The Supporting Actress Made A Comeback
Chapter 72: The First Time Stealing

Chapter 72: Chapter 72: The First Time Stealing

The two of them were at complete odds.

Ji Nan did not respond further but pressed the remote. At the far end of the immense hall, a huge projection screen slowly descended, alongside a blackout panel beside it, gradually bringing the image into focus.

Uncle Dong, eyeing the setup, clasped his hands and sneered coldly, "I really want to see what tricks you’re playing!"

All eyes converged on the screen, which, once the projector’s light hit it, displayed a vivid scene.

The man on the screen looked tall and gentlemanly, wearing thin-framed glasses, his face marked with the clear signs of age yet still spirited. Who could it be but Uncle Dong?

Everyone, seeing this Uncle Dong, couldn’t help but glance at the real Uncle Dong and bizarrely found the person on the screen to be much younger than the man himself.

A look of astonishment crossed Uncle Dong’s face.

For the Uncle Dong in the footage was, shockingly, in Mo Shu’s room.

As the scene moved, it entered Mo Shu’s jewelry room.

No one present had ever seen Mo Shu’s room, and upon witnessing the jewelry room on the screen, they all couldn’t help but gasp in awe.

"So many!"

"A jewelry room? More like a treasury!"

"My God... Okay, I’d heard Mo Shu collected jewelry, but this amount is terrifying..."

...

"Uncle Dong."

A naive, young girl’s voice rang out. The scene shifted, and there was Mo Shu.

However, the Mo Shu in the footage was small, her face obviously bearing a child’s naivety, appearing to be no more than thirteen or fourteen years old.

Uncle Dong turned and said, "Princess, why are you still up so late?"

Young Mo Shu pouted, "I dreamed about Mom, and I miss her so much," tears falling as she spoke. She moved forward to hug Uncle Dong’s waist, "She said she would never leave me, liar. I’ll never forgive her..." Her voice grew increasingly choked up, "Uncle Dong, you won’t leave me, right?"

Uncle Dong, holding young Mo Shu, replied, "No, Uncle Dong will always be by your side, Princess."

Young Mo Shu said, "Then it’s a promise. No matter what happens, you can’t leave me, you can’t betray me. If you turn out to be a traitor, I won’t forgive you either!"

Uncle Dong responded, resigned, "Okay."

...

Such a heartwarming scene left the audience somewhat distressed.

Mo Shu had lost her mother at a very young age, and her father detested her to the core. Throughout, the only person by her side had been one housekeeper.

Uncle Dong felt a warm sensation in his heart as he looked at Mo Shu, "Princess, when did you record this?"

However, looking over, he noticed Mo Shu’s expression was one of cold indifference.

Uncle Dong’s smiling face stiffened, and suddenly, someone in the crowd exclaimed, "What is this? Stealing?"

Uncle Dong’s heart skipped a beat, and he turned to look.

Somehow, the footage had switched to showing only him. He was in the jewelry room, nervously looking around, stealthily slipping an inconspicuous bracelet into his pocket.

Uncle Dong’s face went pale in an instant.

How could this be?

Ji Nan’s voice resonated through the surrounding speakers, "This was your first theft."

Uncle Dong’s face was ashen, "It can’t be, how could this be, this video must be edited!"

Such high-quality video does not seem like the technology of that time!

Moreover, there were never any surveillance cameras in Mo Shu’s room!

But then Uncle Dong quickly remembered that bracelet, one of the many birthday gifts from when Mo Shu was seven years old. Amongst all the lavish presents, it was quite inconspicuous. That’s why he chose that bracelet.

His heart racing, Uncle Dong felt extremely panicked.

It’s impossible... this can’t be happening!
