Ye Feng had just arrived when he saw Lin Shiyu walking out of the entrance of a government office.

Lin Shiyu’s face was a picture of despair; her makeup smudged and her hair was disheveled. She had lost her usual spirited demeanor. Upon seeing this, Ye Feng’s face instantly darkened.

A terrifying aura emanated from Ye Feng, and the air around them felt as if it had plunged into a deep ice cellar. The temperature plummeted rapidly, and Li Mei’s eyes showed fear, feeling a chill down her spine.

Ye Feng quickly approached Lin Shiyu and pulled her into his arms.

Lin Shiyu, startled, looked up and saw Ye Feng. She finally squeezed out a wan smile.

"You’re here?" Lin Shiyu looked at Ye Feng, her entire demeanor one of exhaustion and grievance.

Ye Feng’s heart ached even more. Ever since he had known Lin Shiyu, he had never seen her so aggrieved.

Lin Shiyu shook her head helplessly with a forced smile, "I’m fine, Ye Feng. Let’s go back and talk."

Finally, after a few minutes, Lin Shiyu stopped crying. Ye Feng helped her to the sofa and asked, "What happened? Didn’t Li Mei say that it was the other person who started it?"

Lin Shiyu nodded, "Yes, she did start it first. I was merely defending myself, but the department head said I used excessive force, accusing me of assaulting an elderly person!"

"Bullshit! What excessive defense? Was she injured?"

"They took her to the hospital for a checkup, and she was fine. Meanwhile, I was the one injured by her," Lin Shiyu said.

Ye Feng also saw the scratch marks on Lin Shiyu’s arm.

His tone turned icy, "Wasn’t there surveillance? Did you make them review the footage?"

Lin Shiyu nodded, "Of course, I showed them, but those government people are in cahoots with the other party. I heard the department head is the father-in-law of the old lady’s niece, and they erased all our surveillance footage!"

"They’re asking for death!" Ye Feng’s anger flared up. Normally unflappable even facing millions of enemies, the sight of Lin Shiyu being wronged fired his fury.

Just then, Ye Feng noticed Lin Shiyu’s entire hand was swollen.

Ye Feng held Lin Shiyu’s hand and asked coldly, "What’s this now?"

"They accused me of hitting an elderly person and wanted to draw blood. The woman took several attempts, jabbing me over ten times, claiming my blood was too low to collect easily. Eventually, they left a criminal record for me, extracted a compensation of three hundred thousand and then let me go."

Lin Shiyu spoke, her tears swirling in her eyes again.

Ye Feng was furious. Even though there was video surveillance which could have cleared things up, he hadn’t expected them to delete the footage and even leave a criminal record for Lin Shiyu. At this moment, all Ye Feng felt was limitless murderous intent.

Slowly, Ye Feng stood up and walked towards the door, and Lin Shiyu anxiously asked, "Ye Feng, where are you going?"

"To kill..." His cold words echoed in the room devoid of any emotion.

Lin Shiyu immediately stopped Ye Feng. "You can’t do this, Ye Feng. I know you know a lot of people, but we’re in Longdu, not Lin Tian City, and that’s a government department. Even if you killed them, it wouldn’t clear my name. What I want is to clear my name, make them regret, be punished, not take their lives."
