Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Jealous Again

The seafood was all very fresh, and Qin Jiran prepared several kinds, some boiled and some grilled. Su Yanyi had a wonderful meal and felt exceptionally happy.

After dinner, Qin Jiran took Su Yanyi out through the back door of the restaurant in a somewhat secretive manner. Su Yanyi followed without objection, walking through a small garden without encountering anyone. After a little more than two minutes, they arrived at an entrance where a person who appeared to be a security guard was seated. Upon seeing the couple, he approached them and said, "Mr. Qin, Mrs. Qin, everything is ready. Please come in."

The title of ’Mrs. Qin’ was a foreign one to Su Yanyi. She wondered whether it was her own strong presence or the fact that, previously, when their status had not been made public, the people who knew of their relationship were on her side. But in any case, this was the first time someone had addressed her as Mrs. Qin.

However, she found the feeling acceptable and saw no reason to reject it.

As for Qin Jiran, he sneaked a glance at Su Yanyi and, seeing that she didn’t object, felt a burst of delight in his heart. A smile spread across his face, and he nodded to the security guard, saying, "Then we’ll go in."

The two of them entered, with Qin Jiran obviously familiar with the place, while Su Yanyi looked on curiously. However, she noticed nothing special, just an ordinary-looking house. They walked through a small living room and into a bedroom, but what Su Yanyi saw inside surprised her.

"A tiger cub?" To be precise, a white tiger cub, squinting as if asleep, lying inside a wooden fence. The little one looked much like a cat, but Su Yanyi naturally wouldn’t mistake it; it was clearly a little white tiger.

"A friend gave it to me. It was smuggled here. If you like it, keep it; if not, we’ll send it to the zoo." The reason Qin Jiran brought Su Yanyi to see the little white tiger was because it couldn’t easily be seen by others, and most importantly, he didn’t know if Su Yanyi would agree to keep the little white tiger.

Su Yanyi’s eyes twitched. Keeping a tiger? This was something she had never considered. She found even a turtle to be troublesome, let alone harboring any thoughts of keeping a tiger—and a smuggled one at that. This must be a joke!

"Then send it to the zoo." She knew men liked small animals, but that didn’t mean she had to accept such an abnormal gift. A tiger? Wasn’t Qin Jiran afraid that the tiger would eat their little turtle at home?

Qin Jiran’s disappointment didn’t require words; his entire demeanor slumped in an instant. He looked like a large dog that had been abandoned by its owner, hanging his head pitifully. At least, that was the impression Su Yanyi got.

After some thought, Qin Jiran still struggled to say, "It’s quite valuable, and smuggling isn’t easy."

It was a chance encounter that had led him to it. He knew someone who trafficked in various rare pets, with all sorts of pets from around the world, even claiming that they could obtain things like elephants. He initially wanted to buy a prestigious dog or some other small pet but happened upon a little tiger just as the person had one available. After hearing about the pet and thinking that Su Yanyi might prefer a more domineering animal, he was moved to buy it.

"If you’re short on money, I’ll give it to you." Su Yanyi was not someone who cared about money; from birth, money was just a series of numbers to her.

Qin Jiran choked on Su Yanyi’s words, helplessly glancing at the little white tiger. How adorable the little creature looked sleeping! How could Yanyi not like it? Weren’t girls supposed to love cute things? Wasn’t the little tiger cute enough?

"Then I’ll send it to the zoo," Qin Jiran no longer insisted. Since Yanyi didn’t like it, he wouldn’t insist on raising it either.

Su Yanyi looked at Qin Jiran’s disappointed expression, her gaze flickered and her eyebrows slightly furrowed, as if hesitating a bit.

When her gaze fell on the tiger cub, it wasn’t that she found the little thing unlovable, but rather she found it troublesome. She had always disliked trouble, otherwise, she wouldn’t have directly handed over the care of the Meteorite Turtle to Qin Jiran. But the problem was, Qin Jiran seemed to really like small animals...

Qin Jiran crouched down and, with a sense of reluctance, stroked the white tiger cub’s head as if saying farewell to it.

At that moment, the man’s expression was very gentle, radically different from his usual stern demeanor. This man seemed to truly have a loving heart for animals. Thinking of this, Su Yanyi felt somewhat displeased.

That gentle look in his eyes should belong to her alone, how could he share it with an animal? It was simply too uncomfortable, the thought alone was distressing!

Any wavering thoughts Su Yanyi might have had vanished immediately, and she was even slightly angry. But she was not one to lose her temper without cause, so she turned around and walked away without a word.

Seeing Su Yanyi turn and leave, Qin Jiran felt a sudden pang in his heart, instinctively feeling that she was angry. He got up to follow her, not even paying attention to the Little White Tiger anymore. He wanted to say something but didn’t know what to say, so he just watched her intently, his eyes filled with growing tension and unease. He seemed to have angered Yanyi again. He was really too clumsy.

The two walked back to the parked car in silence, with hurried steps. Qin Jiran unlocked the car and rushed to open the door for Su Yanyi. She didn’t even glance at him as she got into the car. Qin Jiran also got into the car promptly, watching her uneasily, and ventured, "Are you angry? Don’t be angry. If you don’t like it, I’ll never let you see these creatures again."

Hearing this, Su Yanyi finally looked at Qin Jiran, but her eyes were a bit complicated, leaving Qin Jiran feeling uneasy about what she might be thinking.

"It’s your home too, if you like it, then bring it back and raise it. I don’t mind," Su Yanyi’s voice was somewhat cold, but it also didn’t seem like she was very angry.

In fact, during the walk back, Su Yanyi had thought a lot. Naturally, she wasn’t very fond of small animals, but what she liked even less was Qin Jiran’s affection for them. Clearly, her emotions were a bit off. Even if her EQ was low and she lacked experience, Su Yanyi understood she was likely feeling jealous, or maybe even a bit possessive...

This realization annoyed Su Yanyi, finding it utterly frivolous to feel jealous over a Tiger. But the fact was laid out before her, and it didn’t feel right to deny it, so she could only stew in her irritation.
