Chapter 123: Chapter 123 - Nightmares

After getting the shocking news of his life, Kang was still left in a dazed state. He could not think of anything else... flamethrower. It was vividly occupying his imagination.

His brother, on the other hand, was casually getting ready for bed. "What are you still thinking about?" he patted his head.

"Flamethrowers...." He mumbled blankly.

"You silly goose," Chuckling Gwyn carried him over to the bed and covered him up in a soft fleece blanket. "Sleep, you will need a lot of energy for your rut. Conserve as much energy as you can,"

He didn’t even realize how tired he was until now. His eyes refused to stay open. "Goodnight." he mumbled, hugging the blanket close.

"Hmm sweet dreams Zhuzhu,"

Darkness occupied his dream.

He felt like he was floating around in the vast, cold ocean. All of a sudden, a dark figure flashed in his mind. A man was seated on a throne-like a chair holding a whip in hand. "what will a good dog do..." his low voice whispered close to his eyes.

He felt his body tremble violently. He could not stop himself. He saw his afterimage crawl towards that man.

"good dog.." the man pulled him up by his hair. "You are nothing more than a lapdog. Did you forget that?"

Kang’s heart started to pound loudly.

The man suddenly strangled his neck.

"Why did you betray me...." he screeched loudly in a high-pitched tone.

Kang felt breathless. He never felt so scared before.

He desperately garbed his arm, trying to break free.

"I will come for you... I will destroy everything you love,"

Kang snapped awake, panting loudly. His pillow was soaking wet from his sweat. ’Shit.. that was a dream... fuck.. it does not feel good. I felt like someone was really strangling for real...’ his dull gaze fell on the arm that was hugging his neck. ’Never mind, I was really being strangled to death by my dear brother,’

He pushed off his arm.

Gwyn simply rolled over to the other side and continued snoring loudly.

’I’ve had a similar dream before.... Does this dignify anything...’

The dream felt ominous.....

Kang laid in the bed wide awake. He was sleepless.

His dreams were not the problem, but it was.... the fucking bed!

It was a single person dorm size bed, and they both were squeezed into that tight space.

He wiggled around, pushing away his brother’s trunk like arm.

’Why is the bed so small? My feet are literally hanging out!’ he sat up with difficulty and glared at his snoring brother. This brute of a man forgot to mention that they had only one bed in this house!

How can two grown men sleep in a small bed like this? It was impossible.

"Gwyn," he kicked him. "Move to the right. I am literally hanging on the side,"

Gwyn groaned and rolled around facing him, "hmm what?"

"Move, make some space for me?"

A thick arm suddenly wrapped around his shoulders and pulled. Gwyn hugged him tightly. "sleep..."

"it’s humanely not possible," he grumbled, pushing his huge head away.

Gwyn slightly opened his eyes. "Your eyes are red. did you cry? that nightmare again?"

Kang frowned. "I used to have nightmares?"

"hmm..." Gwyn simply sat up wiping his eyes. "Come here," he pulled him close and hugged him tight.

"it’s already a tight space? why are you squeezing me, you brute...."

A small melodious hum came from him.

Kang glanced up at his brother in shock. Gwyn was humming a melodious and soothing tone. It was not a sign he had ever heard before... but It was heavenly to listen to.

He felt his tight nerves loosen up bit by bit.

Gwyn smiled and hugged him close to his body. "there, there.... I am here. I will chase away all your nightmares,"

Tears trickled down his cheeks just listening to the warm-hearted man’s soft hum and his steady heartbeat. "Have I told you before...I really love you brother,"

"I love you too." he whispered. "Now sleep."

Kang closed his eyes and slept peacefully in his warm, protected arms.

"Beep! Beep!" a loud beeping sound woke him up. dazedly, he sat up glancing around. his brother was sprawled on the side of the bed with half his body hanging out. But that doesn’t seem to have bothered him. he was still snoring so loudly.

"Beep! Beep!"

"What is that?" he scratched his bird’s nest hair and walked out the room. The sound was actually coming from the door. "who is it this early in the morning?"

He threw open the door. "what?"

The bright sun light shone in his eyes. he immediately closed them.

"hi I’m your new neighbor and I came here to...."

"Shut it, it’s too early to be selling stuff. I don’t want anything you are selling. Bye," he closed the door but a leather shoed foot jammed into the gap between the door. "What the hell? Do you really want a fracture early in the morning? I suggest you...." he opened the door fully, glaring at the man.

