Chapter 51: Chapter 51

TESSA POV

No one found me hiding behind that dumpster for the rest of the afternoon which I was grateful for. But then it started getting dark. I noticed that the shops started closing around town. It truely was a small town. Nothing stayed open after dark and the streets were deserted.

I came out from my hiding place looking around to see if I could see any sign of anyone coming to help me. But there was nothing. Until I heard someone walk into the street behind me clicking her tongue.

I turned around slowly and Katherine was standing in the middle of the street.

"What are you going to do now? There aren’t any humans to witness any vampire or werewolf activities. So, I can do whatever I want here and there’s nothing anyone can do about it." She smirks. And I suddenly throw my hand up and hit her with a bolt of electricity that sent her flying 20 feet backwards on the road and she landed on her back.

"Wanna bet bitch." I say.

"Right. So you’re gonna do it the hard way." She says standing up.

"Well, I sure as hell wasn’t going to go back willingly." I say. She was then surrounded by vampires and Rogues and one lonely witch standing off to the side. I glared at the witch and she was looking at me rather nervously.

I focused in on the witch for a minute there before I started smiling at her.

"You know exactly what I am capable of, don’t you?" I asked.

"I heard what you did in New Orleans." She stuttered out.

" Wow. You’re not looking so tough now that I’m not shackled to a fucking bed." I say.

"Stop talking and get her." Katherine screamed. And the vampires and Rogues started charging towards me and I put up a shield to protect myself and then turned that shield into a bubble that they were trapped in. Katherine looked at the witch and she was still standing there hesitantly.

"She’s not going to attack me Katherine. She knows better than that. She knows that she doesn’t stand a fucking chance against me." I say.

"Josiah promised me that we would have a special baby. And that was you. You were going to give us that. But instead you took him from me. But I am still going to have that baby." She demanded.

"Like hell you’re getting your hands on my baby." I demanded back.

Katherine then charged at me again but I held my hand out and she was stopped in her tracks when she was held up by an invisible force around the throat. I lifted her higher and stopped her from coming any closer. But I saw the witch do something out the corner of my eye and suddenly the vampires and Rogues were released from that bubble.

I dropped Katherine and prepared to protect myself against them when suddenly there was another loud roar that shook the ground and the vampires and Rogues were all tackled by a group of at least 30 monstrous werewolves from the left andf were bowled over like bowling pins.

I recognised the one in front. My large beautiful saviour Tyler. I managed to back up against the wall of a shop and I slid to the ground taking a deep breathe. That fight alone took everything out of me. All the energy I had. I couldn’t even stand up straight.

The snarls and growls coming from my warriors were music to my ears. And so were the screams and pained noises coming from the other side.

Suddenly I felt hands on my shoulder and I opened my eyes to see Sawyer kneeling down beside me. He was checking me over to make sure that I was alright.

"I can’t believe that you actually did it." He says surprised.

"I never lie." I muttered out.

I looked over at the fight and I saw Tyler face to face with Katherine. She was trying to escape his attack, but he pounced in front of her every move. And then he was joined by Cade and Carter. They surrounded her and she tried to leap over Tyler when he jumped off the ground and grabbed her leg in his mouth and ripped her back to the ground.

Tyler went to stand over Katherine when that witch blasted him withe a bolt of elecriticity and threw him up against a shop 10 feet away from where he was.

"No." I say trying to get up.

"Tessa. You can’t get up. You’re too weak." Sawyer tried to reason with me. But I didn’t care. I needed to protect Tyler. That witch wasn’t attacking me, but she was attacking the people I loved.

I got to my feet on my own and I started running, dodging the vampires and wolves fighting each other until I reached the witch and tackled her to the ground. I punched her in the face once and she raised her hand and threw me off her and I fell to my back.

I managed to get to my feet again and I raised my hand and nothing happened. I concentrated. More than I had in a long time, my nose started bleeding and I finally conjured up the fireball in my hand.

The witch looked at me with wide eyes and tried to run away from me. But I threw it at her and it engulfed her in a huge fire and she started screaming as she burnt to death before finally dropping to the ground and not moving any more.

I then looked around and there was so much destruction. Katherine’s army was small but they were strong. Even the Rogues were stronger than we gave them credit for. I saw that Katherine was on top of Tyler’s wolf and she couldn’t shake him.

I used every last ounce of energy that I had left and I knelt to the ground and threw my hand into the earth causing a mini earthquake that affected everyone in the area. The fighting stopped and they saw me and what I had done. And that was all that Tyler needed. Katherine slid off his back and Tyler grabbed her from behind and was able to get his jaw around her neck.

She screamed in absolute agony when he tightened his grip and ripped her head from her body and threw it away from her body.

Sawyer came running up to me but my hearing made his voice muffled. I couldn’t understand what he was saying. Dots danced in front of my eyes as I got to my feet but I couldn’t stand still. I was all over the place. I was disoriented and I couldn’t make sense of anything at the moment.

"Tessa. Tessa, look at me." Sawyer yelled in my face. But I couldn’t make sense of it. And then I plunged into the darkness.

TYLER POV

Once Katherine was dead some of her followers tried to make a run for it.

’Don’t let any of them get away. Kill them all.’ I yelled through the mind link and my warriors went running after them.

Parker was in a fight with three Rogues that he was loosing so I ran and tackled one of the Rogues and knocked him tumbling along the ground. Once he regained his composure and got to his feet he charged at me and I charged at him.

We clouded with a loud thud and he clawed at my neck and tried get a good grip when I turned my side to him just moments before he latched onto my neck and I was able to grab his hind leg and tore it clean off in one movement.

I turned to face him head on and he was whimpering. Trying to surrender. But that wasn’t in my vocabulary at the moment. I launched at him and ripped my teeth into his neck and my claws into his chest.

He fell back against the ground and slowly bled to death. And I couldn’t have been more satisfied in that moment.

I then looked around at the rest of the fight when my eyes finally landed on her. She was lying on the ground. Her baby bump showing but some man was cradling her in his arms. A vampire was.

I ran to her without a care about anyone behind me and shifting while running. When I reached them I grabbed the man and pushed him away from her and grabbed her myself. She was bleeding from the nose and the ears.

"I told her to stop. I swear I told her to stop. She wasn’t strong enough. She saw Katherine was about to kill you so she wouldn’t stop." The man says to me.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Sawyer. I was with Katherine’s group but I am not with her. I promise. Katherine has my friends locks in the basement of the mansion. That’s the only reason I was helping her. I was taking care of Tessa while she was in the mansion." Sawyer blurted out so that I wouldn’t kill him.

I didn’t know what to believe right now. I just knew that Tessa was lying in my arms and not looking in very good shape at all. I checked her breathing and her pulse and she was still alive. But just barely. Her pulse was really weak.

I was ripped out of my thoughts by the victorious howls of my warriors once all of the enemies were dead. Except for Sawyer who was right in front of me.

’Carter. Get a car now. We need to get Tessa to the nearest pack doctor. NOW.’ I screamed through the link.

’Parker and Avery. Take this vampire to the mansion and see if there are any humans locked in the basement. If there aren’t then kill him. If there are then let him go.’ I ordered them.

The two warriors walked over in human form and took Sawyer to the house. I told him what was going on. And moments later Cade pulled up in a black SUV.

I lifted Tessa in the backseat and held her while Cade drove. He floored it to the nearest pack from us and all I could do was pray that she was going to be okay.
