During the day, James Brown was busy with company matters alongside Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen. "James Brown, it’s your job to call in the people from JYPP Region who are interested in joining our company," said Gina Lopez, assigning him a task quite directly. In fact, she didn’t really treat James Brown as the president, so when she ordered him to do something, it felt effortless.

James Brown agreed cheerfully. Compared to other tasks, he felt more at ease with this one.

Returning to the president’s office, James Brown immediately called Sarah Utah.

"Big Brother Brown, have you sorted out the company’s issues?" Sarah Utah asked urgently as soon as she spoke.

James Brown chuckled, "Yes, everything is settled. I’m calling to ask if you can start work immediately."

"Start work right away? So soon?" Sarah Utah exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, there aren’t many people in the company yet; even I’m swamped. Please come and help me out quickly."

"Alright, where’s the office? I’ll head over right now," Sarah Utah replied immediately.

James Brown gave her the address of J Corporation and hung up. After that, he made calls to the colleagues who had left JYPP Region Company the day before, reaching out to each of them.

As soon as James Brown finished his calls, Sarah Utah had already arrived at the company. James Brown, Gina Lopez, and Sunny Nguyen had agreed that he would now manage the HR department, his main responsibility being to recruit employees.

The temporary office for the HR department was on the fifth floor. When Sarah Utah entered and saw James Brown’s spacious office and him sitting behind the desk, looking authoritative, she squinted her eyes and said with a smile, "Big Brother Brown, you’re looking pretty impressive, already the manager of the HR department now?"

James Brown stood up, smiling, "What HR manager am I? Right now, I’m more like the commander here. Isn’t that why we immediately need your help?"

"Sure, I knew Mr. Lopez and Big Brother Brown would make it work. Seeing the scale of this company fills me with confidence."

Waving Sarah Utah to a seat, James Brown said, "You know, our company looks big, but it’s quite empty on the inside. Now that you’re here, I’m considering which department to put you in charge of."

"In charge?" Sarah Utah startled and looked at James Brown with uncertainty.

"Yes, in charge. We have so many departments, those of you who are here first need to be assigned a position to start preparing for your respective department’s tasks."

"Big Brother Brown, I... I’m not sure I can do it," stuttered Sarah Utah, clearly intimidated by the unexpected heavy responsibility placed on her in a new company, unprepared mentally.

"Ha, you see even a driver can sit here, so of course, you can too. Besides, it’s definitely temporary at the moment. After working for a while, we will see everyone’s abilities. Capable ones will stay or get promoted, and those who are not up to the task will face demotion. However, the company won’t let down those who join us in these early times— even if your position is lowered, your salary and benefits will still be good."

After a moment’s hesitation, Sarah Utah nodded decisively, "Alright, I’ll give it a try."

Sarah’s smile was somewhat strained, honestly, her confidence wasn’t all that high at the moment.

Subsequently, ten people arrived at the company, all from JYPP Region. James Brown repeated to them what he told Sarah Utah. Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen, after finishing their morning tasks, specifically set up a meeting to meet with everyone. Gina, true to her role as CEO, detailed the company’s vision to everyone, then turned the current difficulties into opportunities and challenges. This immediately boosted everyone’s enthusiasm—an effect James Brown simply couldn’t achieve.

James looked Alice up and down with a smile. She was wearing a white half-sleeve sweatshirt with the top two buttons undone, revealing a large portion of skin and a tantalizing hint of cleavage, paired with a short skirt, glossy beige stockings, and black high heels—an absolute head-turner.

"I’m the manager of the HR department now, you know. I’m here to place a couple of ads to recruit some people."

Understanding immediately, Alice gave James an apologetic smile and said, "Then let me take you to the advertising department, Manager Johnson."

"Thank you," James replied, nodding with a smile.

"Mr... Manager Johnson, have you been very busy these days?"

"Indeed, I’ve got my hands full."

Alice chuckled lightly and asked, "Do you need help with anything?"

"I’m just about to recruit some people. Once I hire a couple of pretty and capable secretaries, I’ll be able to relax."

Alice seemed disappointed by James’s polite decline and pouted her sensual lips, "Then I might as well become your secretary."

"You want to be my secretary?" James chuckled and said, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll take advantage of you?"

Alice giggled and replied, "Go ahead, I’m almost hoping you would."

Amidst the laughter, they arrived at the advertising department. With Alice’s assistance, the advertising deal was swiftly negotiated and the contract signed. The ads could run that very night.

Alice escorted James all the way to the TV station’s main entrance before she stopped and asked, "Mr. Smith, are you free tonight?"

James patted Alice on the shoulder and said, "I’ve got a girlfriend recently."

Quick as always, Alice responded with a radiant smile, "You really are a good man, Mr. Smith. Once you have a girlfriend, you don’t play around. That’s really different from those wealthy guys. I truly envy your girlfriend."

James laughed and said, "But we’re still friends. If there’s anything you need help with in the future, I’m here for you."

"Thank you, Mr. Smith." Alice immediately beamed with joy, and on an impulse, she planted a kiss on James’s cheek.

A kiss from a beautiful hostess could have been a delightful affair, but at that moment, James’s face turned dark because a woman had just stepped out of a black sports car, and it was none other than his first love, Melody Yoody.
