The Rise of Dragon Son-in-Law -
Chapter 375 - 365: Take Your Time
Chapter 375: Chapter 365: Take Your Time
Long Chen stared at the Third Guardian, his expression icy cold.
The Third Guardian kept kowtowing, hoping that Long Chen would spare his life.
In the process, his forehead cracked and blood oozed out.
"You must die."
With a swift motion, Long Chen’s sword fell without any hesitation, decisively killing the Third Guardian.
After the death of the Third Guardian, Long Chen used his blood to write eight characters on the ground, teeming with a murderous aura: A dragon has reverse scales, touch them and one dies.
Having written the eight characters, Long Chen sheathed his sword and left.
In this battle, Undying Mountain suffered the loss of two Great Protectors and a multitude of experts, a tragic defeat indeed.
The sole survivor was Yang Taixuan, who had left early.
Yang Taixuan was smart; he knew that the Great Protector and the others had crossed Long Chen’s bottom line.
He didn’t want to die, so he left first.
About an hour after Long Chen left, Ning Xianzhi, the Hall Master of the Heavenly God Temple, returned to the inn.
After inspecting the scene and finding almost all of Undying Mountain’s people dead, his eyes turned cold.
At last, when he saw those eight bold characters, Ning Xianzhi clenched his fists even tighter.
It was his idea to catch Long Chen with the Time Blade, and now with almost the entire force from Undying Mountain annihilated, Ning Xianzhi felt a burning shame.
"Long Chen, oh Long Chen, I originally did not want to confront you directly, but now it seems, to find out about my two sons, I have no choice but to meet you," Ning Xianzhi muttered to himself.
"If you had such an idea earlier, Lord Ning, and collaborated with my people from Undying Mountain instead of running away, perhaps by now, we would have already defeated Long Chen," a voice sounded.
Following that, Yang Taixuan and a group of the inn’s original staff appeared at the entrance.
"You’re still alive?"
Ning Xianzhi narrowed his eyes slightly.
"I’ve said before that we cannot touch Long Chen’s bottom line, and now, look, the Second and Third Guardians, along with many brothers from Undying Mountain, have all died at Long Chen’s hands."
Yang Taixuan’s expression was somber.
Although he admired Long Chen, having so many people killed by Long Chen still made Yang Taixuan extremely upset.
Ning Xianzhi’s face darkened, "So, are you blaming me now?"
"I wouldn’t dare, but I believe there were significant problems with your decisions," Yang Taixuan said.
"What do you think we should do now then?" asked Ning Xianzhi.
"I still stand by my previous notion; we cannot forcefully attack Great Xia Mansion, we can only cooperate. Besides cooperation, there is no other way. Within the Great Xia territory, all the powers that try to confront Great Xia Mansion head-on will be crushed to smithereens," Yang Taixuan declared solemnly.
"Such talk is like bolstering others’ morale while destroying our own prestige. If Undying Mountain were filled with people like you, it would hardly last long," Ning Xianzhi scoffed.
Yang Taixuan said nothing but sneered in his heart.
He wanted to say, aren’t you from the Heavenly God Temple, left with only a single commander after opposing Long Chen as well?
But Yang Taixuan didn’t dare say this aloud; making such a statement would undoubtedly enrage Ning Xianzhi and seal a deadly fate for him.
"You may leave, there is only you, Yang Taixuan left in Undying Mountain now, and you are of no interest to me," Ning Xianzhi waved dismissively.
Yang Taixuan took a deep breath and responded, "Lord Ning, I need to collect the bodies of my fellow disciples. Furthermore, I’ve informed the Mountain Master, and the Mountain Master said the Young Mountain Master will come to handle it."
"It has nothing to do with me."
Ning Xianzhi stepped away and left the inn.
After much hesitation and contemplation, he finally made his way alone to the exterior of Great Xia Mansion.
