Chapter 402: Chapter 401 Ye Feng’s Gift
Gao Zhiyuan smirked coldly, "So according to what you’re saying, you didn’t prepare a gift?"
Upon hearing Gao Zhiyuan’s words, Zhou Biao and the others became even more embarrassed, their complexions turning extremely unsightly.
The surrounding guests laughed scornfully at Feng and his friends, "You didn’t just come empty-handed, did you?"
At that moment, Gao Qingqing stood up and said with a sarcastic tone, "Ningning, I told you long ago to be careful about who you befriend. You shouldn’t invite just anyone to your home. Look, it’s your birthday and they can’t present anything, they just came empty-handed. Such people really have thick skins!"
Zhang Hang could no longer bear to listen; anger flickered in his eyes, "Bullshit! Who says we didn’t prepare a gift?"
"Oh? You prepared a gift? What gift? Bring it out for everyone to see. What kind of treasure is it that you’ve been reluctant to show for so long? Is it too precious to part with?" Gao Qingqing looked at Zhang Hang and his friends with a mocking face.
"We..." Zhang Hang and his friends fell into awkwardness, thinking of those who had given their gifts earlier, and the necklace they had scrimped together to buy made them very uncomfortable.
"Huh?" Just then, Gao Qingqing noticed the necklace box in Zhang Hang’s hand, "Isn’t that something? Quick, bring it out for everyone to see. Didn’t you bring it?"
Gao Zhiyuan also chuckled disdainfully, "Yeah, since you’ve brought it, show it to everyone. Do you not have the heart to part with it?"
"This..." At this moment, Zhou Biao, Fang Yuan, along with Zhang Hang wore a troubled expression on their faces.
Their gift, compared to those previously given, simply wasn’t presentable.
Gao Ningning smiled, "Since you’ve already brought me a gift, just bring it out. As long as it’s from you, I’ll like it."
After hearing Gao Ningning’s words, Zhou Biao and the others presented their gift.
"Ningning, this is the gift we prepared for you. I hope you won’t find it too humble," Zhou Biao said.
"Thank you!" Gao Ningning accepted their gift with a smile, evidently happy.
"This necklace is very pretty, I like it a lot!" Gao Ningning expressed great satisfaction as she took the necklace out of the box and wore it around her neck without appearing to dislike it at all.
Seeing Gao Ningning’s actions, Zhou Biao and his friends looked at Gao Ningning with gratitude.
"Ningning, thank you!" Zhou Biao and the others appreciated Gao Ningning’s acceptance of their humble gift, and Gao Ningning shook her head, "What are you thanking me for? I should be thanking you."
However, Gao Qingqing looked at the necklace around Gao Ningning’s neck with disdain, "What trash, Ningning, not to criticize you, but you’re the young lady of the Gao Family, representing us. Don’t just wear anything you get; it makes people wonder if the Gao Family cannot afford to provide you with finer things."
Gao Zhiyuan looked on with disdain, "I’ve said it before, hanging out with this sort of riffraff, what good can you expect from them? It’s already not bad that they can give you some street vendor trinkets."
"Who says the only thing we brought is this necklace?" Feng interjected suddenly.
"Oh?" Everyone looked at Feng in surprise, showing curiosity.
"Are you implying that you prepared a gift for Ningning as well?" Gao Zhiyuan looked at Feng with contempt.
"Of course," Feng nodded, noting that Ningning was his cousin, and since he quite liked her, he naturally prepared a gift for her birthday.
"Forget it, no need to take it out," Gao Zhiyuan spoke with scorn. "Even if you prepared a gift, it probably isn’t anything of worth. There’s no need to embarrass yourself, just give it to Ningning privately."
Thinking of the necklace Zhou Biao and the others had presented, Gao Zhiyuan was convinced Feng wouldn’t produce anything noteworthy.
Gao Qingqing echoed the sentiment, "Right, don’t bring out your street vendor junk and embarrass Ningning."
But Feng remained calm, not taking the words of Gao Zhiyuan and Gao Ningning to heart.
"My gift," Feng said coolly, "is more valuable than anything presented here today. Even if all your gifts were combined, they wouldn’t match what I’ve brought for Ningning."
"What!" Upon hearing Feng’s claim, the crowd was stunned and looked at him skeptically.
Everyone looked at Feng, dressed in clothes that didn’t amount to more than six hundred bucks from head to toe; how could he possibly give anything of value? Gao Zhiyuan and the others grew even more incredulous.
"Keep bluffing, take a good look at yourself in the mirror, what kind of gift could you possibly give? Do you know how much all the gifts here are worth? At least ten billion, can a pauper like you even comprehend that?" Gao Zhiyuan stared at Feng coldly, mocking him without mercy, the crowd also showing contempt.
"Just ten billion?" Feng said calmly. "The gift I brought Ningning is worth well beyond ten billion."
Gao Zhiyuan laughed coldly, "Hehe...," clearly disbelieving.
"Ridiculous, a gift worth more than ten billion? Impossible, what are you, delusional?" The people around Feng scoffed, not believing a word he said.
Gao Zhiyuan addressed Feng, "This is the Gao estate, not a place for your tall tales. Remember what you said. I want to see exactly what you’ve prepared that makes you so bold as to claim it’s worth more than ten billion. If I find you’re messing with me, I won’t let you off!"
Feng shook his head, "Do I need to deceive you? Besides, you’re nothing but trash; you can’t do anything to me."
"You’re asking for it!" Gao Zhiyuan glared furiously at Feng, but upon seeing Gao Zhixiang next to Feng, he restrained himself. Gao Qingqing mocked, "Since you claim to have such a valuable treasure, bring it out for us to see what it really is!"
"Fine!" Feng nodded indifferently, as all eyes in the room turned to him. Zhou Biao and his friends became anxious as well.
