The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance -
Chapter 45: Prison
Chapter 45: Prison
"Alpha Mathew," Sylas called.
The moment the name was announced, everyone’s eyes darted towards Mathew, wondering how someone so insignificant managed to attract Sylas’s attention.
Apprehension built up within Mathew.
Was he going to bring up Violet’s matter?
He tried hardest to maintain the composure within him. No matter what, he could not let anything slip.
The pack was his, and no one was going to snatch it away from him!
"I believe I found a footage that would interest you, Alpha Mathew. After all, it belongs to your mate," enunciated Sylas.
A frown appeared on Mathew’s face.
"A footage? Of Violet?" Mathew spoke out. Confusion was clear in his voice.
No matter what the footage showed, Mathew did not have the courage for it to be exposed. But he could only helplessly watch when Sylas placed his laptop on the table, playing a video on it next.
The video started out by showing a scene inside the bar. There was Mathew standing there, chatting with the waiter inside the bar. He placed a drink on the waiter’s tray.
Although the voice was not present, his hand pointed towards a direction. It was Violet sitting in the middle of the couch, chatting with Bella beside her.
The next moment Mathew brought out Bella, and the waiter served the drink to Violet. Few minutes after consuming the drink, it could be seen that she lost her consciousness and the waiter supported her out of there.
Color drained out of Mathew’s face once the video stopped playing.
How did that video get in Sylas’s hand?
"And with that, I would like to bring up the possibility of Luna Violet being harmed by Alpha Mathew. The pack after all belongs to her. There is no reason for her to run away from the pack.
And the biggest beneficiary from this entire incident is Alpha Mathew. Therefore, I hope the council would be able to look into this matter more carefully, so that you do not let an injustice pass by."
Mathew got up his seat and vocalized, "Alpha Sylas, I am well aware you do not want any injustice to be carried out, but nothing in my video shows I wanted to harm Violet.
I just thought of a drink Violet would enjoy. Therefore, I let the waiter take it to her, and I took out Violet’s friend because I planned to surprise Violet. But who could have thought Violet would take this time to act indecently?" There was sadness in his voice, revealing the wounds of a broken hearted man.
"Oh? That’s your mate. Instead of handing the drink yourself, you made the waiter do it. Isn’t that interesting?"
Although there was nonchalance written all over Sylas’s face, Mathew felt as though those pair of silver-blue eyes were mocking up, asking him if he thought everyone were fools.
"Alpha Sylas, I do not know what I have done to offend you, but I see nothing suspicious about my actions. Everyone knows Violet is my loved mate. Why would I want to harm her? Why would anyone hurt their mate? I can’t imagine the idea of it?" Mathew’s words held great grievances in them.
Sylas smilingly shook his head before turning to Jacob Millar.
"The previous Alpha of the Blue Rise handed down several mine to his heir. That is enough to give rise to greed within many. We can take Alpha James for consideration.
The fight between them happened from a mine both wanted to take possession of. However, from my personal search, it can be seen the mines belong to their heir, not the entirity of pack. Therefore, if the council could step in, it would make overseeing of matter simpler."
To say many were shocked by seeing Sylas intervene in this affair would be an understatement. All the years Sylas has been here, he kept to himself, not getting into the murky waters.
However, to do this for the heir of Blue Rise pack, they wondered what the story behind it could be.
"If Alpha Sylas wishes to deal with Alpha Mathew, he has no chance."
"Right. But why do you think Alpha Sylas is going against Alpha Mathew? Did he offend him?"
"I am not sure. But there are rumors how former Luna Violet was taken under his custody."
"What?"
The shared whispers reached into Mathew’s ears. His emotions heightened, feeling as though everyone was making fun of him. But Mathew did not break his mask of being a victim.
"If that is needed to clear the suspicions over me, I am willing to cooperate. However, the livelihood of the pack depends on the pack, and as a small pack, it would be difficult to sustain without it. I hope the council will take that into consideration." Mathew’s tone was humble.
Jacob thoughtfully stared at Sylas before replying, "The council will decide what to do. A decision will be announced soon."
Sylas was about to say something when his phone rang. When he took out the phone, he received the call from the unknown number, and the next second he was greeted with, "Alpha, we have been taken to the police station."

Growing up, Violet was an obedient child who barely got into trouble. There were not many who would lead her astray given her status. Everyone respected her, let her have her way, and treasured her.
Therefore, even though the officer in front of her was a human, the strong eyes of disapproval on her made Violet timid. She gulped, feeling the apprehension grow between her.
Her eyes went towards the metal bars. She prayed in her heart, wishing for the Alpha to arrive soon and let her out of this nerve-wracking place.
Lucas, on the other hand, had no hesitation in wearing a relaxed expression on his face, leaning against the chair casually as though it was merely another day of the week for him.
On the other side was the enraged owner of the car. Although he was calmed down by the officer, those glaring eyes conveyed his strong emotions well.
Violet misidentified the car, and the car they ended up damaging belonged to someone else. Immense embarrassment and guilt went through her. If possible, she wanted to have the ground swallow her.
When Sylas stepped into the station, Violet’s spine bent down further, staring down at her feet. They fidgeted with her fingers, afraid of what was about to come.
"Hello, I am Sylas Hale. I have been contacted here to come here for both of them, Lucas and Violet," Sylas vocalized.
"About time you’re here. Violet here was about to wilt away," Lucas joked.
Sylas’s stern gaze fell on Lucas, and he straightened up instantly.
The officer stood up from his seat and informed, "Both of them sneaked into Moonshine Hotel and vandalised his car. He is the owner of the car."
Although Violet’s head was down, she could feel the heavy weight of Sylas’s eyes on her. This made her feel even more despondent.
Sylas’s eyes fell on the owner of the car and greeted him. The angry man got up from his seat and loudly spoke out, "These two piece of shits ruined my car. All the parts of my cars were specially manufactured. Do these imbeciles know how much it costs? Can you fucking afford it!? I am going to send you all to rot away behind the bars for life!"
This made Violet shrink more.
"Man, that car was already ugly to begin with. If anything, we gave you the opportunity to remodel it to something better. You should be grateful. I wouldn’t charge you if you ask me for advise to make it better," Lucas shot back.
This made the man raise his hand about to beat Lucas but controlled his temper the last second.
Sylas looked towards the officer.
"I am not associated with both of them. You can lock them up if they can not pay for the damages," Sylas coldly said to the officer.
Finally, Violet raised her head. Her red-tinted, watery eyes stared at the Alpha, as if silently asking if he could bear to leave her alone here.
"This is all my fault. I identified the wrong car," Violet softly expressed— her voice came out cracked. A trail of tear fell down her cheek.
"Wrong car?" Sylas arched his brow.
"I went to the hotel, intending to meet you there. Because you were going to the meeting, I was nervous for you. But then I learned Mathew was there, and I thought he brought my car there. That’s why, I thought I was breaking my own car." Violet’s words were half truth and half lie.
More tears formed in Violet’s eyes.
