Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Doing Bad Things

Once again in the living room, James Brown lifted Emily Lopez, yet she wasn’t as compliant as Gina Lopez. As soon as James had lifted her, Emily’s arms suddenly wrapped around his neck.

"Emily, what are you doing?" James was startled and quickly whispered.

Emily just smacked her lips and continued to sleep soundly, leaving James somewhat speechless. Even while asleep, she still clung to his neck, so he didn’t call out to her again and carried her to another bedroom.

He laid Emily down on the bed, but she still didn’t let go of his neck. James had to carefully pry her hands away. During this process, he caught a glimpse of the scenery inside her neckline.

Her neckline was undone to reveal one button, which wouldn’t normally have shown anything. But because she had been hugging his neck, her clothes had twisted somewhat. Plus, from his angle, James could see inside her neckline, where a stretch of white extended downward, becoming ever higher, eventually forming hills. Between those hills, a shallow valley appeared that deepened as it descended, fully splitting the hills in two.

Men always have some desire to peek, whether you admit it or not, it’s an undeniable fact. Often, it’s the unseen that’s the most tantalizing. Emily’s spontaneous reveal was exactly the sort that tempted a man to peek. James felt an urge to undo her shirt buttons and look inside.

But James’s self-control was incomparable, so he quickly freed her hands and pulled the covers over her, then turned off the lights and left Emily’s room.

James didn’t go straight back to his bedroom; instead, he headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower. The encounter with Emily had fired him up, and he needed a cool shower to calm himself down.

Looking at his aroused self, James shook his head. Living together with Gina and Emily Lopez, the enticing twin sisters, was a real torment; he hoped Emily would leave soon because this ’look but can’t touch’ situation was driving him crazy.

The next morning, Gina saw James sleeping beside her, furrowed her brows, and thought that she must have fallen asleep while watching TV last night. How did she end up in bed?

Seeing Gina staring, James also woke up and with a grin said, "Morning."

"Morning!" Gina smiled as well, saying, "Didn’t I fall asleep in the living room last night?"

"I carried you in here."

Gina’s face turned red, "Why didn’t you wake me?"

James chuckled, "You were sleeping so soundly, I didn’t have the heart to wake you."

Gina’s lips moved as she sat up and tidied her messy hair, "Thank you."

"No need for thanks. Even though I’m a fake boyfriend, I take my role seriously and naturally do what a boyfriend should."

"Hmm, you did well. I’ll give you a bonus of one thousand bucks." Gina didn’t want to get too entangled with James, so she brought up money, thinking it might give her some peace of mind.

James was momentarily stunned; he hadn’t mentioned money when he agreed to help Gina. It was really just about covering expenses these past few days. But since Gina mentioned it, James didn’t find it inappropriate and quickly replied, "Thanks, boss."

Seeing how readily James accepted, Gina felt a bit uneasy, but she nodded and said, "Alright, just keep Emily company for now, but remember, she sees you as a brother-in-law, not a stranger. Understand that our relationship is fake, and Emily isn’t really your little aunt."

James nodded again, "Understood, Gina. Don’t worry."

Gina turned and left the room, but in the bathroom, she shook her head, feeling she had perhaps been too harsh. But even if it was harsh, it needed to be said to prevent James from getting the wrong idea.

That day, James took Emily out for a stroll around YODC City, but nothing eventful happened, which somewhat disappointed Emily. While with James, she hoped for more thrilling experiences than just simple outings.

In the afternoon, Gina called; she had to go to the head office in City Center and wouldn’t be back that night. Upon hearing this, Emily immediately got excited.

"Why are you so excited?" James asked, puzzled.

Emily giggled, "Don’t you think we’re less free when my sister is home?"

James found this suggestion quite tempting, as if Emily was hinting at doing something daring that they wouldn’t dare do if her sister was home. The idea of a man and woman sneaking around could easily lead to more intimate thoughts. However, James understood that wasn’t what she meant and feigned surprise, "Really?"

"What do you mean really? With her at home, this isn’t allowed, that isn’t allowed. Brother-in-law, since she’s not here tonight, how about we go out and have fun all night?"

"Forget it, she’ll surely call home. If she finds out we didn’t return, she’ll be upset."

