The Strongest Mythical Emperor -
Chapter 880 The Holy Bone
Chapter 880: Chapter 880 The Holy Bone
Even with an arm slashed off by Xing Tian, Ji Yongsheng, transformed into an Extreme Flame Demon God, remained motionless, staring intently at Qin Jun.
Qin Jun asked in a deep voice, "What exactly do you mean?"
Their previous frenzied fighting had suddenly come to a stop, leaving Qin Jun unable to fathom Ji Yongsheng’s thoughts.
It was downright maniacal.
Ji Yongsheng twisted his neck, laughing, "I just wanted to come out and play."
As his words fell, the body of the Extreme Flame Demon God suddenly burst apart, stones flying in all directions, and a crimson spine shot out, hurtling rapidly toward Qin Jun.
"Your Majesty, be careful!"
Yang Jian said in a deep voice; as he opened his Supreme Eye, Qin Jun didn’t even have time to speak before a red light shot from the Supreme Eye, hitting the spine. Unfortunately, it did nothing to damage the spine, not even slowing it down.
Qin Jun frowned, not understanding what Ji Yongsheng had in mind.
"By absorbing my spine, you will become stronger!"
Ji Yongsheng’s cold and crisp voice echoed in Qin Jun’s mind, taking him by complete surprise.
"How are you still within my body?" Qin Jun asked in astonishment.
He had thought that Ji Yongsheng had been resurrected.
"Resurrected? Bullshit, I could never be resurrected. I was just using the power of my spine to have a bit of fun," Ji Yongsheng replied irritably.
This left Qin Jun speechless; so everything that had just happened was Ji Yongsheng teasing him.
"My main soul is gone, and this remnant spirit can only last for so long, with no chance of seizing a new host," Ji Yongsheng said helplessly, but then his tone changed to a laugh, "However, your subordinates are indeed impressive, they gave me quite a thrill!"
The smugness in his words made Qin Jun very speechless.
Clearly, relying on a single spine and a remnant spirit to suppress Xing Tian had made him quite proud.
After hesitating for a moment, Qin Jun still had Yang Jian and Sun Wukong stand down, and let the crimson spine of Ji Yongsheng pierce into his body.
Having been with Ji Yongsheng for so long, Qin Jun trusted him quite a bit by this point in their exchange.
If he were to carefully reckon, Ji Yongsheng had always been helping him, and had never done anything to wrong him, even risking the dissolution of his remnant spirit to assist against the Eye of Fate.
Furthermore, with the system present, the idea of a remnant spirit trying to take over a new host was nothing more than a fool’s talk.
"Your Majesty, proceed with caution."
Patriarch Bodhi cautioned meaningfully, and Qin Jun waved his hand to indicate there was nothing to worry about, then the crimson spine pierced directly into his body.
In an instant, a ferocious power burst forth from within him, Samadhi Real Fire uncontrollably spilled out from his body, burning away his white garments in a flash and enveloping him completely.
Sun Wukong and the others watched, tense with anxiety, fearing for Qin Jun’s safety.
Xing Tian reverted back to his normal form and flew over. His face was smeared with blood, and the violent aura and murderous intent on him hadn’t completely faded.
Having his fight abruptly stopped by Ji Yongsheng made him quite grumpy.
He felt a sense of being slighted.
In the distance, Ji Ruyi and a group of elders stared dumbfounded at Qin Jun, now a man of fire, their minds unable to grasp the situation.
Why did the resurrected ancestor suddenly explode, and why did his spine drill into the Holy Emperor of Qin’s body?
Wrapped in Samadhi Real Fire, Qin Jun at that moment looked exactly like Ji Yongsheng before him, both in the state of an Extreme Flame Demon God, domineering and matchless.
"This feeling..."
Qin Jun looked at his own hands, muttering to himself, feeling as if all the blood in his body were on fire, his cultivation skyrocketing wildly.
This sensation of becoming stronger made him feel as if he were on cloud nine, and he almost wished to let out a long howl.
