Chapter 86 - The decision

Chapter 86: Chapter 86 - The decision

At dawn, Altren got a call from his uncle to meet him at his study. His uncle sounded so calm that it scarred the shit out of him. he had taken Kang out of the academy without permission. Even though Kang denied his claims, it was all his fault. If he had not assisted him, Kang would not have been able to leave this place.

Probably his uncle was going to reprimand him.

As he was about to walk out of his room, he froze. he glanced back at his dirty clothes hamper. Hurriedly he took out a black tshirt from there and stuffed it in the back of his pants. "This will work." Humming, he happily left to find his uncle for his punishment.

His uncle’s study was in the second floor of the main building. He even had a private training room attached to it.

Altren snuck his head into his door, glancing around. His uncle was sitting in his study busily looking at something on his computer.

’Here goes nothing,’ he walked in slowly.

Aaron glanced up and frowned. "What is that in your butt?"

"Huh? what?" Altren played innocent. "My butt was always this big, are you jealous?"

"Take that thing out, it’s ridiculous. can’t even take you seriously when your butt is popping out a pregnant lady’s stomach," Aaron grumbled.

pouting Altren removed the shirt and stood there awaydly.

"Uncle... I know I was wrong. I should not have taken him out. I should have listened to you and stayed in. I’m sorry. You can punish me alone. I can take a smacking. Don’t punish him. Kang might seem all macho on the outside but he is very sensitive... his skin bruises so easily. he is pale and weak and......."

"It’s not your fault," Aaron said, sighing. He lowered his head and massaged his brows. "you did a good job, he needed that.."

Altren was stunned and speechless. "Huh? I think I might have ear problems or I’m having auditory hallucinations. I’ll go and check-in with the infirmary,"

"I said you did a good job," he gestured for him to sit opposite him.

Altren confusedly sat down. "Are you really my uncle? Is this new technology? Did anyone swap you?" he rolled his rolling chair closer to him and held his hand.

Aaron dully gazed at him heating up his palm.

"Ow! Oh its you... but uncle I thought you would be upset? You hate breaking rules."

"Things have changed." Aaron seriously looked at him. "What is your opinion of stay here? How did you feel being in here? Trapped? Happy? Sad?"

"Trapped. It didn’t feel good. Thankfully, I had you. It was not that bad. But still it was a stifling feeling.." Altren said frowning. "Why do you ask?"

Aaron did not reply. He glanced at the documents opened up in front of him. "I wish to change."

"Change what?"

"change the academy system."

Altren was skeptical. his uncle has been the very example of a good boy. he would follow the rules religiously. "What changed?"

Aaron let out a painful sigh. "Kang cried."

"What?! You made him cry?! did you smack him?! oh my god! im pissed!!! Uncle how many times do I have to remind you. That kid is very sensitive okay. He is a very emotional person. You must not have hit him. he just wanted to meet his family that’s all. He was not at fault, after all, we just whisked him away to the academy without even letting them say good bye.. its not fair at all."

"I know. That’s why I’m going to change the school system. I don’t want him to feel that lonely or depressed again. I want him to like this place. I want the other supers to also enjoy coming to the academy instead of feeling trapped here. Also, I have been reading the past ten years’ reports. The cases of heroes turning into villains have sky rocketed. It can be because of our rigid systems...."

Altren just gaped. he silently moved closer to him and held his cheeks. He subtly pinched them. "is this a skin suit? Alien? Which world are you from? Where is my uncle?"

Frowning Aaron pushed his hand away. "Quit playing around. Tomorrow, I have summoned an emergency meeting with our world leaders and other academy heads master. We will be formally submitting the petition for the change of our system rules."

"wow..... really wow.... You are doing all this because Kang cried?"

Aaron gave him a pointed look. "Concentrate. I need you to be there with me. after all, you are the true heir of Zain enterprises."

he handed him a file and continued, "If worse comes worse, we might have to expose your hero identity. You are the shining hero of this generation. with your face value and your popularity, we might get the public to our side. At least I hope that is what will happen? What is your opinion on this? We will not go through with this if you do not agree,"

"I have no issues with it," Altren shrugged.

