Kang woke up by mid-afternoon. He had never had a good night of sleep like this before. Every day he would be plagued by the fear that one of the heroes might find out about his villain identity. But after being caught by Altren he stopped being anxious.

On that particular day, he felt free.

He felt so... happy.

Smirking, he stretched his back. "let’s get to class. Those little radish heads might miss me,/" humming an unfamiliar tone he jumped into the shower and quickly did a job of cleaning himself up.

He wore his training gear and happily left his room.

On the way, he noticed a few of the heroes grouping together and whispering to themselves. They all kept their tones very hushed and low. He could not care less about the new gossip.

Because today was a happy day.

’lets have this pleasant mood continue forever I’m my life. Hehe. Hey system, are you there? How are you this evening? Are you as happy as I am?’ he smirked widely.

The system just answered him with that familiar white noise again,

’aw come on you must have something to say to me? at least give me my daily task. I’ll do it with vigor,’

The system let out a few beeping sounds and gave out his task.

{’daily task: capture a villain, reward- 5 points,

Target task: share a passionate kiss with your target for ten minutes, reward- 20 points}

’What is this system? I risk my lie to capture a notorious villain and you only give me five points. And for that target task... sigh I don’t even want to talk about how unfair this world is...’ he did not want to lose his happy mood.

He simply brushed it off and strut close to his class. he knocked on the door.

His kind old teacher opened the door with a bright smile. "Someone finally decided to grace this classroom with his presence,"

"yeah... sorry for skipping class. I’ll make sure you I won’t do that again," he smirked and entered the room.

"Kang~~" so many kids rushed to him and jumped onto him. Some even notoriously crawled over his arms and hugged his neck. It was the chubby figure he was so familiar with. "Chu Gan. You’re heavy.. don’t break my arm."

"Huh? You are the one who is heavy uncle Kang. Why can’t you even bear the weight of a small five-year-old?"

"I’m bearing the weight of fifteen of you guys," he said dually.

a little girl in pigtails started to sob loudly.

"Whoa, why are you guys crying? Did something happen? Did I scare you with my ugliness?" he playfully pinched the little girl’s cheeks. "don’t tell me, did I give you guys nightmares."

"Kang.. brother.. thank you.. thank you for saving my life." She cried, hugging his arm.

"Uncle Kang. You were so awesome!" Chu Gan shouted close to his ear.

Kang was almost left deaf. Grimacing he distanced his face from the little kid. "what are you guys talking about, huh?"

"The attack! You were so awesome. Without you we wont even be alive!" Chu Gan wiggled around shaking his whole body.

Zhu Kang steadied himself on the doorway making sure not to drop off the little radish heads. "So? It was long back,"

"it was only a few days back," Chu Gan pouted. "you have gotten stringer. Why didn’t you tell me you were an ability user, huh?"

"well I didn’t know I had an ability too," he gently removed each of the kids separately and lowered them to the ground.

That was when he noticed the old teacher Gretchen looking at him with a small smile.

"Sorry teacher.... I distracted the class. Everyone go back to your seats. You can’t afford to be distracted. One day you all have to grow up and protect this Kang uncle okay?"

"okay~" they all ran back, but they all crowd close to the seat he used to sit in.

"why are you guys sitting down? Teacher is going to punish me if you guys don’t listen," he chided with a small grin.

"it’s okay. They have a surprise for you. Why don’t you kid show it to him," the kind teacher smiled at the kids.

The little radish heads nodded and moved away, exposing a huge adult-size chair.

An actual adult-size chair!!

It looked behemoth in between those small pink and blue children’s chairs....

"I-its mine...."

"yes~ we figured that we have to pay you back for Helping us. We all collected our own pocket money and got this for you," Chu Gan cheekily smirked.

Kang did not know what to say. he was touched. He did not expect the kids to be so thoughtful. His eyes started to blur out slightly. ’no can’t cry now..’ he let out a small chuckle and walked over to it. He sat on it and stood up. the chair did not get stuck to his butt!

"it’s awesome! Thank you all. Thank you so much," he pulled them all into a group hug.

The little kids giggled a d few of them even gave him a small kiss on his cheek shyly.

All his life had been living as a system taking care of hosts and doing tasks. But now in this world, he finally experienced being a human. The trust, the love, the affection that humans had was overwhelming.

The tears he had been holding back rushed back flowing down his cheeks.

Chu Gan stood in front of him, frowning. "Wow uncle Kang you look even more ugly when you cry,"

"Shut it you little radish," he ruffled his hedgehog head and made a mess out of his hair. "I love it.. thank you so much for spending your money."

The class proceeded as usual. And Kang who wanted to be a studious student started to feel drowsy on his comfortable chair. He leaned his head on the hand rest and closed his eyes.

No one woke him up until the class was over.

By the time he was shaken awake, it was already evening.

Chu Gan looked at him his cheeks puffed up. "You are a lazy bum Kang,"

"I’m just sleep-deprived.... I had a busy night yesterday."

He sat down with a curious look. "What did you do?"

"I had fun. You might not believe this but I scolded Aaron yesterday. It was so.. soo exhilarating! I feel so free! And that’s why today I feel so happy. Today is my day," he said, grinning widely.

He had subjectively forgotten that he had broken down and sobbed in front of Aaron and also the fact that he was gay was completely forgotten in his mind.

He happily chatted with the kids. The teacher gave them evening snacks and apple juice. Like the shameless man he was, he happily started to enjoy the kiddy snacks.

The pigtail girl in his class was blushing while looking at her pink phone.

Kang curiously looked her way.

She looked up at him and then shyly glanced down.

"she is shy isn’t she?"

Chu Gan looked at the way he was glancing at. "She is just admiring Altren. Didn’t you know... I thought you both were friends?"

"What? What is it? Did Alta appear on the news again? did he do some heroic acts?" he took a sip of his apple juice.

"he came out,"

Kang spat out the juice, coughing loudly. "he what?! He came out as gay! That.. bas... basket case! I swear he is after my dear brother!!!" he shouted, slamming his empty juice carton on the table.

Chu Gan frowned. "gay? What is gay?"

"Coming out means he is gay,"

"huh?" the little kid had a very confused look on his face and started to eat his small cut-up apples. "I don’t know that exposing your hero ability had another term called gay,"

This time it was Kang’s turn to be confused. "huh? What now?"

"he exposed his real identity to the press. I don’t know why?" he said, shaking his legs. "my mum told me that it’s too risky. Oh and hero Aaron also summoned the world leaders about some petition. Don’t know why.. I guess its something related to our academy,"

That was too much information. Kang could not process it all. "Altren ace out and Aaron.. is in an important meeting.. huh?"

His curiosity got the better. He hurriedly got up and moved closer to little Riya. She looked up at him with a blush.

"mind if I can take a look at your phone... I didn’t bring mine,"

She held it up to him.

A video was playing. Altren was seen talking to the press all dressed in a three-piece suit. He looked priss and proper. he also saw the guy shed a tear and wiped it away with a pitiful smile.

"Because We, the heroes who save your lives... need to be saved too," Altren bowed and walked out of view.

Kang’s mouth was still agape. " What just happened? What just happened now..... what is this petition about.. what did I miss....’
