Chapter 233: Shifting Divine Power

Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Shifting Divine Power

Two God and Demon summoning opportunities!

One God and Demon Legion summoning chance!

One random lucky draw opportunity!

One skill inheritance chance!

Qin Jun inwardly clicked his tongue, the richer the task rewards, the more difficult the task implied, indicating the might of Destiny Pavilion far exceeded his imagination.

However, there were no penalties for this mission, nor were there any time requirements, so he felt no pressure.

Upon receiving the side quest, Qin Jun’s mood improved, and he even began to hum a tune.

Daji and the others were already used to it; this fellow’s mood was always unpredictable. Besides, obtaining information about the Divine Beast this time, his elation was understandable.

...

The sun sets in the west.

Qin Jun and Daji were seated at the table while Li sat bored on the bed, toying with her hair; as for Roaring Sky Dog, Sha Wujing, and Red Boy, they were naturally in the adjacent guest room.

"These messages are too scattered, spread across various places. Could it be that there is more than one Divine Beast?"

Daji frowned slightly as she spoke. The Black Dragon Kingdom was immense; if they were to search based on these messages, when would they ever find the beast?

Qin Jun didn’t speak but instead gazed at the map on the table, a complete map of the Black Dragon Kingdom he had purchased from the market.

"Haven’t you noticed the timing of these messages?" Qin Jun said as he fixated on the map.

Daji looked at him puzzled, only to hear him say, "According to the timeline, these messages line up to form the route that the Divine Beast is advancing through."

As soon as these words were uttered, Daji hurriedly looked at the map. With cultivation levels like theirs, they could easily remember anything they saw. After cross-referencing the information and timelines in her mind, she too discovered the breakthrough Qin Jun had spoken of.

Indeed, they could form a line!

"I didn’t expect you to be this clever!" Daji said with surprise as she looked at Qin Jun, who merely curled his lips in response.

It was just simple deduction!

It’s not that I’m smart; it’s that you’re not careful enough!

Qin Jun mocked inwardly, though he wouldn’t dare say it out loud to avoid Daji tearing him apart.

"The messages stop one week ago. The daily reports meant the Divine Beast has stayed in the last known location."

Qin Jun pointed to the map, following his index finger’s direction, which marked a range of mountains named the Fiery Flow Mountain Range.

The Fiery Flow Mountain Range wasn’t far from them, only dozens of miles away.

"Shall we set out for the Fiery Flow Mountain Range tomorrow?" Daji asked.

Qin Jun nodded, then stood up to store the map and jade slip into his storage ring.

Stretching lazily, Qin Jun smiled at Daji and said, "We should get some early rest tonight!"

"Don’t try any funny business, or I’ll make you regret it!" Daji rolled her eyes and said. Qin Jun deliberately did not book separate rooms for them, intending for the three to sleep together at night.

"As the lady wishes." Qin Jun rubbed his hands together, smiling, but inside he was thinking about what to do once the lights were out.

He had already found an excuse!

He’ll say that he can’t control his hands and feet in his sleep and likes to touch things randomly!

A brilliant idea!

...

Early the next morning, Qin Jun and his companions got up at dawn.

Stepping out of their room, as everyone met, Red Boy asked curiously, "Your Highness, why does your face look somewhat swollen?"

Only when asked did the others notice that Qin Jun’s right face was visibly swollen. Qin Jun coughed falsely and laughed it off, "I ran into a little mishap while practicing last night."

"Pfft—"

Li couldn’t help but laugh aloud, and Daji also looked at him with amusement.

Without guessing, they knew the swelling on Qin Jun’s face was Daji’s handiwork.

"This woman doesn’t know how to go easy with her hands." Qin Jun thought sullenly as he stared at Daji.

Playing with her hair coquettishly, Daji winked at Qin Jun, her eyes brimming with myriad amorous expressions.

Sha Wujing was a reticent character, Red Boy, due to his physical constraints, didn’t understand matters of men and women, and Roaring Sky Dog, accustomed to such sights, thus didn’t dwell much on the topic.

After leaving the inn, the group found themselves in a deserted alley where Sha Wujing once again recited that mysterious incantation incomprehensible to Qin Jun. As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Jun felt the world spin, and when he opened his eyes again, they were above the clouds.

"Wujing, is this a Divine Power or a spell?" Qin Jun asked, unable to contain his curiosity.

"Just a simple translocation Divine Power," Sha Wujing smiled, causing Qin Jun’s interest to immediately wane.

Spells are manageable, as one can practice them, but Divine Powers require comprehension. Cultivating a single Divine Power could take at least decades, and after all, not everyone is Sun Wukong, who could raise Havoc in Heaven after only decades of training.

Sun Wukong, born from a stone on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, was an unparalleled super-genius.

Sometimes, Qin Jun couldn’t help but wonder if this impetuous monkey had trained for a few more centuries, perhaps Tathāgata would be the one subdued under his feet.

But there are no ifs in life.

Divine Powers require too much time, and besides, Qin Jun was self-aware, so he didn’t plan on learning from Sha Wujing.

It was better to rely on random draws or skill inheritance; he had easily comprehended even the 36 Heavenly Transformations thanks to the system.

Having such a big ace up his sleeve and not using it would be foolish!

The journey was silent.

Dozens of miles were not a long distance for Sha Wujing’s Cloud-Ascending technique; they arrived in minutes.

"If I could draw Sun Wukong’s Somersault Cloud, that would be amazing."

Qin Jun looked down at the Fiery Flow Mountain Range below and sighed, thinking of the legend famous through the ages: a leap of ten thousand and eight thousand li!

It must be said, although Sun Wukong knew few Divine Powers and possessed few treasures, each was extraordinary.

"Your Highness, let me scan the area with my Divine Consciousness first!"

Sha Wujing offered, his Divine Consciousness at the ninth level of the Immortal Realm capable of easily covering the entire Fiery Flow Mountain Range.

Qin Jun nodded, and Sha Wujing closed his eyes, with everyone patiently waiting on the misty cloud.

Below, the mountains and forests echoed with the roars of demonic beasts; even flying demonic birds emerged, but being far more keenly perceptive than cultivators of the same level, none of the demonic beasts dared approach Qin Jun and his companions.

Soon enough, Sha Wujing opened his eyes and frowned, "I didn’t sense any overwhelmingly powerful beings. Your Highness, are you sure the Divine Beast is hiding below?"

He was unable to detect qi movement, so even if a Divine Beast were indeed present, it would appear no different from a demonic beast to his Divine Consciousness.

The Fiery Flow Mountain Range was vast, with tens of thousands of demonic beasts.

"Let’s go down and have a look," Qin Jun said, gazing at the ground below. Sha Wujing nodded, then controlled the cloud to descend.

Before long, the group had alighted atop a mountain peak, from where they could roughly survey the lay of the nearby forests.

"It seems we’re not the only ones who guessed the path of the Divine Beast."

Qin Jun’s lips curved upward, and not just him, the others too sensed the presence of cultivators, numerous and scattered throughout the woods, seemingly in search of something.

Roar—

Just then, a ferocious roar burst forth from the northern woods. Instinctively looking that way, they saw a massive creature leap out of the forest. It resembled a small mountain with a red mane—the look of a lion—but shockingly, it had two heads and spat flames from its maw.

Standing atop the two-headed red lion was a man clad in straw rain gear.