"Hehe, that’s easy, we’ll just go home first, unplug the phone line so she can’t make any calls, and then we can just say there was a phone malfunction and tell her to call our cell phones. We can just say we are home, right?"

James Brown made Emily Lopez laugh, and he said, "Your technique for mischief is pretty seasoned."

Emily, feeling proud, raised an eyebrow and said, "This isn’t really scheming; it’s just that sometimes my older sister can be really annoying."

James shook his head and said, "Then you should think about where we ought to go hang out?"

"Let’s go to a bar, a disco, or a Casino Resort, just anywhere that’s fun," she suggested.

James thought about it and said, "Let’s not go anywhere too complicated. How about we just head to a bar and have some drinks? Brother-in-law can make you some drinks."

Emily immediately got excited and exclaimed, "Yes, please! It’s been so long since I’ve had a cocktail mixed by you, let’s go."

They first went home, where Emily unplugged the phone line, and then they changed into a different set of clothes and took a cab to a bar.

This was a bar that James had never visited before. He usually preferred a bar near his place, where he had met Sunny Nguyen and had a couple of romantic encounters. However, the staff there had gotten to know James, so bringing Emily along would be a bit inconvenient.

This bar was busier than James’s usual spot, making it relatively noisy, especially since there was a group of noisy teenagers around seventeen or eighteen years old.

James and Emily didn’t sit in a booth but went straight to the bar. James looked at the selection of alcohol on the shelves behind the bar and directly ordered six or seven types.

The bartender, puzzled, asked James, "Sir, are you planning to mix your own drinks?"

Emily proudly responded, "You’re quite observant. That’s exactly what we’re going to do."

The bartender’s interest was piqued, and he looked at James, "Mixing drinks isn’t as simple as it looks."

Emily was even prouder and challenged, "Oh really? Let me ask you, can you mix a ’Seven-Colored Rainbow’?"

The bartender’s expression changed slightly, "A ’Seven-Colored Rainbow’ isn’t easy to make. If I mix it ten times, perhaps I’d succeed once."

"Well, your skills are nowhere near my brother-in-law’s; he can mix a ’Nine-Colored Rainbow.’"

"A ’Nine-Colored Rainbow’?" The bartender was taken aback and then shook his head vigorously, "No way. If you could mix a ’Nine-Colored Rainbow,’ you’d be a top-tier mixologist. I might not have met those master mixologists, but I’ve seen their pictures, and this gentleman definitely isn’t one of them."

"Brother-in-law, show him how to mix a ’Nine-Colored Rainbow,’ let him see for himself." Emily loved seeing James do showy things and eagerly urged him on.

James, who was quite fond of his lively young sister-in-law, smiled and said, "Alright, I’ll mix one for you."

The bartender watched skeptically as James started to prepare the drink. He’d been mixing drinks for a long time, and even the ’Seven-Colored Rainbow’ had such a low success rate—he couldn’t believe that James, who was relatively unknown, could pull off a ’Nine-Colored Rainbow.’ Without a prompt from James, he had already laid out the cocktail glasses in front of him.

James, unceremoniously, picked up a mixing glass and began to shake with his left hand and pour with his right, his movements fluid and expert without any hesitance.

James’s technique was unpretentious, and the bartender, not a master himself, skeptically thought James was merely blending drinks—a simple act of pouring different alcohols into one glass.

But as James gently placed down a drink, the bartender was utterly dumbfounded. Under the bar lights, the drink’s layers were distinct, precisely nine vibrant colors that dazzled the eyes. Emily, squinting, gazed at the drink, seemingly lost in thought.

"Go ahead, drink up." James ignored the bartender’s stunned look and gently pushed Emily.

She nodded and carefully sipped the cocktail, savoring the various flavors and their complex combinations in her mouth—suddenly spicy, then rich, then refreshing... it was an indescribably exquisite sensation.

The drink wasn’t large, but Emily felt herself getting tipsy. It wasn’t her first time drinking James’s cocktails, but each time, she seemed to appreciate the unique flavors more and more, growing richer and more enjoyable. After finishing the drink, she looked at James, her eyes glowing softly, her cheeks flushed—whether from the alcohol or something else, it was hard to tell.

James met Emily’s gaze, but there was a flutter in his heart. Why did her look remind him so much of Emma Campbell’s?
