The Royal Revenge
Chapter 110: Ascension

Chapter 110: Ascension

The prince’s joy was overwhelming. He couldn’t believe that one display of the princess’ powers was enough for the nobilities and clergy to fear them. Aleksander definitely hit the jackpot with Elys by his side.

He turned to Elys, "Wife, everything is within reach for us now!"

The prince let out an evil laugh, and his wife gloated at the bewildered look on every vampire’s face in their midst. Even the vampire clergy seemingly were astonished by the destruction her magic brought to the knights that were about to attack them.

Aleksander walked to the front, his maniacal laugh reverberating around the palace walls.

The crown that had been precariously thrown by the presider after Aleksander’s arrival lain on the ground. He raised his eyes towards the man shivering behind a pillar, and then flicked a finger towards the crown.

"Presider, pick this up," Aleksander demanded, his tone cold and authoritative.

Elys couldn’t help but recall the first few days she had been with the prince. After their wedding, Aleksander had been so hostile towards her, and his tyrannic tendencies oozed every time his mouth opened.

Not to mention Aleksander had been so pitiless to the tailor he had threatened to fashion their customized ball costumes.

"Presider, I do not have any virtues whatsoever, and by delaying your decision to do what I ask of you, you are taking one step further to your doom," the bastard prince said as he tapped an irritable finger on his crossed arms.

There was not a hint of joke in his voice, a merciless and evil look painted all over his face. His golden eyes were visibly terrifying.

’His true colors show,’ Elys thought to herself, ’he is a ruthless vampire through and through.’

The princess glanced at the nobles that survived her attack. She identified several of them were notable vampires with powerful abilities, but somehow, they just stood to the side.

The princess found it confusing. She had thought they would retaliate the moment she and Aleksander decided to show themselves and claim the throne.

Suddenly, Elysianne recalled one of the times Henry had a slip of the tongue with her.

’Ah, they are afraid of the late queen’s prophecy concerning Aleksander’s presence in the palace,’ Elys concluded.

Her eyes fell back towards the prince and the presider. The man obviously looked like he was about to piss himself.

Afraid of the rumors surrounding the bastard prince, the presider hesitated to take a step forward. He remained behind the pillar far too long, and this did not sit well with the prince.

"You are cursed!" the presider screamed, "You will never be fit for the crown, Prince Aleksander. The kingdom will fall to its doom if you -"

He wasn’t even able to finish his sentence.

Elys watched as her husband snapped his fingers, and in mere seconds, the presider writhed and wailed like a witch being burned to the stake.

Aleksander marched towards the poor vampire. He unsheathed his sword from its scabbard, and with a swift flick of his weapon that only the fastest eyes could catch, the presider’s head separated from his neck.

The prince’s attack had been at lightning speed that his blade wasn’t even tainted by his victim’s blood. The presider’s body stopped writhing, his decapitated head bouncing eerily before his body even hit the ground.

The princess kept a blank face as the presider’s head rolled towards her feet, blood trailing from where his body was. His eyes were bloodshot, and the fear that Aleksander’s magic put him in was clearly painted in his agonized face.

"Hear, hear, all of you," the prince spoke with a thunderous voice, "I, Aleksander Reagan Hazreel Ardorlean, proclaim myself King of the Western Kingdom of Vampires. All of you shall bow before me. Whoever dares to defy me, shall meet death in the most painful way possible."

The vampires growled in apprehension.

Prince Aleksander’s startling display of ruthless prowess had taken them by surprise.

"You saw me as useless when I remained quiet all this time," Aleksander spat in their faces, "You cast dirty glances every time I walked by, speak ill of me when I have done nothing but to exist in silence."

The prince flicked his sword towards the vampire clergy, "You who deem yourself holier than the damned souls you probably don’t even have, didn’t even contest the obvious lies the late queen spread about me. You are no better than the rotten nobilities inside this room."

Aleksander had too much hatred and pain in his words that Elys swore a portion of her heart pitied him. The whole vampire kingdom truly did him wrong, and his father and his queen were at its center.

Too bad they died too soon. The prince would have delighted to kill them himself like his original plan had been.

But then again, it didn’t matter anymore. Now that the principal pieces in his dangerous game were gone, the prince will now have to shift his focus to the tiny pawns.

It should be far easier for him now compared to when King, Queen, and the Crown Prince were still alive.

’Their deaths have brought the shaky balance in this society crumbling like a broken tower,’ Elys thought to herself.

Out of the corner of Elys’ eyes, the Farvar son walked slowly towards Aleksander. The prince noticed Wiriam, and his eyes followed him with suspicion, his fangs bared as he hissed at the noble vampire.

Surprisingly, Wiriam walked past the prince and picked up the crown. It had been unfortunately soaked in the presider’s blood, but the vampire wiped it clean with his sleeves.

Everyone, including Wiriam’s family, stood appalled by his actions. The noble vampire faced the clergy and stared at one person in particular.

"High Priestess Naya, I think it would be fitting for you to crown his majesty already," Wiriam spoke.

The High Priestess swallowed a lump in her throat, and with a heavy heart, took the crown from Wiriam. She was about to crown Aleksander when suddenly, the prince raised his hand and turned to Elys.

"What are you waiting there, wife? As I rise to the throne, so shall you," he said.
