Chapter 169: She Finally Made Up Her Mind

’Why did he suddenly have to moan like that?’ Elys asked herself.

The young queen was expertly hiding her emotions, letting only a slight blush on her cheeks as the evidence to the wild sensations that Aleksander’s bite sent to her whole body.

But then again, hasn’t she decided yet whether she wanted to make Aleksander fall head over heels in love with her?

She had pondered over it moments ago, but now that she gave more time to think about it, she realized she had not really made her decision yet.

’What do you really want, Elys? Do you want to take the risk of involving feelings here?’ she asked herself. ’Are you sure that this intoxicating bite wouldn’t become addictive once you let yourself be fully consumed by it?’

Letting Aleksander think she wanted him would mean she also had to act like it. That would entail her doing what a person in love was supposed to be to convince him.

Her powers wouldn’t be enough to entice the vampire.

A man is a man nonetheless the species he was classified as.

Human, werewolf, fae, witch, wizard, demon, angel, dragon, vampire... there was not a single thing that these kinds of beings had in common aside from the fact that both had male and female in their species.

And they all have the same urges no matter the difference in their physiology.

Was Elys truly open to the idea of letting herself become vulnerable for a short time so she could control Aleksander in the long run?

What was she willing to put at stake here?

Aleksander then groaned in satisfaction the second time around.

It was the sound Elys always heard from him when he drank her blood. He would always make the same moans of pleasure, at times rising in volume if considering how hungry he was before the feed.

His fangs dug deeper, and Elys’ breath hitched with the sensation. More blood flowed into the vampire king’s mouth, and he drank until he felt himself becoming full.

Elys was at the prime of her health now compared to when she first came to him as an arranged bride. Straight from the enslavement camps, she had been a lot skinnier compared to her physique she was now.

He knew she was capable of losing more blood than she used to, and Aleksander took advantage of it as much as he could, without making her dizzy the moment he was done.

Just enough to satiate his hunger but still getting the most of it.

"Haaa..." Aleksander huffed as his lips parted slightly from Elys’ wrist, saliva stretching and making him somehow look erotic.

He was as much flushed as she was. Elys quickly covered half of her face with her free hand. She was quite embarrassed despite Aleksander knowing how she was reacting to his bite.

Elysianne’s heart began to beat faster. Aleksander’s effect on her was slowly getting out of hand. She knew he could tell by listening closely, and even if she put on a stoic face, her heart wasn’t cooperating as it should.

She willed herself to calm down. Breathing in and out slowly, Elys cleared her mind of the thoughts that were running a hundred miles per hour in her head.

Aleksander smirked, and then ended his feeding as he kissed the wound where his fangs had punctured. He quickly gave it a lick, and the wound immediately healed up, the puncture closing the small gap as if it had not been even there before.

"Wife, you look so beautiful when you blush like that," Aleksander commented as he licked his lips off a smear of Elys’ blood.

Elys rubbed her forearm and then pulled her sleeve downwards. She gave him a look and then smiled as well, "I am always beautiful no matter if I blush or not, Aleksander. Don’t be a fool."

He laughed at her remarks and then turned to the man they were supposed to take away.

"Where should we hide him?" Elys asked.

"The palace isn’t safe, that is for sure," her husband replied. "The manor should be good enough, don’t you think?"

Elys raised a brow at him and asked, "That rundown manor we left at the capital borders?"

Aleksander nodded and said, "It may be rundown, Elys, but it has a cell below in which we could lock him up. No one comes by the manor when I lived there, so much more now that it is abandoned."

His wife regarded Aleksander’s point and replied, "Alright. Now how are we supposed to get him out of here without being noticed? All of your people will know us the moment they see us with this man on either of our horses while we ride to your manor."

Aleksander flashed Elys a smile and said, "We won’t have much of a problem, Elys. The majority of people living here on out where we are, are those that belong to the middle class. They don’t stand a chance against me."

"Quite cheeky I say," Elys remarked. "Well, go on then."

She waved for him to do what he suggested and Aleksander easily lifted the drooling man with just one hand. They walked back their horses and tossed the man on Aleksander’s horse. The sun was already high up this time now, and Aleksander winced slightly.

Elys noted his reaction, and said, "Let us get this man over to your manor as quickly as possible."

The ride back to the manor was done in haste. The sun was already blazing despite it still being early, and Aleksander was noticeably getting crankier by the minute he was under the heat of the sun.

"Maybe you could just get under a shady building and I ride alone back to the manor," Elys suggested.

She had thought her husband would have accepted her idea, but Aleksander merely grunted in disapproval.

"You aren’t going alone," Aleksander firmly said.

Elys raised a brow at him and stifled a laugh. She finally made up her mind – she will make the vampire fall in love with her.
