The Strongest Mythical Emperor -
Chapter 843: The Great Emperor and the Old Master
Chapter 843: Chapter 843: The Great Emperor and the Old Master
"How could the Old Taoist, a being of such vast Divine Power, possibly fall and reincarnate?"
Yang Chan shook her head with a smile; they, the summoned God and Demon, all possessed memories of living in this world, equivalent to living another life.
For her, the memory of the Old Taoist was deeply etched; he was a sage standing above all the realms, even the Heavenly Emperor had to show respect.
She merely thought she was overthinking.
If the Old Taoist were to come to the battlefield, these so-called powerful beings wouldn’t stand a chance!
Although Qin Jun was furious, there was nothing he could do; without the Old Taoist coming to the rescue, it was impossible to drive away the Sword Master and Randeng.
On the other side, Randeng finally started to exert his strength; familiar with the Sword Master’s moves, he began to counterattack.
The grade of the Universe Measure far exceeded that of the Sword Master’s sword, higher and nothing less!
Clang—
With a twist, Randeng wielded the Universe Measure and slammed it onto the Sword Master’s dual swords, the force of the impact sent him flying, and Randeng pursued relentlessly, seizing the advantage.
Boom, boom, boom!
The rolling thunderclouds churned ceaselessly; as Randeng and the Sword Master moved, lightning bolts followed suit, striking down and shattering the ground, causing soldiers from both armies to flee in all directions.
The ground of the Demon Waste trembled wildly; from a high vantage, one would see the earth cracking rapidly, and the soldiers, lost in their rage, failed to notice.
In their eyes, there were only enemies, and in their hearts, only the desire to kill the enemy.
"Amitabha Buddha..."
Tathāgata chanted softly, rather embarrassed, watching Randeng and the Sword Master fiercely battling. He and the Nether Emperor hesitated about whom to fight; each time their eyes met, they felt uneasy.
They should have been the protagonists, yet now they could only watch from the sidelines.
Impatiently, the Nether Emperor waved his hand and sent the Red-Bottomed Horse Monkey flying once again; he truly wanted to slap the monkey to death, but with the situation tense, his attention primarily rested on Randeng and the Sword Master.
"Are the Sword Master and Randeng actually stronger than the Nether Emperor?"
"Are you blind? Neither of them has beaten the other, all right?"
"Things don’t look good for both King Yan Palace and the Netherworld!"
"Randeng is too powerful, first holding his own against Tathāgata and the Nether Emperor, now battling the Sword Master, he’s simply invincible!"
"Speaking of which, where on earth did this Randeng come from? It feels like he just burst onto the scene out of nowhere!"
The creatures watching the battle discussed fervently as the fight grew more intense, forcing them to retreat. The earth below continued to collapse, revealing bottomless pits that seemed to reach the core of the earth.
At the same time, on the western horizon, a man in red was strolling toward them. He had a handsome face with an expression of indifference that conveyed an air of scorn for the world; he was none other than the Emperor of Heavenly Destiny.
He frowned and murmured, "These guys have gone too far."
He could see that the ground of the Demon Waste was already overwhelmed; if the fight continued, destruction was inevitable, even affecting other realms.
It seemed to have little effect on the universe as a whole, and while the Emperor of Heavenly Destiny was not a kind-hearted person, he understood the reasoning: if word of this battle spread, other top powerhouses would certainly not sit idly by, joining the epoch of great strife. Today it is the Demon Waste, tomorrow it could be the Endless Sea or the Burnt Waste; the Heavenly Dao was bound to collapse sooner or later.
Though he wished for a heaven-breaking breakthrough, he didn’t want to see this world destroyed.
He must intervene today and also issue a warning to the people.
Fighting is permissible, but not at the risk of harming the world.
As he pondered this, he casually walked on, his presence resembling that of an ordinary person, not attracting the attention of the Nether Emperor and the others.
Amidst the blaze of fire and flashes of lightning, no creature noticed his arrival.
If the world’s foremost were to appear, it would definitely cause a tremendous sensation.
The Emperor of Heavenly Destiny did not walk quickly, nor was he in a hurry to take immediate action; instead, he began to observe Qin Jun, who was in the midst of the battlefield.