"This spine is my only sacred bone, containing infinite power, I hope it will help you soar to the heavens!"
Ji Yongsheng’s voice sounded anew, his tone filled with fervor as if he already saw Qin Jun ascending above immortals and gods in his name.
Sacred Bone!
Qin Jun’s body trembled, as anyone associated with the title "saint" was extraordinary.
In Huaxia mythology, the peak of power was that of the saints.
Immortal and indestructible, they would survive countless calamities and live as long as the Heavenly Dao!
Could it be that Ji Yongsheng had already begun competing for the position of a saint before his death?
Before Qin Jun could ponder further, a wild power surged from within his body and rushed straight into the Sea of Consciousness in his brain, plunging his awareness into chaos.
Whoosh—
The Samadhi Real Fire surged wildly, and his Inferno Devil God form also grew taller, shocking Sun Wukong and the others beyond measure.
"That feeling again..."
Sun Wukong murmured to himself, recalling the aura Qin Jun had released while confronting the Eye of Fate.
Xing Tian’s bushy eyebrows knit together fiercely, sensing that the essence of Qin Jun’s aura was identical to Ji Yongsheng’s. Was it possible?
"The divine form of the ancestor... Could the Holy Emperor of Qin really be the reincarnation of the ancestor?"
"Impossible... If he were the ancestor reincarnated, why would he suppress our Ji Family?"
"This aura... It has a feeling of bloodline suppression..."
"What exactly is going on?"
"I can’t understand either, why did the ancestor start a battle with Holy Emperor of Qin’s men after coming back to life?"
The distant cultivators discussed animatedly; anyone who shared even a trace of Ji Yongsheng’s bloodline, looking upon Qin Jun, couldn’t help but feel an unstoppable reverence.
Ji Ruyi, in particular, was trembling all over, her legs weak, and she felt an almost irresistible urge to kneel before Qin Jun.
"Could he really be the ancestor..."
Ji Ruyi uttered tremblingly, while the elders beside her were similarly overwhelmed; within the Ji Family, the higher one’s cultivation, the purer their bloodline was presumed to be.
In the face of Ji Yongsheng’s spine, none of their descendants dared to show any disrespect towards Ji Yongsheng in their bloodline.
If Qin Jun truly were the reincarnation of Ji Yongsheng, they wouldn’t dare to offend.
Thirteen thousand years of heritage and education prevented them from defying their ancestor Ji Yongsheng.
...
In a daze, Qin Jun opened his eyes.
To his astonishment, he found himself standing atop a city wall, facing a vast, deserted land that stretched to the horizon. The wall was a hundred zhang high, a chasm as if separating heaven and earth, while the sky at dusk seemed scorched by raging flames, eerily beautiful and majestic.
"Master, the Cat People Clan surely wouldn’t dare to offend our Sacred Court."
A childish girl’s voice came from behind him. Qin Jun instinctively turned to look and saw a six or seven-year-old girl standing behind him, with a delicate face and short hair that reached her ears, giving her a lively and quirky appearance. She was dressed in a petite black outfit that didn’t quite reach Qin Jun’s waist.
Master?
Qin Jun was utterly baffled and instinctively looked around to see iron-clad soldiers standing solemnly on the city wall, stretching endlessly to both left and right, uncountable in number.
"What’s going on?"
Qin Jun was perplexed. Hadn’t he just been basking in the power granted by Ji Yongsheng’s spine?
Why was he here now? Could this be a dream?
"Ji Yongsheng! Come out and face your death!"
A domineering cry of outrage came from the sky, and Qin Jun turned to look, only to see a towering giant slowly approaching from the end of the earth. He stood thousands of zhang tall, with a burly physique, his long hair twisting in the air like Sea Dragons, and beast ears on his head. His muscles looked ready to burst through his clothes, almost like a demon god.
Qin Jun was shocked as this being bore a strong resemblance to the Cataclysmic Demon Emperor.
The progenitor of the Cat People, the Cataclysmic Demon Emperor...
Except he looked much younger.
