Eric finally had a chance to look down at his own chest. There was only a small tube sticking from his chest connected to a small bag with a slight red translucent liquid in it. What astonished him was not that but his wound. The place where the tube was sticking out as completely closed up. It looked like a part of his body. "What about the tube?"

"this is.. roll him up the x-rays. We need to get everything checked up! we can waste time! Move move!"

Everyone ran about.

In just a minute Eric was rolled up like a mummy and carried to another stretcher. He was then rolled over to get his x ray’s and his CT scan.

All the while Haolei was hovering over them worriedly. The doctors did not brief them about what was going on. So, he was equally panicked watching Eric being rolled away.

Eric settled down as the doctors did all his checkups and brought him over to his ward.

Haolei hurried over to his side. "What is wrong, doctor? Tell me right now!"

"we... we will only know for sure after we get the labs. We can assure you its not anything bad... it’s just.. I don’t know how to explain it," mumbling, the doctor walked out of the ward.

Haolei just glared ta his back. "What is this? He just walked away.!"

"Calm down, hao." Grandma held him back. "Just wait. Let the doctor do their job. Don’t go breathing down their necks."

"But they have the responsibility to give an actual answer!"

"They are busy, child just wait." She sat back down on the stool and continued her knitting.

Eric just smiled at her. She was fine. He liked her.

"Were you scared, child?"

Eric shook his head. "no. they said nothing was wrong with me," he glanced at Haolei to assure him.

But the cop got even more pissed. "But why did they take so many tests. There must be something wrong with you. They are not telling us everything! That’s why I hate hospitals!"

Afternoon came around and the doctors were nowhere to be seen. So, they had their lunch together while hao lei was still in a frustrated mood.

after they were done, their whole troupe of doctors rolled in with weird looks on their faces.

"so, you guys decided finally decided to give us an explanation. give that here," Haolei took eth reports. Of course, he didn’t understand anything written on it so he glared at the nearby doctor explain.

The young doctor looked at the senior most doctor who was behind him.

"I’ll explain it," the senior doctor stepped up. "In private, shall we talk in private?"

"No," Eric said loudly, startling them all. "I want to know what is wrong with me. So just talk here,"

The doctor gave him that weird look again. "Your little friend’s reports came back. its... I don’t know how to say this. Only one word can describe it. It’s a miracle. The suture wounds were gone. Even the threads had dissolved. There is barely a scar left behind. Only the chest tube is left there. Which is surprising. So, we took an x-ray. His lungs had recovered to its hundred percent."

"So?" Haolei raised a brow.

"He... he is completely healed."

"Are you kidding me?"

"I wish I was, but I’m not. He is completely recovered. All we have to do is take out eth tube. Nothing much,"

Listening to this, Eric frowned. ’Wait a minute I didn’t take a life-saving potion did I? system you there? Or are you dead?’

The system gave a soft beep.

Soon after in the evening, Eric was rolled over to the operating room again. This time, he was fully conscious. He was given a local anesthetic.

The doctor looked at him. "I’m going to pull out the tube. It is going to hurt but I want you to stay still, got it?"

"Got it," Eric tightly clenched eth sheets tightly bracing himself from the pain.

"There, all done." The doctor swiftly taped his wound up. "Does it hurt?"

"No," he looked at his own chest. He was expecting a stabbing pain at least but it was like an ant bite. that spot felt a bit sore, that’s all. ’Cultivation is fucking awesome!’

By the end of the night, he was out of the hospital loaded to up in a car heading off to the old grandmother’s house.

Along the way Eric felt a strange sense of anxiety. he was in a new place with new people. He did not know how to react.

Even back in his past life it was the same with his brother.

’I’ll get over it. These people are only trying to help... will not be a burden to them and will leave soon,’ he glanced at the back of Haolei who was driving eth car. ’I can make a escape after I reach their home. My body is healthy I can survive... but how will I find bai!’

Bai was not able to tell where exactly he was. But he could research where the bai family was staying. If so, he could go to their house and offer to heal him.

"I’m completely healed." Eric lifted his shirt up to reveal his healed sutures. "Even my fracture was healed! See, they removed the cast," he pointed to his foot.

Bai Yuri looked at him astonished. "how long was it since we met? I.. I don’t know how long passes out there. Was it too long?"

"No no, It was just last night we talked. It’s just my body is special. I can heal with cultivation. After we meet, ill teach you okay." he hugged him and kissed his cheeks. "I missed you so much,"

"mum’s name is Bai Kiyuki and my dad’s name is Bai Quzhu. We are from the y city province. Are you coming to meet me?" bai excitedly looked down at him.

A sudden shake pulled him forcefully out of the dream world.

Eric blinked his eyes, looking around confusedly.

Haolei had a worried look on his face looking at him, "are you okay? Shit, maybe we shouldn’t have left the hospital too early. Shall we go back?"

"Why?" Eric held his hand.

"You... you were motionless and breathless!"

Eric quietly looked at his lap. The system had warned him that with astral projection, his body would look like a corpse, but he completely forgot about it.
