The Strongest Mythical Emperor -
Chapter 145: Ghost God
Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Ghost God
"You all continue eating, I have something to take care of and will first return to my room!"
Qin Jun stood up and said, then swiftly turned and walked towards the staircase at a brisk pace. His abnormal behavior left everyone exchanging puzzled looks.
"Let it be, Your Highness also has private affairs, we’ll continue with our meal." Evening Star waved his hand with a smile.
Unnoticed, he had become the most authoritative person in the group besides Qin Jun—first because of his age, and second, his strength. The rest of the God and Demon respected him greatly.
The crowd nodded, no longer curious about what Qin Jun was doing returning to his room.
...
Back in his room, Qin Jun sat at the table and rubbed his hands together, "System, start the summoning!"
It absolutely had to be explosive!
Preferably a great god above the Earth Immortal Realm!
"Ding! Initiating random summoning of God and Demon now!"
After the system’s voice sounded, there came a silence that made Qin Jun anxious.
At this point, he wasn’t begging for great gods like Monkey Brother, Erlang Shen, or Nezha; he just hoped they wouldn’t be weak.
The Evening Star had reached the Immortal Realm, and there were plenty of great gods stronger than him. Who knows how many realms there are after the Immortal Realm, but that simply made it more challenging!
"Ding! Congratulations, host, for summoning Black and White Impermanence from folklore!"
Black and White Impermanence?
Qin Jun’s expression solidified, then he burst into ecstasy.
It was not Black Impermanence or White Impermanence!
It was Black and White Impermanence!
Which meant, just like when he summoned the Evening Star, he had summoned two God and Demon at once!
It couldn’t feel any better!
Qin Jun was beside himself with excitement, quickly asking the system to bring up the attribute list for Black and White Impermanence:
"Black and White Impermanence, from folklore."
"Race: Ghost God!"
"Cultivation: Third level of the Earth Immortal Realm!"
"Cultivation method: Black and White Ghost Control Method!"
"Divine Power: Yin and Yang Escape Technique! Commanding Ghost Messengers! Soul-Stealing Chains!"
"Artifact: Soul-Stealing Scythe! Soul-chaining Chain! Soul-Subduing Handcuffs!"
"Loyalty: 95 (max value 100)!"
Third level of Earth Immortal Realm!
It meant their cultivation was stronger than Li Bai, Roaring Sky Dog, Daji, Li, Fa Hai, Guan Yu, and Li Yuanba!
However, Black and White Impermanence were lesser gods to hold such cultivation, and besides, Li Bai, Roaring Sky Dog, Daji, and Li Yuanba hadn’t reached their peak yet. Qin Jun estimated that they might break through to the Immortal Realm someday, especially Roaring Sky Dog and Li Yuanba—it wouldn’t be an issue for them to reach the Immortal Realm. As for Li, she was inherently a freakish existence.
Guan Yu and Fa Hai, though, had reached their limits. The former was just a gatekeeper general in the heavens, while the latter was only active within the Legend of the White Snake, suggesting there wasn’t much room for their improvement.
In both the mythology world and this one, it wasn’t the case that cultivating constantly meant continuously breaking through.
You see that most cultivators spend their whole lives stranded before the gates of the Golden Elixir Realm. Talent is crucial, and of course, there are some with heaven-defying qi movement.
"How come there’s only one attribute list?" Qin Jun asked puzzled.
Weren’t Black and White Impermanence two entities?
Or could it be... a singular Ghost God named Black and White Impermanence?
The thought alone brought Qin Jun a sense of profound disappointment.
"Although Black and White Impermanence are two entities, they share the same origin and divine position, with identical attributes, hence there’s no need to list them separately," the system explained, which finally eased Qin Jun’s worries.
The idea of having summoned two ghost gods at the third level of the Earth Immortal Realm stirred excitement within him.
"Will Black and White Impermanence also arrive within a day?" Qin Jun asked, struggling to contain his excitement.
