The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth -
Chapter 66: Heed me!
Chapter 66: Heed me!
Shadowwind’s expression turned to that of annoyance. "You’ll meet him soon enough."
Vacuse smiled, and there was a hint of madness in his eyes. "Shadowwind, do you know the history of that red that’s above in the sky?"
Shadowwind didn’t look up, but he’d seen it earlier when he was fighting. "No. What is it?"
Vacuse spread his hands. "Long ago, in the West and even in the Empire, anywhere people saw the red eyes, they came to know it as a symbol of war and bloodshed.
"The Dragon isn’t always only the symbol of the Vorrakyn. We are red. The red of blood. The red of anger. Before the pathways, before the first stone of the Empire, there has always been the red.
"The red of the Vorrakyn. The red of war."
"What are you talking about?" Shadowwind’s voice was tight.
Vacuse raised his hand toward where the palace and the hall were supposed to be. He spread his red all around him.
This time, Shadowwind looked up, and he gasped at what he saw. He wasn’t the only one. Harkon sucked in a sharp breath.
The whole sky of the castle was now red.
Red substance rose in different locations around the Dragon palace. It bloated out the sky and the moon and cast everything in a shade of red.
"What is this?" Shadowwind asked with curiosity and anxiousness.
"What is it? What is it, Harkon?"
Harkon shuddered, and his eyes lit up, his red eyes gleaming. "It’s calling my name. I... want to fight."
Vacuse laughed. And laughed. It was madness and joy, and he laughed. The night was getting charged by an energy that only the Vorrakyn could feel.
It was something that hadn’t been felt in years.
"This is the blood fog of the Vorrakyn. It’s a signal to war for all Vorrakyn. It’s something only the Vorrakyn can deploy. It’s something that calls all the red eyes, weak or strong, to look up and pick up their swords!"
Shadowwind’s eyes widened. He’d heard about how insane the Vorrakyn were, but he never thought he would be witnessing it with his own eyes.
"But all the important and powerful Vorrakyn in the family are already being taken care of or will be taken care of!"
Vacuse laughed again. "Days ago, I remembered the promise of a certain commander of the outpost that I trained at. He asked me to turn to him when I need help.
"I summoned him and almost all the commanders in the wilderness. I called them to Kragthar in secret to see them after my dinner party."
Shadowwind took a step back. He shook his head. "No. You won’t leave the outposts without its commanders. You won’t!"
Vacuse frowned. "The orcs have their heir here. They won’t spring any attacks. So, I can indeed call them here. Even Drenvar did not know of this."
Shadowwind stiffened. "Fuck!"
He shot forward, accompanied by a blast of wind, but he never got close to Vacuse. free.webn\ove(l)(.)c(o)m
He tried to twist out of the way, but he was wounded and had lost a lot of his energy already.
A wooden spear hit him from the back and slammed him into the ground, pinning him hard to the ground.
The first of the commanders to appear was a lanky man that wore wooden armor. Vacuse didn’t recognize him, but the man saw the ring in Vacuse’s hand and bowed low. "We hear. We answer."
Vacuse smiled. "Then, you’ll have a night that’s worthy of the name of Vorrakyn.
"Heed me!"
Vacuse raised his hands. The ring he wore flashed, and the fog above boiled as it amplified his voice where the fog covered. "This is Vacuse Vorrakyn! This is the Dragon heir!"
Throughout the Dragon castle where fighting was taking place, there was a pause as his voice shook and echoed. Enemies and friends alike all looked up at the fog.
Those with the red eyes couldn’t help the shiver and the gleaming in their eyes.
"As in the old, and so it is in the new!
"In my father’s name! In the name of the Dragon and the Dragons! I call on those without the red eyes to immediately put down their weapons and surrender!
"In my father’s name! In the name of the Dragon and the Dragons! I call on those without the red eyes to immediately put down their weapons and surrender!
"In my father’s name! In the name of the Dragon and the Dragons! I call on those without the red eyes to immediately put down their weapons and surrender!"
Vacuse paused, and the castle seemed to hold its breath.
"I charge you all, Vorrakyn! I charge you, protect the Dragon! All those without the red eyes but with weapons are declared enemies of the Dragon!
"Heed me! I will take the blame for you. Heed me! Destroy your enemies! In my name! In my father’s name! In the name of the Dragon and Dragons!"
The blood fog trembled and shuddered just as he finished, and then... it fell.
The blood fog fell into the castle and swallowed everything with a muffled roar.
Those without the red eyes of the Vorrakyn would not be able to see well, and those with the red eyes would see as if it was day. What’s worse, those without the Vorrakyn eyes wouldn’t be able to feel their surroundings, while those with them would feel even better.
They would sense their enemies with more clarity and would feel other Vorrakyn nearby and call them to them.
Vacuse turned to Harkon. "How do you like my act just now? Do you think I was able to rouse their fighting spirit? You see, it doesn’t matter now. All the Vorrakyn will have to fight the enemies. Those who do contrary would be easily noticed and then killed.
"Tonight, the traitors that carry the red eyes will fight for me."
Harkon had his swords ready.
One in each hand.
His eyes gleamed. "My Lord, let’s get out of here. I can sense some enemies nearby. Let’s go hunt."
Vacuse laughed. "Right. Let’s go hunt!"
