Coming to Tsinghua University_1

A warm gust of air blew past his ear and Zhang Xian shivered before continuing to laugh and go upstairs.

Duan Hong gave a sly smile, not lingering on any flirtatious topic. Occasionally teasing Zhang Xian was quite enjoyable. He gave her a different impression compared to other men.

"This is the room, have a look."

The landlord said, opening a room’s door with a smile.

Zhang Xian looked around, noticing the good natural lighting and well-ventilated air. He couldn’t help but turn to Duan Hong, "What do you think of this place?"

Duan Hong nodded, "It’s pretty good."

"Okay, you’ll stay here for now. We’ll figure out the rest later," Zhang Xian suggested.

Seeing that Zhang Xian and Duan Hong agreed to rent, the landlord immediately became much enthusiastic, quickly processing the leasing paperwork and cleaning the room thoroughly.

Securing the house, Zhang Xian bought a good number of things for Duan Hong.

The previously empty room quickly gained a hint of warmth and started to feel a bit more like a home.

Duan Hong looked around the room and smiled, "Zhang Xian, we met by chance, yet you’ve done so much for me... I... I don’t know how to thank you."

Zhang Xian laughed, "You’ll know later."

Duan Hong glanced at Zhang Xian and sighed, not saying anything else.

She understood what Zhang Xian referred to, but wasn’t sure if it was appropriate for her to help him.

"I have other matters to attend to, I should go now. If there are any problems, call me," Zhang Xian said, noticing that Duan Hong seemed rather unsettled, just as he had expected.

Although Duan Hong previously claimed she didn’t know anything about Tao Jinbao, Zhang Xian thought it was unlikely. They were married, after all. She couldn’t possibly be completely unaware of his dealings.

Duan Hong’s apparent inner turmoil indicated that she wanted to talk, yet lacked a breakthrough point.

Duan Hong said, "It’s almost dinner time, why don’t you stay for a meal before you leave?"

Zhang Xian shook his head, "I have other matters to attend to."

...

In Yantai city, inside a van parked on a certain street.

A few middle-aged men sat, eyes fixed on the entrance of a rental building.

After a while, they spotted a young man leaving the building. The man in the passenger seat immediately signaled, and the group rushed over.

The young man leaving the rental building was Zhang Xian. Seeing the attack coming, he wasn’t surprised.

He had managed to make several enemies in Yantai city, being targeted by them wasn’t unusual. If all was quiet, he would find it odd and unsettling instead.

"Waste this kid," the leading middle-aged man commanded, swinging a steel pipe at Zhang Xian.

The others didn’t hesitate and joined in, ganging up on him and acting very arrogant.

Zhang Xian responded with a cold smile, and quickly overwhelmed their attack. He was like a giant dealing with toddlers who had just learned to walk.

The previously arrogant men were beaten to the point of calling out for their mothers, completely losing their vigor. Bystanders couldn’t help but laugh at the comical display.

After subduing the middle-aged men, Zhang Xian lit a cigarette and asked, "Who sent you?"

Trembling with fear, one of the men answered, "It... it was Boss Tao. He ordered us to teach you a harsh lesson, to cripple your limbs."

Zhang Xian laughed, "Tell Tao Jinbao the matter isn’t settled."

The middle-aged man kept nodding, too terrified to act arrogant.

These men were security guards from Hachi Pharmaceuticals, personally selected by Tao Jinbao. Unexpectedly, they were easily overpowered and beaten by Zhang Xian.

Appearances can indeed be deceiving! He looked so delicate yet was remarkably ferocious when fighting.

...

The campus of Tsinghua University was buzzing today. Rumor had it that the school had invited a Taekwondo master and a Karate master to give a seven-day session to student clubs, cultivating the students’ diverse interests.

In today’s society, it’s well-known that money is king. However, masters were still highly valued and pursued by many.

Some female students always dreamt their men to be handsome, suave, with exceptional skills, much like some sort of a dashing hero. The male students also fantasized about themselves being handsome, suave, with exceptional skills, to show off in front of the girls and win their hearts.

As soon as the news spread, Tsinghua University was abuzz.

There’s a rumor that the two mentors coming to Tsinghua University happen to be rather attractive, which has some of the female students eager to meet these ’experts’.

"What’s going on?" Zhang Xian returned to university to find everyone abuzz, which piqued his curiosity.

Upon learning that they were Taekwondo and Karate mentors arriving to guide the students, his interest waned. Such showmanship hardly impressed him.

"Zhang Xian, where have you been?"

Xia Xiaohua greeted Zhang Xian at the cafeteria entrance, pouting, "We’ve been waiting here for you for quite a while."

Zhu Yan looked at Zhang Xian with a slightly flushed face. Clearly, she had not yet gotten over last night’s episode. After all, the one who touched her was her brother-in-law, and it lasted quite a while.

"Well, got delayed. Let’s get something to eat now." Zhang Xian said, laughing.

