Chapter 1623: 1623 Half-Cliff Clouds and Fog
He didn’t know which way to go.
Qingyue observed the surroundings briefly and started walking forward on her own.
Hiss hiss...
Hiss hiss hiss...
Not far ahead, the trees and the ground were full of winding poisonous snakes, some entangled together, snake devouring snake, others hanging on the trees and spitting out their tongues.
Fu Chou noticed some movement on the ground, and when he looked down, a snake had somehow coiled around his calf.
He drew his long sword, about to slash the snakehead off when Su Qingyue stopped him, "Don’t kill it."
"Why?" He was puzzled.
"I applied snake repellent powder on both of us. But there are too many snakes here, and all of them are fed with strong poison. My powder has little effect on them." Su Qingyue frowned, "If these snakes see blood, they’ll agitate the entire group, causing more trouble. Just catch it and throw it away."
"Understood." Fu Chou bent down, pinched the snake at its jugulur, forcefully pried it off his calf, and flung it away.
As soon as he threw one off, another snake fell from the tree and coiled tightly around his neck.
The snakehead opened wide and aimed to bite his neck. He quickly grabbed the snake’s neck and squeezed hard, snapping its neck. The pressure around his neck loosened.
Su Qingyue ignored Fu Chou, tapped her toes, and leaped into the air, landing on a tree. The tree was almost entirely covered with snakes, but she didn’t stop. With another tap of her toes, she leaped to another tree before the snakes could reach her, using Qinggong to pass through the Ten Thousand Snake Area.
Fu Chou hurriedly used Qinggong to follow his master’s steps.
He wondered if his master had chosen the wrong path; otherwise, why was it so dangerous?
The two of them walked in what seemed to be an endless deep forest.
Fu Chou noticed that every tree looked almost identical, "Master, it seems like there’s a confusing array in this grove. We keep walking, but we’re in the same place."
"It is indeed a confusing array." Su Qingyue’s lips curved slightly, "A mere confusing array can’t trap me. We’re already on our way out."
Fu Chou completely trusted his master after hearing this. Having followed her for so long, there seemed to be nothing she couldn’t handle.
Shortly, the two arrived at a steep mountain.
Seeing the mountain meant they had exited the grove.
Though there seemed to be no path, they climbed the mountain using tree bark or weeds for leverage with Qinggong. The higher they went, the steeper the mountain became, and near the top, it was almost vertical.
They stood on the thick trunk of a tree growing horizontally at mid-hillside, looking at the boundless deep forest below.
Looking up, the mountain top was at least fifty meters higher.
Fu Chou panted, frowning, "We can’t reach the mountain top."
"Then go back." Su Qingyue said, leveraging the horizontal trees on the cliff, channeling Zhenqi to leap several meters high. She stepped where she could, and when there was no foothold, she threw the white silk in her hand upwards, channeling Zhenqi to wrap it around a cliff vine for support. She channeled more Zhenqi and finally flew up to the cliff top.
She spun gracefully, landing on the empty land at the cliff top.
The cliff top had smooth stone walls, a few trees, and patches of weeds.
Looking in all directions, there was a vast valley surrounded by undulating mountain ranges, with no view of the bottom because the mid-cliff was shrouded in mist.
Fu Chou also found his way to the cliff top and looked down. He saw a bottomless dead valley road with only a white fog, clearly indicating no signs of life, "Master, below is a dead cliff, and there’s no way forward."
