Chapter 143: Chapter 143: He wouldn’t even help with the simplest task.

Lu Jinghan hadn’t had the chance to speak when Li Manman on the other end of the phone started shooting off like a machine gun.

Yesterday at the bar, Lu Jinghan and Han Xi had noticed Li Manman’s little tricks, but they didn’t expect her pursuit of a man to be so...direct.

Lu Jinghan lowered his voice and said, "Don’t you think calling this early in the morning is a bit intrusive?"

Hearing Lu Jinghan’s voice, Li Manman gulped in surprise, then wickedly curled her lips, "Did I interrupt something special between you two?"

Lu Jinghan pressed his temples with his fingers holding the phone; this Li Manman really had guts to ask. He glanced at the woman in his arms, his thin lips moving, "You are seriously affecting us."

Li Manman wanted to say something more, but all she heard from the receiver was a mechanical busy tone.

How is it early now? It’s obviously already six o’clock.

She hadn’t been able to sleep since three in the morning and had endured until now, planning to call Han Xi to ask for Feng Yi’s phone number or something, but now Lu Jinghan hung up on her.

Li Manman flipped on the bed like a pancake, and since she couldn’t sleep, she got up, walked to the wardrobe, and started rummaging. Feng Yi said he didn’t like her style, so she decided to change it.

Li Manman ransacked her closet and found a set of clothes that looked quite ladylike, which Han Xi had left here before. Anyway, their figures were about the same, so it should fit her well.

After choosing her clothes, Li Manman went to the bathroom to freshen up. Once done, she sat at the dressing table and put on light makeup, choosing a paler lipstick, her long hair slightly curled at the ends was tied up high.

Li Manman looked at herself in the mirror, wearing a long white dress over the knees, paired with a denim jacket and white sneakers, looking almost like the girl-next-door.

Li Manman glanced at the watch on her wrist; it was already past seven. If she drove to Han Xi’s house now, they should be up by then.

Li Manman was always a whirlwind; thinking this, her body followed suit. She grabbed the keys on the table and went out.

Lu Jinghan and Han Xi had just come downstairs when they heard the doorbell. Sister Zhang was busy in the kitchen and didn’t hear it. Han Xi glanced at Lu Jinghan, "I’ll get the door."

Lu Jinghan nodded, released Han Xi’s hand, and stood at the stairs looking towards the doorway.

Han Xi walked to the foyer, reached out to open the door, and was astonished to see Li Manman, wide-eyed, "Manman, why are you dressed like this?"

Li Manman had anticipated Han Xi’s expression, so she wasn’t surprised at all. While changing shoes, she said leisurely, "Where’s your Lu Jinghan? I have business with him."

"If it’s about asking about Feng Yi, I think you should forget it," Lu Jinghan said as he walked over with one hand in his pocket.

Li Manman lifted her head, looking pitifully at Han Xi, her eyes a little bloodshot, "Xiao Xi, this concerns my lifelong happiness. Does your husband act like this? He wouldn’t even lift a finger to help, just letting me run around like a headless chicken. I’m your best friend. By logic, your friends are his friends too. How can he not help?"

Han Xi smiled wryly and pressed her lips together, "You probably haven’t had breakfast yet. Come in and let’s talk."
