Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Is She Crying? [Extra for ’Shengsheng’]
Yu Jinggang elbowed him and muttered in a low voice, "You little stinker, this is your future wife!"
"So what," Si Qiao said, his face showing disdain though he couldn’t help but lower his voice even more, looking at the woman asleep in front of him, her breathing even, seemingly very tired.
She had indeed been very busy lately.
Her bodyguard said that she didn’t even have the appetite to eat, couldn’t sleep well, and needed Dr. Wu to prescribe some sleep-inducing fetus-preserving medicine so she could barely get some decent sleep.
Hmph.
Always showing off for nothing, serves her right!
When Yu Jinggang heard what his son said, his eyes widened even more and he exclaimed, "When I was young, I was quite the Ladies’ Man in the romantic scene. How did I end up with a son so clueless about romance! If I had your lousy EQ, would I have been able to woo your mother?"
Si Qiao replied irritably, "I’m so annoyed, I get it!"
Every day he had to hear this spiel, for over twenty years, and still it goes on without end!
Mature he is not!
Their voices were always kept very low, Mo Shu completely unaware.
Yu Jinggang couldn’t help feeling smug, patting his son’s shoulder before quickly leaving.
When he reached the door, he turned back to see Si Qiao’s face irritated, yet he moved forward, his actions instinctively much gentler.
Yu Jinggang sneaked a laugh to himself, thoughtfully making a swift exit.
Si Qiao listened to his father’s footsteps fade away before bending down and carefully lifting Mo Shu up into his arms.
Mo Shu was sleeping deeply, vaguely feeling as if she were dreaming, dreaming that her body was light, floating up to the clouds.
Just flying and flying, completely at ease.
The old Dean once said that when people dream about flying, it’s because they’re growing, and when the flight stops, it means the growth has ceased, there’s no need to be afraid. The most precious and relaxing moments in a day are during the deep, silent night, enjoying the peace of sleep to maintain a good mood for the next day.
Si Qiao held her as he entered his own room. The servants dare not make a sound, they just helped open the door for him, and the housekeeper auntie came to whisper, "Young Master, do you need to change Princess Mo’s clothes?"
Mo Shu’s current outfit looked uncomfortable no matter how one looked at it.
Si Qiao was about to speak when suddenly he caught sight of Mo Shu’s lips twitching into a slight smile.
Seeing Mo Shu’s smile, the housekeeper auntie couldn’t help but laugh as well, saying, "I’ll leave you to it then, get some good rest."
"Mhm."
Si Qiao responded.
The housekeeper auntie quickly left.
Si Qiao stood up and took off his jacket when he suddenly saw Mo Shu seem to move.
Subconsciously, Si Qiao froze, holding his breath and not daring to move.
But Mo Shu turned over, shifting to her left side, and continued to sleep.
Only when she had completely settled down did Si Qiao let out a sigh of relief, only to suddenly realize what he just did.
Damn it!
Why the hell was he listening to that old scoundrel and letting her sleep in his bed?
He simply could’ve dumped her in the guest room!!!
It was only then that Si Qiao realized his terrible mistake. Angrily, he threw his jacket aside and stomped up onto the bed with a bit of ferocity, deciding to wake her and send her away.
But just as he got close, he suddenly noticed a tear glistening at the corner of her eye.
Si Qiao’s move stiffened.
Was she crying?
This woman, the tyrant who always acted above the law, crying?
This thought seemed to strike somewhere deep within him.
