James Brown rolled his eyes, "That joke isn’t funny at all. Don’t think about tying me down here, I’m not going to manage your company. It’s exhausting, and besides, I wouldn’t know how."

"You could learn. Nobody is born knowing how to be a CEO."

"Save it, no matter what you say, I won’t agree."

"Alright, I won’t force you. But I probably won’t come to this office much myself. Besides, you already pretended to be my cousin. Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog, those two hosts, they know it. James Brown just offered a faint smile, then lit a cigarette. Lucy immediately handed him an ashtray. She had an ashtray ready in her office, clearly prepared for James.

It was then Gina noticed Lucy, and her confusion deepened, but she shifted her focus onto Lucy, saying, "Miss Campbell, I’m so sorry, seeing James just shocked me."

Lucy smiled and said, "Don’t mention it, please sit down. This guy just loves playing tricks."

Gina sat down, but hearing Lucy’s comment, something felt off. It seemed like Lucy was closer to James than she was. Yet just yesterday, James was pretending to be her boyfriend, and now he was directly under Lucy, which was hard for her to accept.

At this point, Lucy sat next to Gina and said, "I knew him from before; he was my bodyguard, so I directly approached him this time to ensure my safety."