Xia Xiaohua came up to Zhang Xian and said: "Hey, do you know, our university has two experts visiting! They’ve just been keeping a low profile so far."

Zhang Xian scoffed: "Experts? Just a bunch of posers showing off in front of the ladies! The real experts wouldn’t bother themselves with such triviality."

Zhu Yan also raised her lip in disdain, "Exactly. While it’s true that our university invited them, in reality, it’s those martial artists bankrolling our school and then using it as a stage for their advertisements."

Zhang Xian was curious, "Advertise? What do you mean?"

Zhu Yan explained: "They sent two moderately attractive students with decent skills to show off, prompting some girls to scream. After that, some brainless people rushed to enroll."

Zhang Xian blinked. It dawned on him. So, the so-called experts who have been the talk of the university are here for advertising?

"Really?" Xia Xiaohua was surprised, "Yan Yan, who told you that?"

Zhu Yan replied, "I overheard it mentioned. Apparently, it’s some martial artist’s idea. The guidance is just a smokescreen, and their main goal is to advertise the martial art and attract students."

Xia Xiaohua’s mouth twisted in disdain, "So that’s it, I even thought they were genuine experts for guidance!"

Zhu Yan explained, "Of course! You want to meet a real expert? Why look elsewhere when there’s one right beside you? For what it’s worth, I think my brother-in-law is much more competent than them."

Staring at Zhang Xian, Xia Xiaohua asked, "Zhang Xian, can you beat those two experts?"

Zhang Xian replied, "Xia Xiaohua, could you please not insult me like that? Although I do not see myself as particularly extraordinary, I’m certainly not in the same league as those ’experts’."

Xia Xiaohua retorted, "Really? You’ve never seen their skills, but you’re so certain they’re no match for you?"

Zhang Xian rubbed his nose and chuckled, "Perhaps, this is what they call confidence. But then again, it’s hard to explain all this to a young lady like you."

Xia Xiaohua pouted and left to get some food.

Before long, Zhao Fuyuan walked into the cafeteria, briefly scanned the room, before heading directly towards Zhang Xian. "Master, Master, two show-offs have come to our school."

The words brought everyone’s attention towards Zhang Xian. Some students who had a thing for experts looked at Zhang Xian with hostility.

They all knew Zhao Fuyuan and could guess his relationship with Zhang Xian from the way Zhao addressed him. However, they didn’t think just because Zhang Xian defeated Zhao Fuyuan, he could beat the incoming mentors.

After all, Zhao Fuyuan was merely the best fighter in Tsinghua University, capable of taking on ten people by himself. He was decent, but hardly impressive in a larger context.

Zhang Xian was visibly annoyed, "Zhao Fuyuan, I’m not your master."

"Hehe, I’ve already decided you’re the one," Zhao Fuyuan chuckled, "Ever since I sparred with master, I’ve quit practicing Taekwondo. It seems useless."

Zhang Xian suddenly took a liking to Zhao Fuyuan, "Oh? Isn’t Taekwondo quite remarkable?"

Zhao Fuyuan grimaced, "Not at all. After master defeated me, I researched online and realized that our own Huaxia martial arts is truly profound and is the real martial arts. In recent years, Taekwondo and Karate have been popular, and I overlooked Huaxia martial arts. After looking it up these past few days, I realized I was on the wrong path."

When Xia Xiaohua saw Zhao Fuyuan, she curiously asked, "Hey, did Zhang Xian really slap you into the air that day?"

Zhao Fuyuan’s face darkened slightly. It was a bit embarrassing, but he nodded anyway, "Yes, just one slap. I didn’t stand a chance and was unconscious for three hours in the club."

The amused Xia Xiaohua and Zhu Yan couldn’t help but smile. He used to be quite popular until Zhang Xian came and knocked him off his perch.

Zhao Fuyuan’s dignity took a hit when he noticed Xia Xiaohua and Zhu Yan looking at him with disdain.

But as Zhu Yan was Zhang Xian’s girlfriend, and Xia Xiaohua was Zhu Yan’s best friend, that made one his ’master’s wife’, and the other the best friend of his master’s wife. He dared not offend either.

Feeling awfully sheepish, he said, "Master, I came here today to ask for a favor. Those Taekwondo mentors will definitely ask for me during the guidance training. I’ve lost interest in it now that I know it’s just shadow boxing. They might call me over and I wouldn’t bother responding. That might lead to conflicts."

Zhang Xian replied, "I don’t have time for that. You deal with it. Just do whatever they ask you to. It will be over in a few days, just bear with it."

"No...No..." Zhao Fuyuan argued, "Master, would you really stand by and watch your disciple being kicked around by those show-offs?"

Zhang Xian turned to look at Zhao Fuyuan, "When did I agree to take you in as my disciple? Please don’t pull strings where there aren’t any. Moreover, why should their treatment of you concern me?"
