Chapter 580: Chapter 580: The Magical Box (6)

Releasing Yanyi’s hand, Qin Jiran crouched down to study the suitcase more closely. Clothes, pants, shoes, hats, glasses, and so on were all neatly arranged inside, while the other side held various daily necessities, from shampoo to shower gel, everything one would need. These had all been packed by Yanyi, and besides that, there seemed to be some edible items as well, though it didn’t seem like there were too many things.

"I mean it can fit, but that doesn’t mean I actually packed that much. If you don’t believe me, try putting some more stuff in," Su Yanyi suggested as she saw Qin Jiran carefully examining the suitcase. Words alone are no proof; better to let the facts speak for themselves.

Upon hearing that, Qin Jiran felt slightly dizzy, the whole situation began to feel more and more real!

Qin Jiran looked at Su Yanyi, as if trying to find a hint of jest in Yanyi’s expression, and Su Yanyi also looked back at Qin Jiran with utterly serious eyes, clearly indicating to just go ahead and try.

After a brief stare-down, Qin Jiran made his move. He glanced around and set his eyes on two large pillows on the bed. Grabbing them, he stuffed them into the suitcase. The suitcase already seemed full, leaving no room for anything else. However, feeling is one thing and reality is another. As the pillows touched the suitcase, they magically merged into the luggage without changing their size. The seemingly full suitcase miraculously accommodated them without looking overstuffed.

Cough cough cough, Qin Jiran’s eyes widened, and though he kept his expression calm, inside he found it unbelievable.

When Qin Jiran looked at Su Yanyi again, his eyes were filled with a touch of shock. Su Yanyi calmly said, "Continue."

After stuffing the pillows, Qin Jiran hesitated before also putting the large summer quilt from the bed into the suitcase. Despite being a summer quilt, it was still quite large. Qin Jiran folded it and placed it inside the suitcase, and the same miraculous moment happened once more.

This time, Qin Jiran truly believed that the suitcase could fit items exceeding its own volume. But high technology? Do we really have such magical high-tech now? Why had he never heard of it!

Qin Jiran looked at the glittering golden suitcase and suddenly thought of the equally shiny Little Golden Turtle, remembering its uncanny reaction. He also recalled the tree in the backyard that was growing vigorously, shining gold as if it had been on steroids...

The more Qin Jiran thought about it, the more magical these three words "high technology" seemed to become. These things, he surmised, were probably all products of "high technology" as well!

"Modern technology is becoming more and more amazing, capable of creating anything—truly impressive," Qin Jiran exclaimed sincerely, looking very serious, though there was a slight twitch at the corner of his eye.

Su Yanyi watched as Qin Jiran tried to appear convinced despite having many questions, and though she found it amusing, she also felt a twinge of guilt.

Even though her System could be considered a form of high technology, and thus she wasn’t exactly lying to Qin Jiran, clearly she hadn’t told the whole truth, with some parts glossed over. Particularly, her rebirth and ownership of the System, which had always been her secret, never disclosed to anyone. Before she didn’t see it as problematic since the fewer people who knew, the safer she was—she had no desire for unnecessary trouble. But now, she suddenly felt a bit uncomfortable.

She didn’t want to hide anything from this man. If possible, she wished their relationship to be founded on trust. But the secret was hers, and she didn’t know how to broach the subject. Although she trusted that even if Qin Jiran did find out, it wouldn’t make a difference, she still felt hesitant to speak up, at least for the time being.

"Jiran, I’m hungry, let’s cook," she said.

"Oh, sure, I’ll cook now. What do you feel like? Still want fish soup, or should I make chicken soup?" Qin Jiran knew how to sidestep the topic with a meal, and naturally, Yanyi did too. Both Qin Jiran and Su Yanyi seemed to understand some tacit agreement; if one did not wish to keep talking about it, the other wouldn’t press on.

"I feel like having glutinous ribs and broccoli."

"Alright, I’ll go make it."
