Chapter 26: King Vs Ace (The Interference)
Ren threw his backpack to the floor, heading towards Reyy who so mightily stood on the arena, reassuring him with an evil smirk. Why had he done this? Challenging him in the presence of the whole school?
Ren knew Reyy was probably in support of the idea that Michael should’ve been dealt with for laying a finger on Elvis, but instead, he gave him a go ahead to himself, and now stopping him in his tracks and twisting the plot.
The Ace studied Reyy’s gesture, his smile was more than just evil, it contained satisfaction, the kind of satisfaction a man would get whenever his plans seemed to be playing out fine.
Somehow, he figured he was a pawn in Reyy’s big chess game, and because he wasn’t ready to accept that demeaning task—
He wasn’t going to lose to Reyy.
"I was gonna overlook your offence if you hadn’t come." Reyy was direct, speaking as soon as Ace stepped onto the ring. "But this only means you do want to question my authority."
Ren shrugged. "What do I have to lose? Someone’s gotta take responsibility around here."
"The subject must never question the king’s processes. Didn’t you read that decree in Wisteria’s policies?" Reyy asked.
"I don’t read books, I beat up assholes." Ren glowered at the King, his eyes brimming with intense blue. "Besides, I haven’t seen any processes, all I see is an ignorant King who would sacrifice anyone to get what he wants."
Ren felt a punch jab swipe up his jaw, throwing him off by a bit. But he was quick, so he gained himself and threw an even punch at Reyy, one that grazed into his cheekbone.
By now, Wisteria’s students had began flowing into the Arena, all astonished as they all saw the duo fighting. Some cheered immediately as their insatiable hunger for violence washed through them immediately.
Ren went invisible, the wild breeze— the only evidence of his speed as he attacked Reyy from all areas. Some, the King parried or dodged, but Ren was still too fast, his various kicks crashing into the back of his neck. His spine. His knee.
Now Reyy had had just enough. His next move was a full proof prediction as he torched up his hands, throwing two fireballs at a 90 degree perpendicular angle, where the breeze had majorly headed from.
Ren slid to his grow, his burnt shirt leaving a brisk light of ashes dancing on the air. His shoulder bled, evident to almost everyone as he stood back up determinedly, anger swelling like a rampaging beast in his eyes.
"Well played." He growled before ripping his shirt off his body, showing the large bruise that not only bled, but also burned deeply inside him.
Ren’s hands spread out firmly into the air, and lightning surged through his arm, sparking and running wildly like his veins ran through his arm. For some reason, the logical thought of "don’t fight fire with fire„ ran into his mind, but he was already too angry to approach this fight with strategies.
Ren shot a wave of lightning the very moment the King threw a fireball. The two clashed into each other, causing an impact of light and heat that could have scorched up a spectator who was standing too close.
The impact also caused a minor earthquake, making the whole arena rumble, threatening to fall apart as it wasn’t strong enough to contain the power of the strongest in Wisteria High.
But neither Reyy nor Ren had been considering the odds, the sudden rush of power had only brought them excitement, and it made them slowly run berserk as a few thunderous impact kept following, each trying to end themselves for real.
Ren leaped up in the air, diligently setting aim at his side as a dart of lightning left his index finger. It was quicker than the speed of a bullet after it had been shot, but it wasn’t that quick enough for Reyy’s eyes.
The King parried it away with a large ball of fire, knowing how dangerous even a simple line of lightning could be. It made him reminiscent of the first and last time Ren tried to take over his authority as the king.

It was meant to be a night of celebration, as the graduated seniors were finally leaving, the Hierachy among them passing on their position to the next class.
Reyy had only been pronounced as the new King of Wisteria when Ren stormed in, he was sixteen and yet a vagabond.
With the help of his cohorts, they trashed the entire hall, destroying the supposed "SENIOR STUDENTS GRADUATION". The whole purpose was supposed to serve as a distraction while Ren took over Reyy’s kingship while he was caught off guard.
Ren’s lightning had boomerang multiple times at him, and because he wasn’t sure how to predict those attacks, he always got hit. But Reyy’s determination still surfaced over his weakness, he knew he couldn’t let himself be dethroned only after he had just worked his whole life for that position.
He took up himself, upholding his stamina against Ren’s lightning. As far as he knew it, Ren was a thief who was trying to take over what he hadn’t worked for, and Reyy wasn’t going to let that happen.
Infact, when this was over, he had vowed within himself to make him feel the full extent of social oppression.
However, that vow was forgotten. Somehow, even after all the havoc he had caused and the rules he had broken, the former Ace of Wisteria still found him impressive and passed on his title to him.

A tragedy— on Reyy’s part. Somehow, even until now, Ren was still found worthy of his titlteship. Years had passed by and many students had formed many coup Academias, but the Ace still remained invincible. Undefeated.
His major curiousity was to see whether Michael would be able to defeat him, that’s why he had kept quiet and done nothing about Elvis’s defeat, the same reason he had interfered when Ace was about to scorch Micheal to death.
After all, if they were going to fight, they both had to have an attacking advantage. A fair fight.
"Alright that’s enough tag!" Ren threw himself towards the king, his hand brought up as they surged with stronger strands of lightning. But his anger had overwhelmed him just enough that he didn’t see Reyy flexing his leg, crashing a straight, clean kick into his side.
Ren tumbled to the ground again, this time rolling off like a bread roll around a burrito. He had been dismantled, his movements slowed as he even struggled to rise back up.
"Accept defeat." Reyy advised as he moved towards him, a fireball floating over his right hand. "And apologize for questioning my authority."
And like something intense sparked in Ren’s head, he found sudden strength to rise back up, wiping blood off his nose and lips.
His hands clenched, and lightning crackled as he was sorrounded wildly by his ability. His eyes not only glowed fiercely, from them also, lightning purged out, and for a moment he seemed like a god.
A godly appearance.
Probably, it was his final attempt for an attack, but he couldn’t make it however. Something sliced through him, a bare hand coming out of his guts from the other end. His eyes widened, his blood sprayed in the air as he was suddenly stabbed.
It wasn’t Reyy. Infact, the king also was surprised as he had never seen brutality to this extent.
Reyy looked closely at the figure standing behind Ren, it was someone so unidentified that he seemed too familiar.
A guy wearing a cap and a face mask.