No sooner had he finished speaking than two ghostly figures emerged behind him, one black, one white. The two ghosts were dressed exactly alike except for the color differentiation. Their skins matched the colors of their clothes, their eyes blood-red as if they were always on the brink of bleeding, and their long tongues, alongside their faces, sent shivers down anyone’s spine. Each held chains and shackles in their hands, exuding a chilling presence.
A chill ran down Qin Jun’s neck, and he looked back on instinct. Damn, his scalp nearly exploded, and in haste, he stumbled backwards and knocked over the table.
Anyone would be scared half to death if they suddenly turned around to see two long-tongued ghosts, but even so, Qin Jun took it rather well given the circumstances.
"Damn, can’t you make your entrance less frightening?" Qin Jun cursed while clutching his chest. In response, Black and White Impermanence merely grinned eerily.
After a while, as Qin Jun regained his composure, he began to assess Black and White Impermanence. Their appearance was indeed intimidating, and the more he looked, the more satisfied he became.
"Speaking of which, have you always been hiding in Luoyan City?" Qin Jun asked curiously, wanting to hear the memory backstory the system had implanted for Black and White Impermanence.
"We two were originally solitary ghosts, blessed by Your Highness’s ancestors with great kindness, enabling us to develop our abilities. We happened to arrive in Luoyan City recently and witnessed Your Highness’s grace, so we especially came to pledge our loyalty," Black Impermanence licked his lips and chuckled.
Such a powerful background!
Ancestors—Who knows if that refers to eight generations back, or eighteen? It was an unassailable explanation, and Qin Jun couldn’t help but admire the system.
"It’s just... with your current appearance," Qin Jun hesitated, knowing that if he brought Black and White Impermanence along, it would surely scare a ton of people to death!
"Rest assured, Your Highness, we know the Yin and Yang Escape Technique which allows us to roam between the realms. We will stay in the underworld or in the shadows; if Your Highness requires our assistance, just ring this bell. This bell is called the Soul-Calling Bell, and upon hearing its ring, we will hasten to your side," White Impermanence handed Qin Jun a pitch-black iron bell.
Qin Jun took the Soul-Calling Bell and gave it a gentle shake, finding its ringing peculiarly eerie, so much so that even he was slightly entranced by it.
What a treasure!
Qin Jun was overjoyed, but he realized he couldn’t infuse it with his spiritual energy. It seemed that Black and White Impermanence had only lent it for his use.
"Right, being ghost gods, will cultivators sense your presence?" Qin Jun stored the Soul-Calling Bell in the mythology space provided by the system—a treasure like this should be kept extra secret.
"They will not. Even if faced with an Immortal Realm powerhouse, they won’t sense us as long as we don’t come within three meters of them," Black Impermanence said with a smile that caused a shiver to run down one’s back.
His words were clearly hinting at Evening Star.
Qin Jun grew even more pleased. No wonder they were some of the most well-known ghost gods in the Underworld, save for the King of Hell himself. Truly impressive.
"Alright, you may leave now. If I need you, I won’t hesitate to call," Qin Jun said with a wave of his hand, smiling. Black and White Impermanence appearing with a loyalty of ninety-five made him very happy.
Black and White Impermanence bowed slightly and then vanished into the floor—a sight that left Qin Jun envious.
The Yin and Yang Escape Technique, hmm? Once your loyalty is complete, I’ll definitely learn it and see for myself what the underworld has in store.
"Getting two at once really feels great. In the future, I should think of those God and Demon known for teaming up," Qin Jun mused, stroking his chin.
The Six Brothers of Plum Mountain? Hmm, maybe even summon Erlang Shen and form the Seven Sages of Plum Mountain.
The Seven Calabash Brothers? Hmm, that’s good too—they can combine into a small diamond.
The Seven Fairy Maidens?
Oh damn, no, if I summon them all at once, I worry I might not be able to resist!
The more Qin Jun thought about it, the more excited he became. In the future, he could have Black and White Impermanence go after his enemies and be like King Yue declaring, "You’re appointed to die at the third watch of the night, and who dares to keep you until the fifth?"
