The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance -
Chapter 63: Impulsive
Chapter 63: Impulsive
When Violet finally managed to escape from Lucas’s attacks and get out of the kitchen, she spotted Lydia standing there.
"Do you need anything?" Violet asked.
Lydia shook her head.
As Violet then went to her room, Lydia approached Lucas and spoke out, "So, you confessed to her and got rejected."
There was a frown on Lucas’s face when he shifted his gaze towards Lydia. He never understood why she was so adamant on him being in love with Violet and getting turned down by her.
"What’s it to you? Now, don’t be an annoying fly here, and get away," he spoke out, pretending to swat her away like a pest.
Lydia raised her hand and patted on his shoulder. "My condolences."
After that, she was about to leave the kitchen when Lucas’s next set of actions caught her off guard. Water splashed on her head, drenching her like a wet rat.
When she turned her head to look at him, there was an empty mug in Lucas’s hand and a mischievous smile playing on his face.
"My condolences," he retorted in a mocking tone.
The vein in Lydia’s head throbbed in irritation. "Lucas! Now, you have done it!"

Violet hid her body under the blanket, curling up. The sleep in her eyes was drained away by the thoughts of Sylas. She wondered what the man was up to now.
A part of her was tempted to check up on the man— very badly at that.
However, the rationality was still maintained.
But the next instant, when the door was pushed open, Violet’s heart clenched tightly. The strong and rich scent of tangy yet sweet grape wine flooded her nose.
She felt shocked— both at how intense the scent was and how the man was here.
The anticipation on what the man wanted to do had her grappling with nervousness. Her toes arched, digging into the sheets. Violet’s breathing halted when she felt the man only getting closer to her.
What did he want to do?
The next moment, Violet felt the blanket being ripped away from her grip. Turned the other way, Violet tightly closed her eyes, trying her best shot at pretending to be asleep.
But the next moment, her chin was grabbed. A force turned her face the other way, and then her eyes met those pair of striking golden eyes.
So intensely beautiful.
Just like the man in front of her.
His lazy and messy appearance ignited lustful thoughts withing Violet. Her round hazel eyes traced the veins protruding from his forearm before disappearing into his sleeve that was folded to his arm.
His shoulder-length black hair was wet and ruffled. His usual gentle and neat outlook was replaced by something wildly sensual. Violet’s lips fell on those lips, and she recalled the domineering gesture from last time.
It caused her cheeks to become flushed.
"A-Alpha, what are you doing here so late at night?" Violet stuttered out.
"Get in." His deep, horse voice came.
Violet stared at him in confusion.
Impatience crossed through his eyes.
The next second, Violet could only gasp in shock when the Alpha lifted her effortlessly and shifted her further inside the bed. Her eyes blinked when he got on the bed and laid down.
"A-Alpha?" The expression on her face cracked. The nervousness was overtaken by how perplexed she was.
Sylas furrowed his brows and patted on the pillow, silently asking her to lay down.
Violet felt confused but understood it was his wolf taking over his personality. As a werewolf herself, she understood the wolf side acted more based on instincts, rather than logic. However, she did not know what to make of Sylas’s behaviour.
"Alpha, you rest here. I-uh- I am going to get some water. Yeah, that’s it— Ah!"
Before Violet could get up, her wrist was grabbed, and her body fell downwards, landing in Sylas’s arms. He wrapped his hand around her tightly and securely with a possessive tendency.
He then brought his face closer to Violet’s neck and sniffed. A chill traveled down Violet’s back while her entire body froze and stiffened. Although she was taken aback, excitement rose within her.
Her mind began to overrun, trying to find an explanation for Sylas’s wolf’s actions.
Could it that he liked her scent?
Or was it that he felt attracted to her?
And then her processing unit heat up and went haywire when a pair of teeth dug into her neck, biting her. There was a soft pain followed by a chilling sensation.
The tongue running over her bare skin made Violet unable to take it anymore.
Although she was previously mates with Mathew, their relationship couldn’t progress further physically because the man though she was too young for everything.
"Alpha!" she screeched out, instantly pushing the man away from her.
Her cheeks were flushed red. Violet sat up on the bed instantly and went backwards, leaning against the wall while holding her knees in a protective gesture.
There was dissatisfaction in Sylas’s face.
As the man laid there on bed, another one of his shirt’s button was undone. His well-defined, muscular body leading to his lean yet powerful waist following the firm line peaked out. On his strikingly handsome face, the clenched jaw due to his impatience only added a layer of attractiveness to him.
Those pairs of golden eyes locked in on her, glowing with wild passion, making her heart race. He was absolutely irresistible— dangerous, dominant, and devastatingly beautiful.
Violet found herself caught in the trap, unable to escape.
The instincts of a prey rose high within her, but like a foolish moth drawn to a flame, she watched when he extended his hand towards her.
She admired his slender, long fingers for a while. Even his hand was beautiful. She raised her palm and placed it on his. The size difference between them was pitiful.
Although the man’s scent intoxicated her, driving her further into the madness, Violet held on to her last string of sanity.
"Let’s hold hands, alright?" Violet spoke out— her voice coming out more shaky than intended.
Sylas stared at her in discontent.
She solemnly carried on, "There is nothing more I can compromise. You see, I am with a child now, and so if you act rashly, I will only be hurt, the child too. Do you understand?"
A disgruntled growl left Sylas’s mouth but he nodded obediently.
A small smile formed at the corner of Violet’s lips.
’Why was he oddly cute?’
Then, Sylas scooted over, holding her hand close to his chest as if it was something precious and closed his eyes. Although Violet had many thoughts in her head, the sleepiness clouded her brain.
’I will just deal with it tomorrow.’
With that, she found herself dozing off.
When she opened her eyes next, the sunlight peeked in from the window. In her dazed state, her hazel eyes were welcomed with the sight of Sylas’s beautifully sculpted face.
Right, he slept over last night.
This was the first time she had seen him sleep. All the aggressiveness has worn off, making him look gentle and peaceful. Her eyes traced down to his inviting, pink lips.
Somersaults were carried out in her stomach. The impulse made her lean closer, enjoying the sharp scent of grape wine, and the next instant, tempted to try out the feel of those soft lips, she pressed down her lips on his.
His face truly pushed one to commit crime.
Violet’s heart rapidly beat in her chest.
And then, the next moment the pair of eyes before her opened, revealing a steely-blue gaze.
Color drained out of Violet’s face.
