Chapter 724: Chapter 724 Trust Needs No Explanation (1)
Liu Chenbo and Qin Zhenren had discussed matters for over three hours, but in truth, there wasn’t much to talk about—it was mostly about the price. Qin Zhenren’s repetitive excuses were giving Liu Chenbo a headache, but to reach his goal, he kept listening impassively, never yielding an inch. Finally, he left Qin Zhenren with a few days to consider, walking away leisurely as Qin Zhenren’s expression shifted.
After this negotiation, it was time to talk to the next party. In the days that followed, Liu Chenbo met with Qin Zhenli in different locations. Qin Zhenli had brought Qin Ying with him, as the investment project was under her name, after all. Before meeting with Liu Chenbo, he also spoke with Fu Tiancheng. This loss was significant for them, and Fu Tiancheng was not a minor partner either. Although there was a period when Fu Tiancheng couldn’t be found, even if he had been present, it likely wouldn’t have solved anything—after all, they weren’t in control of establishing the new district. So when Fu Tiancheng reappeared later, the relationship between them was more like comrades in distress rather than suspicion.
With the issue of the project’s acquisition, both the members of the Qin family and Fu Tiancheng were naturally very supportive. News had reached them that Du Tiancheng’s company was also facing bankruptcy, and they were naturally keen to recoup some funds. Although a loss was inevitable, minimizing it was preferable, leaving them with at least some capital to turn things around.
The meeting between Qin Zhenli, Qin Ying, and Liu Chenbo went much smoother than Qin Zhenyi’s. After all, Qin Ying’s side of the investment was much smaller, and their price demands weren’t as high, so they didn’t waste much time with Liu Chenbo. It was a lot more straightforward than with Qin Zhenren, and they agreed on a price and signed the sale contract right then and there, completing the transaction.
After meeting with Qin Zhenren and Qin Zhenli, Liu Chenbo had been trying to contact Qin Zhenyi, but every time, the assistant answered the phone, replying with the same message: Mr. Qin Zhenyi was not feeling well and unable to meet anytime soon. Liu Chenbo, somewhat helpless, had no choice but to report this to Su Yanyi.
"Mr. Qin Zhenyi is avoiding meeting, Mr. Qin Zhenren is considering, and Mr. Qin Zhenli and Qin Ying’s project have signed the acquisition contract," Liu Chenbo summarized the situation succinctly.
"Keep a close watch on Qin Zhenren. As for Qin Zhenyi... leave him a way to contact us, and that’s all," Su Yanyi contemplated. She found Qin Zhenyi’s behavior rather strange. For nearly two months, he had continually claimed to be ill and unavailable, and the surveillance reports only detailed a very simple routine: eating, sleeping, reading. He barely used the phone, as if he really had no intention of doing anything anymore. It all seemed like a profound sense of disillusionment.
Su Yanyi had never intended to completely obliterate the Qin family members. The saying "do nothing and you won’t die" had always been applicable to them. If in the end, Qin Zhenyi chose not to sell his investment in the new district, she would let him be. The thing she had always wanted was the Qin’s Chairman position, and the rest were just optional bonuses.
"Understood!"
Apart from Liu Chenbo, many others wanted to see Qin Zhenyi but were unable to, including the other two brothers of the Qin family.
After their respective incidents which led to police investigations, both Qin Zhenren and Qin Zhenli had sought out Qin Zhenyi, but they couldn’t even get through the door, and repeated phone calls were always answered by the assistant with the exact same excuse: claiming illness and inability to meet, leaving Qin Zhenren and Qin Zhenli with no recourse.