Looking at the familiar face, he froze.

"hi, sleepy head," Aaron gently tussled his hair.

Kang instantly woke up. he hurried out of the door and closed it behind him. "What are you doing here? Gwyn will freak out,"

Aaron pouted. "I came here to give you this," he held up a takeout bag. "Breakfast for my boyfriend,"

A smile crept up his face. he took the bag and looked in. heavenly smell of freshly cooked donuts, porridge and some kind of pickles hist his senses. "Gods, I am so blessed to have you,"

"Hmm did you have a good night’s sleep?" Aaron shyly smiled down at him.

"It was relatively good, expect the fact that my legs were hanging out the side. My brother sang a song. You would not believe it but that an has the voice of an angel," he pulled out a creamy donut from the box and stuffed his face. "Whoa these taste so good, here," he held it up for him.

Aaron took a small bite. "it’s good,"

Smirking Kang ate at the side his boyfriend had taken a bite.

Aaron, of course, noticed this. his blue eyes went dark. He slowly moved closer. "don’t tempt me so early in the morning,"

"Why? I like tempting my boyfriend." Kang placed his cream covered fingers at his lips.

Aaron licked them up. "shit.. I want to kiss you," he whispered hoarsely, biting his ears.

Kang shivered. "Not here. my brother..." suddenly he heard a loud thud from inside the house. "Shit my brother is awake! You have to go," he gently pushed him down the stairs.

Aaron gave him a quick kiss. "Eat well. we’ll meet later."

"hmm," smirking Kang walked back in. He couldn’t get rid of that giddy smile off his face. ’god I’m acting like a teenager..’ a small giggle escaped his lips.

"Why are you giggling creepily?" Gwyn glanced at him with disgust.

"What? I’m just happy,"

"Oh," his brother walked up to him, took the takeout bag from his hand. "Sweet, you got food."

"Hey that’s mine,"

"it’s mine now,"

In just a minute Gwyn chewed off two of his donuts. He even opened the porridge box and sniffed it. "It smells amazing. What’s in it?"

"I small abalone," Kang sat down next to him with two spoons. "Dig in,"

they both ate like savages and collapsed on the dusty couch.

"What now?" Gwyn pulled at his hair playfully.

"don’t know. I guess I’ll chill at home,"

"aren’t you going to check on your college? Your scholarship might get detained if you don’t give them a proper reason for your disappearance."

Kang groaned loudly. "I don’t know if I’m allowed to. I’ll ask him"

He rolled off the couch and searched for his phone on the messy floor. He finally found it inside his old jeans.

Tapping on the familiar name, he sent out a cute message with heart emojis.

His phone rang immediately. With a bright grin, he connected the call. "hi..."

"hi.." Aaron chuckled. "You can go to your college. I’ll arrange for someone to tail you,"

Kang frowned. "Why?"

"Its the protocol. Every super trainee has to be monitored by one of the experienced supers. It’s the small price we have to pay for our freedom,"

Kang dwindled with his jeans. "Okay fine. I’ll get ready for college then,"

"Hmm can’t wait to meet you," Aaron whispered so softly.

The tremor of his voice sent shivers down his spine.

He felt his body heat up subtly. "I’ll see you later than," he placed the phone down and giggled.

"Fuck I can’t get used to seeing you like this," Gwyn grumbled with that same look of disgust.

Kang rolled his eyes at him. "well, that’s what happened when you are in love. You too will one day experience that,"

He rushed to the shower and got ready in record time. He checked his class schedule while getting dressed. His class starts at nine and he had a few other classes after lunch.

It was not a tight schedule.

’Good I don’t think I will be awake for most of my classes,’ he yawned as he opened the door.

A loud honk startled him.

"Sorry if I scared you," Aaron put his head out of the car window with his trade mark white toothed smirk.

"What are you doing here?" he rushed up to him.

"oh I forgot to mention I’m your assigned mentor/protector. Good to meet you student,"

Zhu Kang giggled and jumped into the passenger seat. He threw himself at him and kissed his lips. "Good to meet you too teacher,"

Aaron growled softly as he bit his bottom lip.

Kang pulled away and sat down shyly in his seat. "I have classes in a few minutes. Take me there on time teacher~"

Aaron licked his still wet lips. "You will be the death of me."
