Back in the police station Eric was stuck in an interrogation room with the cops asking him so many questions. He simply laid his head on the table. On his side ghost boy was looking at him worriedly.

"don’t worry," he mumbled to him.

Ghost boy shook his head. He then glanced at the cop again. They had sent in a kind lady in this time. She looked like she was in her mid-twenties and had that youthful energy about her. A small bright circle of yang energy covered her entire body. ’Interesting, I can see everyone’s yin and yang energy but why don’t I see Haolei’s aura?’

He had been able to see Lai’s energy though but not his brothers it was a mystery to him how this yin and yang thing worked.

"Jung Shi! What happened in that house? How did you kill that old man?"

Eric planned not to hear anything. He kept chatting with the ghost boy when all of a sudden, the system gave out a huge ding. {’your daily task and target tasks have been released. Do you wish to fulfill them?’}

He rolled his eyes. ’it took a while? Why are you suddenly giving me tasks right when I’m about to be sent to jail? target task my ass. If I get caught, they will send me away for at least a year how will I see bai...... Shit...’

The disparity between the target task and the daily task was so jarring. Eric sighed loudly. "Can I get two bowls of noodles?"

"e-excuse me?" the cop glanced at him confusedly.

"I’m so hungry." Now that he was stuck in here at least he could do is complete the daily task.

The cop glanced back at the mirror behind her.

It was obviously a double-sided mirror. Eric did not know who was behind them but it looks like it was a superior who made the decision.

Eric sat up and glanced at the mirror with a pout. "Are you guys going to stave me... I’m so hungry... I want two bowls of noodles please...."

Haolei in the other room clenched his fist he hurriedly ordered two beef bowl noodles in his takeaway app. The store was close by and he was a regular customer. They would bring it in ten minutes or so. ’My brother said he is hungry!! these monsters!! why do they torture him?’

"Oh, these monsters, how can they do this to my dear brother," a small squeaky voice whispered by his ear. "I can literally hear your mind’s voice."

"If you want a black patch on your other eye continue talking," Haolei growled, not bothering to look behind him.

Lai was holding an ice pack to his eyes with a sad pout. "Look if he is not guilty why isn’t he saying anything? He has done something hao. He must have done something."

"Shut up." he hurriedly texted on his phone.

"Are you hiring a lawyer for him.," Lai poked his head from behind.

Right now, Jung Shi was in a bad position. Haolei knew that truth. he knew that the old man was killed by his little brother in self-defense. But they might not believe it because the old man’s body was completely incinerated. This would not be an act of self-defense but rather an act of murder and an act of destroying a corpse.

Jung would likely be charged with at least one year in prison.

He did not want that at any cost.

His phone rang right then.

Hurriedly he picked it up. "Haolei here,"

"Hao, how are you dude? How are your grandma and grandpa? Ah, it’s been a while since I’ve seen them. I relay miss your grandma’s wontons though. I can still taste the in the back of my tongue..."

"Guan, let’s talk about the case." He seriously started to prance.

"Yes, I’ve seen what you have sent. Is it related to the serial murder case you are investigating? Geez this does not look good for the boy. Even if we prove that he is the victim here and take away the manslaughter accusations he will definitely still be charged for destroying his corpse..."

Haolei gritted his teeth. "I know... what can be done? I don’t want him to be sent to prison."

"I’ll see what I can do. Oh, I’m on my way, don’t panic. I can hear you grinding your teeth already. Stay calm. he is a minor and the cops still don’t have enough proof to detain him completely. They will let him go after 24 hours. We’ll have a good chat with him after that."

Haolei sighed. "Because you take up this can see I want you to know this is a very special case. My brother is a very special person he... he is a spiritual person of some kind. If you are that good with dealing with supernatural elements it’s better to tell me right now."

"Supernatural? Like what? Werewolf haha"

"Ghost."

He heard a soft gasp. "h-hao are you intentionally pissing me off. You know I hate jump scares like this."

"No, I’m very serious. You must be okay with ghosts." Haolei switched the system to show the surveillance feed in the interrogation room.

Lai, who was behind him silently gasped out loud. "What the fuck was that?"

In that spot where Jung was sitting, they could see another dark figure crouching down by his feet.

Jung would occasionally look at it and smile.

"Ghost. Guan, are you okay with it or not?"

"Ghosts aren’t real, man. I won’t say no to easy cash." Guan chuckled and cut the call.

Haolei took a good look at the surveillance feed. he had believed Jung Shi when he told him about the ghost, but this was the first time he was able to take a good look at the ghostly behind. Crouched up like that the ghost looked as tall a teenager’s heart.

"no fucking way dude... no fucking way...... this is too crepey... Haolei you go and stand in there. I want to see if that guy has put a ghost on you too."

Haolei threw another fist at his left eye this time.

By the end of it, Lai was left the room with two black marks on his eyes looking like a panda
