The day before the Haitian charity performance was a rehearsal day for the numerous participating artists. It wasn’t necessary for the performance to be too detailed; it was just about going through the motions. Not everyone was present; it seemed that several big names wouldn’t show up, leaving only the second and third-tier artists to attend.

However, among them, Qin Jiran was there. Not only was he a performing artist, but he was also one of the organizers. The foundation’s opening ceremony was also taking place there, and as a key member, he was specially invited by Ling Tianyue to come and review the program. Luckily, he didn’t need to perform onstage; he just had to sit and watch the performances.

"Why didn’t Yanyi come? Did you come by yourself?" Ling Tianyue’s first question upon seeing Qin Jiran was as such, seemingly very disappointed.

"You didn’t ask for Yanyi to come." Qin Jiran didn’t remember receiving any notice that he should bring Yanyi with him, and today was just a rehearsal, so there was no need for Yanyi to make the trip.

"I didn’t mention it, but you could have brought her with you. I have things to discuss with her." Ling Tianyue had been thinking for days but couldn’t find a good way to approach Bai Qing, and had thought of asking Su Yanyi for ideas. It was just unfortunate that Su Yanyi wasn’t there that day.

Qin Jiran remained noncommittal, believing that matters between women weren’t his place to interject. He also wasn’t accustomed to talking much with women other than Su Yanyi, especially this woman, who was too familiar for his liking.

"Hey, you don’t need to avoid me like this, scared I’ll eat you?" Ling Tianyue could sense Qin Jiran’s aloofness, which made her quite indignant. Even if Qin Jiran already had someone in his heart, she, a beautiful and charming woman, stood right there, and surely having a normal conversation wouldn’t hurt. But what’s with that disdainful attitude? It was a huge blow to her pride as a beauty!

She received the same treatment from Su Yanyi, and now from Qin Jiran as well. Both were equally stubborn, which she found somewhat unbearable!

Qin Jiran frowned slightly, clearly a bit unhappy about Ling Tianyue calling Su Yanyi a blockhead as well. As for himself, if he was a blockhead, so be it—it wasn’t a derogatory term anyway.

Although a bit displeased, he had no intention of arguing back. He could sense that this woman didn’t have any ill intentions; it was just her nature, so he didn’t want to make a fuss about it.

While the two talked, more and more people began to arrive. Most of them recognized Qin Jiran and Ling Tianyue, so they came over to greet them. Suddenly, there was no more room for conversation between the two, and the atmosphere became harmonious.
