At the same time in pearl hospital, the Bai family were all informed that there had been a security risk just a few moments ago. They hurried over to the hospital in fear something had happened to Bai Yuri.

By the time they got there, they saw the scene of the guards stopping Feng Ruelle from entering the ward. The girl looked slightly impatient at their refusal.

"What is going on he? Is she the security risk you guys were talking about?" Bai Kiyuki ran up to the two guards. They both bowed low. "madam just an hour ago we.. we both were tricked. a young boy handed us coffee laces with something. We had to leave the door unguarded for a while. By the moment we came back, we noticed that there was a weird yellow liquid on the ground. We had interrogated everyone. None of the nurses had entered his room,"

Bai Kiyuki’s heart sped up. "Move! How is my son!" she pushed past the two towering guards and into the ward.

Her son was still in that peaceful state. "Did you get the doctor to check on him?"

"yes, we did, madam. They had let us know that everything is stable. Our master is safe, but that slip-up was our mistake. Please accept our apology. We will accept any punishment you give us." The guards both apologetically bowed.

Bai Kiyuki glared at them. "Someone could have hurt my son! Sorry? Is that all you have to say? What could your sorry do for my son when he is hurt?!"

"Honey." Bao Quzhu stepped up and held her trembling shoulders. "Calm down." He gestured for the guards to bring a glass of water.

He hugged his trembling wife tightly his arms. "our son is healthy.. that’s all that matters. I’ll make sure nothing like today happens again." He then glanced at the other guards. "Get me the surveillance. Whoever infiltrated this place needed to be apprehended."

"Yes, master." They left the room.

Ruelle stood right out the door looking quite fascinated.

"We apologize for the way they treated you miss Ruelle. This was a safety protocol that I had added. Please do not take offense."

Rule snapped out of her dazed state. "n-no it’s okay." She entered the room. But she paused after only one step. "I just came here to leave this behind. "She held up a huge bouquet of lilies. "It looks like you guys had a lot to do. I’ll come back later,"

"no, it’s okay, Ruelle." Bai Kiyuki rushed up to her but the girl just smiled kindly, bowed, and left.

Bai Kiyuki bit her bottom lips. "She must hate us now. Quzhu what do we do? She will not marry our son,"

Bai Quzhu wordlessly hugged her. "Let’s tend to our son first." They walked into the ward. the mysterious yellow liquid had been cleaned out but there was a bright golden shine on the ground.

Bai Kiyuki stepped over it and walked over to her son. She sat down on the sofa and gently held his hand. "I’m sorry for not being here with you, baby. I shouldn’t have gone home.. I’ll never leave you alone.. I promise mum will protect you." She gently laid her head on his hand.

A phone rang at that time.

Bai Quzhu spoke in a hushed tone. "Dear they got the surveillance video. I’ll go and check it out. Will you be okay alone?"

Bai Kiyuki nodded.

Kissing the top of her head, he walked out of the ward.

Kiyuki silently laid her head on her son’s warm hand. "You have always been so warm. Do you remember Yuri? You used to give away all of your toys to anyone who asked. You never kept anything for yourself. I was worried because you were so detached. You didn’t like anything, in particular, you didn’t hate anything either. You have never fought with anyone.. so why... who would have the heart to hurt you, my dear? Why would they put you through so much? Are the gods blind... why.. why must you suffer?" she silently sobbed.

The hand under her head gently shook. A warm finger graced her forehead.

Stunned, she sat up straight. Through her blurry eyes, she glanced at her son’s face. His eyes were slightly opened, looking her way.

"Oh baby, my baby... doctor! Doctor! Anyone. He is awake!" she pressed the call button hurriedly and reached out to her son. Her trembling hand gently cupped his face. "Yuri... can you see me? Oh, my god.. thank you, thank you for waking up,"

Bai Yuri slowly closed his eyes and blinked at her. he looked like he was unable to keep his eyes open.

"yes, yes mum is here. You can take a rest. Dear, but make sure you wake up. Please don’t worry about me so much."

The group of doctors all rushed to his room in a hurry. Seeing that Yuri was still asleep, they all sighed.

Bai Kiyuki glanced at them with a tear-stained face. "He is awake!! He just blinked at me. And his finger it touched my forehead. My son is awake. Please check on him, doctor."

The senior doctor checked on Yuri’s vitals. It was the same as usual. Yuri was completely normal. It was like he was just asleep.

