Lu Jinghan slipped one hand into his pants pocket, while the other discreetly wrapped around Han Xi’s waist. This woman really knows how to avoid the main issue.

He was indeed a former boyfriend from university.

Li Chenghao saw Han Xi nestled in this man’s embrace, and the jealousy in his heart surged like molten lava, but his face betrayed nothing.

Han Xi glanced at Li Chenghao and introduced with a smile, "This is my boyfriend, Lu Jinghan."

The two nodded at each other as a way of greeting.

"Shall we join you for a meal with your senior?" Lu Jinghan was certainly not going to let Han Xi dine alone with her ex-boyfriend.

"But they..." Han Xi looked at the people behind Lu Jinghan, feeling that they were there for a business meeting.

"President Lu, no need to entertain us, accompanying your girlfriend is more important," said one of the men behind him, perceptive enough.

Lu Jinghan nodded slightly with a not-quite-smiling expression, then lowered his gaze to the woman in his arms and said, "Let’s go."

Lu Jinghan held Han Xi as they walked into the restaurant, while Li Chenghao, his eyes darkening, also stepped inside. If he had known Lu Jinghan would be dining here, he wouldn’t have brought Han Xi along.

After they ordered in a private room, Han Xi stepped out to take a call from the hospital.

Li Chenghao looked coolly at the man across from him, his voice deep as he began, "Mr. Lu, I think we should formally introduce ourselves. I was Xiao Xi’s first love; we were together since university."

Lu Jinghan smiled faintly, yet the smile didn’t reach his eyes. "Who you are doesn’t matter at all, what matters is that Xiao Xi is now my woman."

Everyone has a past, but if the ex was so great, where would that leave the current partner?

Li Chenghao’s face darkened at Lu Jinghan’s offhand remarks that effortlessly hit him where it hurt the most.

When Han Xi returned from her call, the waiter had just brought the food, and she sat down next to Lu Jinghan, sensing the atmosphere was slightly off.

As Lu Jinghan helped Han Xi with some food, he asked, "Can you sleep at home tonight?"

Han Xi immediately blushed, wishing she could disappear; how could this man make such remarks irrespective of the situation?

Li Chenghao’s left hand clenched into a fist on his lap, his profile tense.

"Hmm? How long is Chu Ci going to keep you away from me?" Lu Jinghan’s eyes, dark as a bottomless pit, looked at Han Xi with indulgence, his smile enticing.

Under the table, Han Xi pinched Lu Jinghan’s hand hard as a warning, only to have him hold it back.

Lu Jinghan signaled with his eyes for her to speak.

Han Xi had no choice but to blush and whisper, "I can go home today."

That certain someone finally nodded in satisfaction.

Li Chenghao watched these two behaving intimately in front of him; although he wasn’t happy, he managed to suppress his emotions.

"Xiao Xi, would you spend some time visiting Auntie’s grave with me?" Li Chenghao was referring to Han Xi’s mother.

Han Xi hesitated for a few seconds but still nodded her agreement. After all, her mother used to like Li Chenghao, and even though they had broken up, they were still considered friends.

After dinner, Li Chenghao drove back while Lu Jinghan took Han Xi back to the hospital.

On the way, Lu Jinghan held the steering wheel with one hand, while his other hand was tightly intertwined with Han Xi’s.

"Jing Han, actually Li Chenghao... was my former boyfriend."
