Chapter 15: Chapter 15

TYLER POV

As soon as I saw that warrior dead in the dungeons then I knew that I had yet again failed my pack. I had gotten really used to feeling this way. I had been failing a lot lately. I failed Tessa. I trusted Rachel. And people keep getting hurt because of my bad decisions.

Sometimes I really don’t think I was meant to be an Alpha. I don’t know what I’m doing or how to make it better. Tessa is standing behind me saying that she knew there had to be another traitor. She’s a better leader than I have ever been and she’s not even the Luna yet. This pack would be better in her hands. I don’t know why I didn’t mark her when I had the chance. When she was asking. But I know this pack loves her and they will keep her as Luna.

There’s only one thing for me left to do. I need to put an end to this. NOW. I can’t let anyone else die on my watch. I turn from the group and run from the dungeon with such fury and speed that I left them way behind me.

As soon as I reached the top of the stairs I shifted into my wolf, Eli. I smashed through the glass doors and straight out into the woods. I ran past warriors looking at me with confusion and I saw the two dead warriors on the ground. They were young. Just joined the warriors. That fueled my anger even more. My legs pumped harder and faster and I ran through the woods and I left my territory boarders. By then, I knew that I was on my own.

What I was doing was going to get me killed, but not before I killed those bastards responsible for everything that they have done to the people I love. To my family. My pack. They are going to pay. Tessa told me where their tunnel’s were. I knew where the exits to them were. So that was my advantage. I wasn’t going to let them get away. They were never going to get away from me.

If I had to die on this mission then it was going to be on my terms. And I was definitely going to take those pricks down with me.

It wasn’t long before I heard howling behind me. I didn’t stop but I did slow down slightly and Cade’s wolf appeared beside me, running along with me. He looked at me with that knowing look. He wasn’t here to stop me. He was here to help. And I looked to the other side to see Ethan running on the other side. And the hundreds of thudding paws on the ground behind me. They were all coming to help me.

I guess the battle is starting now. We weren’t fully planned for it. But we knew what to do. They were outnumbered with all of us. And with my pack behind me, I had a renewed sense of strength and courage course through my body. And my legs started moving faster to get ahead of everyone.

I was the Alpha. I needed to be in front of them. I was the one that was leading them into battle. I sure as shit wasn’t going to be at the back. I was going to be where I needed to be. At the front leading them.

’It’s not your fault. None of it. Focus on the task at hand and get back home to Tessa. She’s already lost too much. She can’t lose you too.’ Cade’s voice echoed in my head. And Tessa’s piercing blue eyes and gorgeous smile found it’s way to the front of my mind. A smile that I hadn’t seen in so long. I needed to see that smile again.

This was no long a suicide mission. This was war. We were going to win. And we were going to go back to our mates. All of us were.

’I didn’t even say goodbye.’ I realized in the link.

’She told me to tell you that she loves you.’ Cade said. I was speechless for a moment. That was the first time she had said that. She actually loves me. That’s not how I wanted us to say it to each other. But I guess I didn’t give her a choice. ’She needed to say it. To let you know how she felt just in case. But also not to get your dumbass killed. Her words, not mine.’ Cade continued almost like he was reading my mind.

’If anything does happen to me here. Tessa is the Luna. She will still be the Luna.’ I command. I was serious about that. She would be a fantastic Luna. She was so compassionate towards other people.

’They already know that. But we’ll back her up.’ Cade assured me.

I then faced ahead and ran like there was no tomorrow. We didn’t stop until we got to the boarder of the Blood Moon Pack. We didn’t see any patrols but that didn’t mean that they weren’t there.

Ethan, Wyatt and Tobias already knew what they needed to do so there was no point in shifting back. We were sticking to our original plans that we had made.

We gathered ourselves and stalked closer to the boarder and we saw three patrols near the boarder. So three of my warriors jumped them without them even knowing we were there and killed them instantly. There was no time to play with our enemies right now. This was not a show of muscle. This was a show of force. And that we aren’t taking any more shit. I had let too many things slid with these people. But not anymore.

We made it through the woods without any more issues and without seeing any other warriors. Which I thought was rather pathetic. The rest of my pack separated around town and I went deeper into the woods.

I shifted briefly when I came to something that looked like a storm drain. But in fact it was the exit to the tunnel. I covered the exit completely with trigs, branches and anything I could carry and lit them on fire. They weren’t going to run through that. And it wasn’t just at the exit either. I pushed the debris in for about three feet so that it would be impossible for them to get through it and it wouldn’t burn out quickly.