"Think carefully. exposing your identity will put you under a lot of stress. the whole world will have its sights set on you. our enemies will also be watching you trying to kill you. I’ll give you two days to decide by then," Aaron closed up his documents.

"Whoa. I said I agree. Why are you postponing it by a few days? Come on throw the bomb. let the public opinion turn to our side before you actually talk to the world leaders. This way the chances of the petition passing is higher. Plus, the election is just around the corner. no leader would dare to go against my word or... I might simply tweet how unfair the government is to me....," Altren smugly smirked.

Aaron smiled. "You do have a brain cell. Fine, we will go with that. I’ll send out information to every news outlet and every national news channel to publish this." He sighed. "I hope this works,"

"Hmm, I hope so too." Altren sat up looking at his uncle curiously. "I’ve cried to you before that I didn’t like it here, but you didn’t change a thing. Kang sheds two tears and here you are panicking like an ant on a hot plate.... Uncle, oh uncle... you must really like him.."

Aaron simply smiled. "I do."

Altren’s eyes went wide. "r-really? You’re not playing with me? you really like him? like, like a brother like or lover kind of like?" he was much more stroked to hear this. If his uncle and Kang got together then Kang will forever be his friend. It was the best option.

Aaron’s smile slightly dimmed. "I’ll be whatever he will allow me to be. Be it a mentor, a friend or a lover. It’s his choice."

Altren frowned. His uncle had always been very confident and forthcoming but seeing him back up from pursuing Kang was weird. "why don’t you pursue him? don’t know if Kang is gay though.. but I think you are likable. He might fall in love with you. Especially your face."

Aaron simply let out a deep breath. "it’s not that simple."

"if you are still not sure how he feels about you, just take a while. Talk to him, get to know him, you can definitely find out how he feels sooner and later. Then propose. He will accept you as his boyfriend. Then I will go and confess to his brother and we will brother-in-law in a weird way. Hehehehe....." Altren giggled weirdly.

Aaron gave him a disgusted look. "I change my mind. You have lost your single brain cell. Go sleep, I’ll take you along for the meeting tomorrow morning. Dress up in a suit. We need to dress to impress."

"sure~" he giddily walked around. "Oh uncle... don’t give up before you try... you really have a good chance with him. Besides, you are rich, powerful and handsome. What more does a guy need?"

"Get out of here,"

Altren happily walked out thinking about their future.

The next morning Aaron picked up Altren from his room and they soon left for the city. the huge hotel that was under zain corporation was picked as the meeting room.

As they reached the entryway a few thousand reporters’ eagle-liked eyes fixed on them. The flashes of the cameras were blinding.

Aaron simply fiddled with his phone. "Hmm looks like the response is positive. You are well received a few of your college mats are also commenting on how much of a good hero you are,"

Altren peaked at it over his shoulders. "I was just pretending to be good though."

"I know. But they don’t,"

The car moved at a snail’s pace. The photographers refused to move out of the way. And they refused to get out until they reached the entryway.

The car’s windows were tinted, so they were not able to see anything inside.

But from inside Aaron and Altren were looking on at this hub-hub. "Are you ready to be chased down by million girls, stalked by photographers, and harassed by unsolicited photos in your Instagram?"

"Wow, you make it sound creepy. I was ready for this the day I got my license. It’s not a big deal. I don’t have a friend that I’m close to nor a lover. It’s not that going to be dangerous for anyone." He calmly opened the door.

his shiny grey suit shone brightly under the sunlight. his hair was slick back revealing his fair forehead. he simply smiled at them shining his pearl white teeth at them.

The reporters all gawked.

He simply glanced at them with a soft smile. "I’m happy you all were waiting for me. the sun is too hot. Please have something to drink. I’ll arrange for my assistant to bring you all a cooling refreshing lemonade,"

Aaron, who was left out in the cold, smirked. This kid was relay gifted in acting. His cherub-like image was imprinted in the public’s eye, but only he knew how twisted this guy was.

If Altren wanted something he will do anything to get it. he would pretend seamlessly like a pitiful person if he wanted to.

Overall observation, Altren was a scheming fox.
