Chapter 161: Chapter 161: If you want to disgrace yourself, go ahead!
Yu Siqiao’s words were interrupted, only to be choked in his throat.
Then, Mo Shu was seen slowly rising to her feet, her movements graceful, her steps slow, and she walked up to him, and then looked towards Xing Mengzheng, "Aunt Yu, where is the piano?"
Yu Siqiao watched her with an expression that seemed to dismiss everything; although he wanted to say something, he ultimately closed his mouth, half-skeptical and half-doubtful.
Xing Mengzheng actually didn’t think highly of her at all.
After all, Mo Shu’s reputation was really too poor; it could be said that the name Mo Shu had become synonymous with ’good for nothing.’
But seeing the jewelry designed by Mo Shu herself today, she felt maybe she wasn’t so terrible.
Seeing the bright and polite smile on Mo Shu’s face, Xing Mengzheng turned around and said, "Come with me."
Xing Mengzheng walked ahead, and Mo Shu followed, but after a few steps, Yu Siqiao grabbed her.
Disbelief in his eyes, he glanced at Xing Mengzheng and then leaned in close to Mo Shu, whispering, "Don’t try to be something you’re not; if you can do it, do it, if you can’t, then you can’t. My mother hates people who try to puff themselves up. Don’t bite off more than you can chew."
Mo Shu glanced at Yu Siqiao, shook his hand off, and then smiled, saying word by word, "Don’t worry about me."
With that, she passed by him, following Xing Mengzheng upstairs.
Yu Siqiao’s face looked a bit sour as he walked beside her, whispering, "Can you really play?"
A faintly playful smile appeared in Mo Shu’s bright eyes as she responded softly, "Are you concerned about me, Young Master Yu?"
Yu Siqiao paused, then scoffed, "Don’t flatter yourself. I just don’t want you to spoil my mother’s mood."
"Oh," Mo Shu retracted her gaze, "then today really is unfortunate, because that is exactly what I’m going to do."
Yu Siqiao didn’t believe she could do it, and her words further convinced him she was being defiant. Blocking her way, he said, "Just forget about it; don’t embarrass yourself later. It’s not going to look good if people outside start saying that Yu Siqiao’s fiancée can’t do anything but still pretends and makes a fool of herself."
Mo Shu let out a cold laugh. A glint passed through her clear eyes as she retorted, "In the end, it’s all for the sake of your own pride."
Yu Siqiao felt like he was struck, and seeing the disgust on her face, annoyance surged in him. He stopped trying to deter her, "If you want to humiliate yourself, go ahead!"
Yu Siqiao’s voice wasn’t quiet, and Xing Mengzheng quickly turned her head back.
Mo Shu’s face broke into a smile, and she quickly walked with her to a black, exquisite grand piano.
This brand of piano, Mo Shu could only have seen in magazines before, but now it was truly in front of her eyes.
Xing Mengzheng opened the piano lid, and her well-maintained fingers gently pressed down, a row of crisp sounds, like music from heaven.
Mo Shu’s heart stirred, her attention completely captured by the black and white keys above.
Xing Mengzheng noticed her happy and intoxicated gaze and spoke, "Give it a try. What piece can you play?"
Mo Shu countered, "What would you like to hear?"
Xing Mengzheng paused, then smiled, "Si Qiao loved it when I played ’Turkish March’ for him when he was little."
"Okay." Mo Shu sat down.
Yu Siqiao’s brow was tightly furrowed as he looked at her slender, white fingers. His hands unconsciously folded across his arms while he watched her lips press tightly.
Xing Mengzheng noticed her son’s subtle movements, her gaze deepening slightly before soon shifting to Mo Shu’s hands.
Her fingers fell expertly, and soon, the familiar tune began to play.