Bai Quzhu ran back to the room panting he hopefully gazed at the doctors but they silently shook their heads.

He let out a small sigh and walked up to his wife.

"Honey, you’re here! look Yuri woke up! he woke up and blinked at me. He even touched my forehead.’ She squealed, hugged him and jumped around.

Quzhu did not say anything he silently held his wife letting her cry and laugh in glee. He gestured for the doctors to move out of the room.

"Why are they leaving? Are they done checking on him?" Kiyuki confusedly looked at the group of doctors. "What is it Quzhu? Why didn’t they say anything?"

Quzhu shook his head. "Nothing dear. He is completely okay. He is just tired and asleep. Why don’t we wait for him?"

"Yeah," Kiyuki sat down on the sofa peering up at her husband "why don’t you sound excited? Aren’t you happy our son is awake?"

"I’m very happy he is awake, dear." He sat down next her.

Kiyuki smiled up at him. "I know you love him more than I do. Who would have known a single engagement brought our son back to life? Ruelle is our life-saving grace. If not for her, our son would have still been dep in sleep like a sleeping beauty." She reached out and gently touched her son’s pink cheeks. "His vitality will increase after they are married... our son will have a chance to live a full and happy life."

Quzhu also noticed the weird flush on his son’s face., "he is not that pale as before..."

"I know, right? He is definitely fine honey. I told him to sleep if he was tired. He went back to sleep. We just need to wait a bit. He will wake up again." She sat there resolutely.

The whole day she refused to move looking solely at her son.

In the middle of the night, Quzhu watched his wife with tears in his eyes. After their young son was kidnapped, she had become too emotional, but after their eldest son was put in a coma, she was devastated. Her desperation might have caused a bit of hallucination.

He silently sent a message to the doctors inquiring about this condition. they had said that it might be due to lack of sleep. Or maybe due to depression. They could not say it for sure before they diagnose her in person.

He sat down beside her. Kiyuki was dozing off now and then but snapping awake and sitting up straight.

"Dear," he cupped her face and gently kissed her pale lips. "Why don’t you sleep on my shoulders? I’ll keep watch on him."

Kiyuki smiled softly. "You have to go to work tomorrow. It okays I can stay awake."’

"I can take a day off." he urged her to lean on his shoulder. "sleep.... I’ll be right here for the both of you."

Just as his wife laid her head on his shoulder, helpless tears started to drip down his face. He hurriedly wiped them away. "everything will be alright.. we will be fine..." he whispered to himself.

Suddenly, he saw something moving in his peripheral. Stunned, he glanced at the bed.

His son’s eyes were wide open, looking at them blankly.

"it.. It can’t be.. Yuri?"

His wife instantly woke up. "is he up?" she hurried over to the bed. "oh baby.. yore up. did you get good sleep? You scared mum for a second there." She gently kissed his forehead.

Bai Quzhu sat there, dazed. Their son was awake. He hurriedly pressed the call button. "Yuri... how do you feel, buddy? Does it hurt anywhere?" he held his son’s hand.

His index finger gently moved, touching his palm.

"yes, yes, it’s dad. We are here...." he chuckled. Tears clouded his vision. He hurriedly wiped them away to take a good look at his son. "you’re in a hospital son,"

Yuri’s eyes wandered around the room.

"You are completely fine now. Don’t worry about anything, mum and dad are here."

Yuri opened his mouth, but that oxygen tube stopped him from talking.

"You can’t talk baby. Wait a bit, I’ll ask the doctors to remove that. Don’t strain yourself okay." Kiyuki rapidly pressed the call button again and again.

Two doctors came to their ward.

Looking at Bai Yuri’s’ lively eyes they too were stunned. They did a whole-body check-up. "He is completely healthy as he was..."

"Then why was he asleep for so long?" Quzhu frowned slightly. he feared that this might reoccur again if they left the symptoms untreated.

"It might be that he was just tired."

Quzhu’s heart rate picked up. it was because of his early retirement that his young son had to take over the company. "I’ll make sure to take good care of him. Thank you, doctor."

"We’ll keep him under observation for a while,"

"Why isn’t he able to sit up?" Kiyuki glanced at them doubtfully.

"He has been asleep for a long time. He just needs to take time to get his body to operate as it used to. intense physical therapy might be needed to get him back on foot. But that is all for the later days. Now the patient just needs to eat and take as much arrest as he could."