I then shifted back and headed towards the packhouse. I was in the woods and I was communicating with me warriors through the mind link and they were all in position. The whole packhouse was lit up inside and there was loud music going and a lot of people in there. They were celebrating something. And then I saw Rachel come into view through the glass doors. She was the point of celebration and she was laughing and drinking and having a good time. Which only pissed me off even more.

I gave the order and we converged on the packhouse together. But I was the one to jump through yet another lot of glass doors and ruin the celebrations. People screamed and backed away from where I was. I bared my teeth and Rachel was hiding behind some men that she was expecting to protect her. Typical Rachel. And then the front door was smashed in at the same time as the windows and other doors on the bottom floor of the house.

All of my wolves converged into the ballroom and had them surrounded. They weren’t expecting an attack this soon. That was obvious. At least, that’s what I thought. But, I felt a sting in my side and I turned to look at a tranquilizer dart sticking out of my side.

Rachel came out from behind the men smirking at me but I glared back at her and my wolf let out a chuckle. Like that was going to stop me. I turned around to see the man holding the tranquilizer dart and I pounced on him and sunk my teeth into his neck until I heard it break.

All hell broke loose after that and wolves started shifting in the house and some were escaping outside. And that’s when I saw Matthias and Daniel cowardly let their men fight while they headed for the tunnel. But I knew they would be back. So I helped my men.

I ran for a wolf that was attacking Cade when I was tackled from the side by another wolf and he was actually pretty strong. When I got back to my feet I crouched, snarling at him when I heard Ethan yell.

"Don’t kill him." Ethan screamed at me. He was in human form. That was the only way we could communicate.

I looked at him suspiciously and he tried to get through the battle in the ballroom that was now starting to spill outside onto the fields around the packhouse.

"Don’t kill him just yet. His name is Ben. He’s Tessa’s brother. Ben, that’s Tessa’s mate." Ethan says to both of us. But we both stared at each other for a bit. Not really knowing if we should trust each other or not. But Ben finally backed off and ran out of the packhouse to where the fight was no going on.

That’s when I saw Matthias and Daniel sneak back through the house and make it outside so I run past Ethan and Ben and I go after them.

Ethan shifted back and followed at lightening speed. He split off to one side and I went to the other side. Ethan called Tobias and Wyatt over and they came in from different directions. Completely surrounding Mattias and Daniel.

They then both shifted and they were both big but not quit as big as me. Matthias was a very dark brown wolf and Daniel was a brown and white wolf. They both got into their positions to fight. They weren’t going to go down easily. I knew that.

I then saw Rachel out of the corner of my eye and I nodded to her so Ethan nodded back telling me to go and get her.

I took off running towards Rachel and I jumped over the barbeque area and a stone wall and jumped right in front of her, stopping her in her tracks.

"Tyler, baby. Why are you doing this? You love me, remember. I know that I love you. Despite everything, I still love you." She says batting her eyelashes at me.

’You tried to kill my mate.’ I said coldly.

’It wasn’t me. They made me do it. They threatened to kill me if I didn’t. I promise. That’s why I did it. I didn’t want to hurt Tessa. I love Tessa." She pleaded.

’How dumb do you think I am? Those stupid tricks might have worked on me once. Not anymore.’ I growled as I stalked closer to her and she backed up away from me.

"Please don’t do this?" She begged.

’Too late for redemption. You’re a lost cause. And I hope you end up in hell for what you did.’ I say. But before she could say anything else I lunge at her and knock her on her back and I’m standing over her baring my teeth. She started crying and all I could feel for her was disgust.

I raised my paw and with one quick swipe I slashed her throat open with several deep wounds that killed her almost instantly.

I stood there looking at her dead body briefly before I headed back to the battle and I could see Matthias and Daniel holding their own against Ethan, Wyatt and Tobias. They were in a bit of trouble right now.

I jumped over bodies and other wolves fighting and straight into that fight where I grabbed Matthias by the back of the neck and ripped him away from Ethan, who he was standing over at the time, and I threw him about 10 feet away from us.

Ethan got back up and looked at me and nodded in thanks. And then Daniel rushed me and tackled me to the ground and dug his teeth into my leg. Wyatt and Tobias both pulled him away from me. And even though my leg was hurting like a bitch, I got up. I started approaching him as he was being held back by Tobias and Wyatt, they were both crouched, growling and I was about to go for the kill.

But suddenly something came jumping out of the woods. A magnificently huge pure white wolf with piercing blue eyes that was even bigger than I was that jumped between me and Daniel. The wolf turned to look at me and I looked into those eyes and I just knew. Tessa.
