Chapter 575: Chapter 575: The Magical Box (1)
In late June, the "I’m the Best" final competition venue buzzed with life. Although the judging audience remained at five hundred people, the general audience had swelled from three thousand to five thousand. As the judges and contestants took the stage one after another, the cheers were so thunderous they could be deafening, full of enthusiasm.
Tang Ya, Wu Xing, Li Tianchao, Leng Yue, and Xun Wenle were the top five contestants. Among them, Qin Jiran had some understanding of Xun Wenle, a rather versatile contestant: good at singing, decent at dancing, could play some instruments, and had acting experience. However, it was unfortunate that this contestant came from another entertainment company, there to prepare for debut and not to sign with Splendid. Therefore, Qin Jiran didn’t pay much special attention.
The rules of this competition differed from the previous ones; it wasn’t a two-on-two challenge but a performance contest among five individuals. Each performed one act, then eight judges and the live audience scored them. Judges scored on a hundred-point scale, while the five hundred audience judges were equivalent to five hundred points, with each person giving their single vote to the contestant they liked. Rankings were determined by combining these votes with the judges’ scores for each contestant.
The first to take the stage was Leng Yue with a piano solo, breaking into an English song partway through—beautiful and moving, quieting the restlessly spirited crowd to truly appreciate the performance, diluting the competitive tension.
Next was Xun Wenle, whose love song enthralled the audience, wrapping them in its lingering tenderness. Some young girls watched him, eyes shining, proving again that boys who sing love songs are indeed popular.
Li Tianchao was the third performer and brought a creative fusion of modern dance and classical dance—his ultimate specialty. He showcased all his dance skills, earning an incredibly enthusiastic round of applause.
Fourth came Wu Xing, a quintessential sunny boy well-liked by all. Yet, when he took to the stage, he sang a rock song with moves to match, clad in leather. It was a visual surprise that showed a different, stunning side of him. He sang well, danced well, and everything was his own creation, impressively gaining nods of approval from judges, including Qin Jiran.
The last to perform was the only girl among the top five, Tang Ya, whom many fans covertly called Little Queen. With a cool expression and dressed in a pure black dance gown, she finally brought to the "I’m the Best" stage a traditional folk dance, something very much anticipated. Since the competition’s start, she hadn’t performed a true folk dance, making this long-awaited moment all the more significant.
Her black dress may not have been dazzling, but as it fluttered, it traced a beautiful golden curve. Tang Ya’s dance, "Chasing Dreams," commenced within this stunning arc.
Tang Ya had choreographed this dance herself, and even the music was her own creation. It had to be said, the kids these days were truly more talented and astonishing than ever.
Tang Ya’s dance told a story, as the name suggested, seemingly about her own journey of pursuing dreams. It began with a slow rhythm that gradually quickened. The movements were complex—a folk dance that felt like a modern dance, especially with certain moves that blended various aesthetics, challenging categorization. However, this did not detract from the audience’s love for the dance. As they followed along with Tang Ya’s motions, they seemed to witness a young girl’s continuous struggle for her dream, reminding them of their own aspirations. Watching on, they became immersed in the dance.
