Chapter 137: Chapter 137: You don’t think she’ll do something to you too, do you?

The woman’s sixth sense told Han Siyu that Li Chenghao wasn’t really in pain from his wound; he just wanted to see Han Xi. However, afraid that she might be wrong, she could only suppress her discontent and call Han Xi over.

Upon hearing that Li Chenghao’s wound ached, Han Xi was somewhat worried: "Sis, I’ll go over with you to see him."

The two of them walked toward the ward together, followed involuntarily by Li Manman. How could a perfectly fine Li Chenghao have gotten injured?

Li Chenghao lay quietly on the hospital bed, turning his head to look at the sky outside, which was growing dark. Hearing footsteps, he turned his head, and the moment he saw Han Xi, his previously dull eyes lit up with a smile: "Xiao Xi, you’re here."

Han Xi nodded and walked over to the bedside: "My sister said your wound was hurting?"

"It was very painful just now, but it feels much better now."

Han Xi hadn’t come over all day, and Li Chenghao had missed her a bit, which led him to come up with this clumsy excuse.

"Let me take a look at it for you."

Han Xi leaned over and lifted the blanket and shirt off Li Chenghao, gently removing the bandage from his wound with her fingertips. After carefully checking and confirming there were no signs of infection, she took the medicine box to apply fresh medication.

Under the light, Han Xi’s movements were deft as she treated his wound. A few strands of hair fell across the contour of her face, prompting her to inadvertently tuck them behind her ear, her dense eyelashes casting a shadow on her fair skin.

Li Chenghao’s gaze stayed fixed on Han Xi, deeply passionate as if wanting to engrave her into his bones and blood.

Li Manman accidentally turned around, just in time to see Han Siyu’s sinister, malevolent look, a chill running up her spine.

"I’ve helped you clean the wound again. If it still hurts, make sure to tell me immediately." Han Xi busily instructed while tucking the blanket around Li Chenghao.

Li Chenghao noticed Han Xi’s fatigued expression and furrowed his brow slightly: "Xiao Xi, your complexion doesn’t look good, are you feeling unwell?"

Facing Li Chenghao’s concern, Han Xi was visibly uneasy, worried that Han Siyu might misunderstand, managing only a distant reply: "I’m fine. You rest now, I’ll be heading off."

Outside the ward, Li Manman grabbed Han Xi’s arm and asked, "How on earth did Li Chenghao get such a serious injury?"

Li Manman had just seen the wound—a long scar that hadn’t completely healed, with traces of stitches still visible.

Han Xi’s expression was somewhat grave: "The wound...was inflicted by my sister."

Li Manman quickly envisioned some bloody scenes and gasped: "Did your sister stab Li Chenghao because of unrequited love?"

"...That might be the case."

In fact, Han Xi’s own suspicions aligned with Li Manman’s, which was why she had never asked Han Siyu why she had hurt Li Chenghao so badly.

Li Manman anxiously clutched Han Xi, her dark eyes filled with the terror of a startled animal: "Xiao Xi, just now your sister looked at you in a terrifying way. You don’t think she might harm you too, do you?"

Han Xi felt Li Manman was being overly paranoid and reassured her with a faint smile: "No way, she’s my biological sister, there’s no way she’d point a knife at me."

Li Manman didn’t share this view, recalling Han Siyu’s hellish gaze, her heart pounding with fear: "You’d better be cautious. If she truly considered you her sister, she wouldn’t have done what she did four years ago."
