The Strongest Mythical Emperor
Chapter 658: Divine Beast

Chapter 658: Chapter 658: Divine Beast

"Luo Shixin is a strong fighter of the Daluo Realm, freshly arrived and now appointed as a Fourth Rank Battle General!"

Qin Jun issued the order directly, and no one in the hall dared to object, as warriors from the Daluo Realm deserved such an exception.

While Luo Shixin felt somewhat regretful, seeing the likes of Hou Yi and the others, he let it go, realizing that this Great Qin Heavenly Court was strong and worthy of proving himself through strength.

"Yuanba!"

At the shift in Qin Jun’s tone, Li Yuanba promptly raised his head, his face awkward, knowing what was due was bound to come.

"Your rash actions nearly brought disaster. As punishment, you are to run ten laps around the administrative streets of the Holy City. While doing so, shout that you dare not act recklessly ever again!"

Qin Jun spoke with a face as cold as frost. The grand hall fell silent; Li Yuanba’s eyes widened in shock, a look of sheer disbelief on his face.

"Did I hear that wrong? He’s to run around the entire city..." Sun Wukong hesitantly asked, which immediately provoked laughter from the others.

Even Luo Shixin couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed the Emperor was not as stern as he appeared on the surface.

"Your Majesty..." Li Yuanba hastily called out. He would take tens of thousands of cane strokes without fear, but the humiliation was worse than death for him.

Qin Jun raised his hand, signaling him to speak no further, while pointing in the direction of the Junzheng Hall’s grand doors.

Li Yuanba’s face was the picture of despair. He started to speak but stopped, seeing the uncompromising look on Qin Jun’s face, leaving him no option but to numbly turn and walk away.

"Make sure your voice is loud enough for the entire Southern Domain Heavenly World to hear!" Sun Wukong said with a strange laugh, infuriating Li Yuanba to the point of trembling.

A smile spread across Luo Shixin’s face, and the irritation he had felt vanished, replaced by a sense of belonging.

At the very least, this Great Qin Heavenly Court had a sense of camaraderie.

The dramatic episode with Li Yuanba marked Luo Shixin’s initiation, and that day, everyone in the Holy City could hear Li Yuanba’s resentful cries. The cultivators who had just arrived at the Holy City were utterly confused, thinking there was some injustice afoot.

When they learned the source of the cries was Li Yuanba, their first reaction was disbelief.

The incident became the talk of the town and a source of amusement.

...

Eight days passed in a flash.

On this day, as Qin Jun was practicing his swordplay, he suddenly stopped, as a system prompt resounded in his mind:

"Ding! Side quest completed—Dominate the Southernmost Sea! You’ve gained one God and Demon summoning opportunity!"

Qin Jun arched an eyebrow; well before the Ten Realms Banquet, the conflicts in the Southernmost Sea were drawing to a close, finally concluding today.

Daji and Liu Ruolai, who were sitting nearby in the courtyard, looked towards him with curiosity. Daji asked with a puzzled expression, "Your Majesty, why have you stopped?"

While other Saint Consorts busied themselves with various matters, Daji, as the Saint Empress, had the principal task of managing the harem. However, Qin Jun’s harem was sparsely populated at present, so she was happy to have leisure time.

Liu Ruolai, risking rapid deterioration of her life force, was not suited for cultivation at the moment, and so they often spent time together, having developed a close relationship, addressing each other as sisters.

"It’s nothing, just felt a slight epiphany," Qin Jun turned and smiled.

Even with his now peerless talent, advancing to the second tier of the True Immortal Realm after the breakthrough was a long and difficult journey.

Daji and Liu Ruolai exchanged glances, recognizing the pride in each other’s eyes; their man was a cut above the rest.

Then, Qin Jun sheathed his Seven Star Sword and walked towards the pavilion.

Just at that moment, a black figure suddenly appeared before him, startling Daji and Liu Ruolai to their feet.

A wry smile tugged at the corner of Qin Jun’s mouth as he said helplessly, "Why is it you again!"

The newcomer was none other than the Black Butterfly Fairy.

