Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Starlight Awards Ceremony (1)

After breakfast, Su Yanyi calmly excused herself for an early morning meeting at the company and couldn’t be late, dodging the elders’ inquiries.

Qin Jiran personally drove Yanyi to the company. He drove at half his usual speed, and after only a short while, Su Yanyi couldn’t stand it anymore. She wasn’t fond of fast driving, but this was so slow that even if she didn’t mind, the cars behind them surely did!

"Speed up, don’t make me feel like riding is slower than walking, okay?" Su Yanyi said with resignation.

"I’m just worried that it might make you uncomfortable," Qin Jiran explained. Ever since he found out Yanyi was pregnant, he had been extra cautious with everything, concerned about her comfort.

"This is what makes me uncomfortable. Yes, I’m pregnant, but can you calm down? There’s no need to be so overly cautious; it actually makes me feel worse." Su Yanyi knew the reason for Qin Jiran’s behavior without asking—it was all because of their baby, who’d made its presence known for just one day!

Oh, one day—what an incredibly miraculous number, especially for a pregnant woman!

"Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize. I’m just a little nervous. You know, this is my first time being a father. I’m worried about the baby’s health and whether I can take proper care of you. I don’t know anything and really fear doing something wrong." Qin Jiran wanted to hold Yanyi’s hand but, considering he was driving and for safety’s sake, he refrained, even though it was a simple gesture on any other day.

"It’s okay, I understand. But don’t be nervous, don’t worry. Everything will be fine. Trust me and trust yourself, it will all work out, alright?" Su Yanyi softened her voice to comfort Qin Jiran, intending to ease his anxiety; otherwise, he might stay this anxious for an entire ten months.

"Sigh, I know I’m too nervous, but the thought of you carrying our child just won’t let me relax," Qin Jiran said with a deep breath, still sounding somewhat helpless.

"Then stop thinking about the baby, think of me first. That little one is going to be in my belly for ten months, so you really don’t need to be so concerned about it right now!" Su Yanyi’s voice dropped a little, revealing her slight irritation. After all, she didn’t want her life to be affected by the child from this moment on!

Qin Jiran was taken aback and took a moment to respond before saying, half amused and half in despair, "Alright, I won’t be nervous. Please don’t be annoyed."

"Hmph," Su Yanyi snorted haughtily.

When the two arrived at the company’s underground parking garage, Su Yanyi opened the door and got out of the car on her own. Qin Jiran followed suit.

"Why are you getting out?" Su Yanyi inquired, looking at Qin Jiran. He had his own job, didn’t he?

"I had Fan Linger fill in for me as a mentor. She happens to be free during this period." Qin Jiran explained. He had arranged this that morning while cleaning up the breakfast table.

From the moment he learned of Yanyi’s pregnancy, he had decided to distribute as much of his work as possible to others, unless it was absolutely necessary for him to do it himself. Clearly, to him, nothing was more important than Yanyi!

"And what about you?" What Su Yanyi was concerned about wasn’t who would act as a mentor, but what Qin Jiran intended to do.

"Ahem, that depends on whether you need to add a full-time personal assistant who is available twenty-four hours a day," Qin Jiran offered, seemingly having already found himself a new job. Now it just remained to be seen whether the boss would be willing to hire him.

"I absolutely don’t need one," Su Yanyi rejected the proposal without hesitation. A personal assistant? Why did she feel it sounded more like a personal nanny?