Facing the majestic and dominant Great Xia Mansion, Ning Xianzhi took a deep breath and loudly called out, "Hall Master Ning Xianzhi of the Heavenly God Temple requests an audience with the Lord of Great Xia Mansion, Long Chen."
After shouting, Ning Xianzhi shouted again.
His voice was full of breath, the sound waves vast, covering the entire Great Xia Mansion.
The people of Great Xia Mansion were startled and appeared one after another, watching Ning Xianzhi with caution.
Ning Xianzhi stood motionless, unafraid.
Inside, Long Chen heard Ning Xianzhi’s voice, but he remained unmoved, sitting and chatting over tea with Xia Ling.
"Aren’t you going to go out and see? Maybe you should go take a look."
Xia Ling reminded Long Chen.
"Not in a hurry," Long Chen said, "Let that old thing wait a bit longer."
"Aren’t you worried that the big fish that walked right into the net will escape again?" Xia Ling asked.
"Not worried," Long Chen replied, "He came for his two sons. Now that Ning Shenji and Ning Shenhua are missing, his worry has peaked, which is why he couldn’t help but come to find me."
"So, what do you plan to do in the end?"
Xia Ling asked, curious.
"Depends on his performance."
Long Chen smiled and calmly took a sip of water.
Outside, Ning Xianzhi waited a full half-hour, grinding his teeth with rage.
In his career, no one had ever dared to treat him this way.
But for the sake of his sons, Ning Xianzhi had no choice but to endure.
Finally, after forty minutes, Long Chen appeared at the entrance,
Seeing Ning Xianzhi, Long Chen stretched lazily, "I hear you wanted to see me?"
"Yes," Ning Xianzhi suppressed his anger, looking at Long Chen directly, "Long Chen, a visitor is a guest, you made a guest wait outside for forty minutes, is that how you treat your guests?"
"You think you qualify as a guest?" Long Chen scrutinized Ning Xianzhi, "I didn’t strike you down on the spot; I’ve already given you plenty of face. You’re unhappy about waiting for forty minutes?"
"Why would you say that?"
"Those idiots from Undying Mountain tried to capture someone close to me, that was your doing, wasn’t it? You don’t really think I’m unaware, do you?"
Long Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Ning Xianzhi’s face shifted slightly, and he truly wished to strike Long Chen dead.
However, Ning Xianzhi did not dare — firstly, the odds of success were slim, and secondly, only this Long Chen knew of the whereabouts of his two sons.
Thus, despite a hundred displeasures, Ning Xianzhi had to bear it.
"Long Chen, both of my sons disappeared mysteriously because of you. Please understand the heart of a father. In desperation, I thought of taking the wrong path."
Ning Xianzhi stated solemnly.
"You’re quite straightforward," Long Chen said, "You want to know the whereabouts of Ning Shenji and Ning Shenhua; it’s not difficult. Pay the price for what you’ve done, and I will let you and your sons reunite. Rest assured, they are still alive for now, but if you don’t follow the rules, I can’t guarantee their safety."
"You’re the Lord of Great Xia Mansion, don’t you feel ashamed to make such threats?"
Ning Xianzhi clenched his fists.
"Ashamed?" Long Chen sneered, "Isn’t this exactly what you wanted to do to me?"
"You..."
Ning Xianzhi’s face turned red with anger.
Long Chen stared at Ning Xianzhi and commanded sternly, "You, kneel and speak."
"You want me to kneel and talk?"
Ning Xianzhi doubted his own ears, his gaze sharpening like twin blades.
"Won’t comply?"
"Won’t comply."
"Good." Long Chen took out his mobile phone, dialed the City Lord’s number, "The two captives you’re holding, chop off the hands of the bigger one, take a photo, and send it to me."
"Yes."
The City Lord agreed immediately.
Long Chen then hung up and turned to Ning Xianzhi, whose face had gone pale, "No worries, we can take our time with this. Their hands, feet, ears, we can have fun with those several times, right? You like to capture people and threaten others, don’t you? This game should be fun; let’s try it in reverse."