"Is that Yan Emperor? Quite young," the Emperor of Heavenly Destiny muttered to himself, his eyes filled with curiosity.
This Yan Emperor and the Holy Emperor of Qin really do resemble each other, both being young yet pulling together such a large force, but he didn’t believe that all the strong ones in the world had changed their tastes, favoring allegiance to youngsters.
"Someone is spying on you!"
Ji Yongsheng’s voice suddenly resounded in Qin Jun’s mind, causing his brows to furrow as he once again swung out the Great Zhou Heavenly Sea Palm with both hands.
"It’s normal to be spied on when you’re surrounded by enemies," Qin Jun thought nonchalantly.
He was, however, anxious for the Sword Master and Randeng to leave.
What a pair of troublemakers!
Qin Jun grinded his teeth with irritability, wondering why the Great Master Tathāgata hadn’t arrived yet, especially since the Red-Bottomed Horse Monkey had already made it.
"The one spying on you is very strong, unfathomable, you must be careful," Ji Yongsheng spoke with a gravity that filled his voice.
Upon hearing this, Qin Jun suddenly felt uneasy.
Damn it!
Could it be that another unparalleled powerhouse has come to meddle?
Meanwhile, in the east, an old Taoist was approaching. His hair was white, he was dressed in a modest grey and white Taoist robe, and he held a Dust Brush in his hand. He looked toward the war ahead with an expressionless face.
"The killing calamity is upon us, and that thread of destiny concerning me, could it be related to this calamity?"
The old Taoist muttered to himself. He was the very Tathāgata whom Qin Jun had summoned.
Unlike his true self, Laozi, who values the Great Way’s emotionlessness, he has his own independent thoughts and, sensing a certain karmic connection with Qin Jun, he didn’t ignore it but was instead somewhat curious.
That’s why he came to have a look.
Looking at the four Netherworld Emperors, his expression didn’t waver, and his gaze quickly shifted, settling on the Emperor of Heavenly Destiny who was coming from the west, despite the hundred-mile distance between them.
The Emperor of Heavenly Destiny also noticed his arrival.
"Eh? His cultivation..."
The Emperor of Heavenly Destiny let out a surprised sound, stopping in his tracks.
Late stage of Luoshi Immortal Realm!
Since when did such a powerful being appear in this world?
Although Tathāgata couldn’t see through the Emperor of Heavenly Destiny for the moment, he still strolled towards Qin Jun.
Boom—
A colossal Wolf Demon rushed from the void, its towering figure unstoppable, causing the already fractured earth to violently shake and stones to scatter into the sky.
Just as it seemed to be about to collide with Tathāgata, he flickered, sidestepping the footfalls of the Wolf Demon like a teleport, appearing a kilometer away. With another step, he covered another kilometer, rapidly closing the distance to Qin Jun.
Yang Chan, who was guarding behind Qin Jun, caught a glimpse of Tathāgata from the corner of her eye; she was struck as if by lightning, freezing on the spot. In that moment, a Netherworld Soldier came swinging its blade at her.
Bang!
Qin Jun swatted the Netherworld Soldier away with a palm, grabbed Yang Chan by the waist, and chided, "What are you daydreaming about!"
He saw the incredulous look on Yang Chan’s face and instinctively followed her gaze, and ecstasy surged within him.
The Great Master Tathāgata had arrived!
Qin Jun, unable to contain his excitement, pulled Yang Chan as they flew toward Tathāgata, the Netherworld Soldiers attacking them along the way being shredded by the Wheel of Heavenly Dao.
Tathāgata walked through the battlefield with an air of calm and ease, not even brandishing his Dust Brush, yet the Netherworld Soldiers were somehow unable to even touch the hem of his robe.
Soon, Tathāgata reached Qin Jun and spoke softly, "The old Taoist feels a connection with you, and thus, came to see."
Yang Chan was still looking at Tathāgata with a stunned expression, as if she’d seen a ghost, her body beginning to tremble.
She subconsciously wanted to kneel before Tathāgata, but was steadied by Qin Jun.