Qin Jun nearly despaired in his heart, wondering what was the use of a celestial spirit if it allowed the Black Butterfly Fairy to come and go as she pleased.

It seemed that every existence from the Daluo Realm who ventured into the Southern Domain Heavenly World found it all too easy, as if entering an uninhabited land.

Upon sighting the Black Butterfly Fairy, Daji’s brows furrowed with displeasure. Although she had met the fairy before, she remained hostile towards her.

Liu Ruolai, however, was somewhat in awe of the Black Butterfly Fairy, for the woman’s strength was unfathomable and she was a leader amongst her peers. Moreover, she had helped Qin Jun multiple times.

"Oh? It seems like you do not wish to see me?" the Black Butterfly Fairy said with a light laugh, her beautiful eyes twinkling with an enigmatic smile from behind her mask.

She completely disregarded Daji and the other woman as if the only people present in the garden were her and Qin Jun.

"Each time you seek an audience, it’s never just for a casual chat," Qin Jun said with a slight smile, pondering inwardly that this time he must find out how to reach the God Temple.

Despite having defeated Divine Wuji, he remained clueless about the location of the God Temple and how to approach it.

This troubled Qin Jun greatly.

"You know it well. I need your help—or rather, your subordinates’ assistance," the Black Butterfly Fairy said, her gaze locked on Qin Jun, intense and unwavering.

Qin Jun’s curiosity piqued. The old witch seemed capable of anything. Why would she need his help?

A hunch struck Qin Jun, and he raised an eyebrow as he asked, "Is it for the God Temple?"

Daji looked on, frowning at the exchange between the Black Butterfly Fairy and Qin Jun. She felt indignant inside.

She resented being a mere spectator; she wanted to stand by Qin Jun’s side, to face the tribulations together, not hide behind him, worrying.

"Correct, the enmity between you and the God Temple ended with Divine Wuji’s retreat. I hope you can put past grievances aside. Once the task is accomplished, I will reward you," the Black Butterfly Fairy continued, with the gentle breeze rustling the surrounding trees.

The Royal Garden was laid out with special formations that could accommodate the growth of various flowers and trees. As the wind blew, petals from peach blossoms, willow leaves, pear blossoms, and others drifted by, creating a portrait of an ethereal realm.

Qin Jun narrowed his eyes and walked past the Black Butterfly Fairy into the pavilion, sitting between Daji and Liu Ruolai and wrapping his arms around them, he asked with a smile, "What’s the matter?"

An odd light flashed in the Black Butterfly Fairy’s eyes, and her hand clenched tightly within her sleeve, but her voice remained light and carefree as she smiled and said, "Our Divine Beast of the God Temple is about to awaken its bloodline. Many powers will surely covet it, and I hope you can send support."

Currently, the God Temple was down to just her and Zun Rudao, two Daluo beings. To protect the Divine Beast was all but a fool’s dream.

Upon hearing this, Qin Jun’s pupils immediately constricted.

The Divine Beast referred to by the Black Butterfly Fairy was likely the Torch Dragon.

According to what Nangong Lietian of the Abyss Sect had said, the Torch Dragon was the God Temple’s legacy Divine Beast, which had already been reclaimed by the God Temple.

But the Torch Dragon had already formed an emotional bond with Qin Jun, one he naturally couldn’t forget.

"May I take part?" Qin Jun inquired.

Liu Ruolai only had half a year left to live, and presently he lacked the strength to travel to the Western Region, so he must find every possible way to enhance his own strength or power.

"You?" The Fairy hesitated, not out of fear of Qin Jun scheming, but out of concern for his safety.

Yet seeing Qin Jun’s confident posture, she couldn’t help but feel vexed and snorted, "You may. You have three days to prepare. We will set off afterward. Lastly, there will be two more Daluo."

Two more Daluo?

Qin Jun couldn’t help but laugh, provocatively asking, "Aren’t you afraid I will cause chaos in the God Temple and destroy it?"

The new Temple Lord, Zun Rudao, was just a beginning-stage Golden Immortal. Any two individuals Qin Jun chose to send would easily defeat him.
