The Rise of Dragon Son-in-Law
Chapter 338 - 328

Chapter 338: Chapter 328

Ye Zhiqiu’s eyes appeared as if veiled by a layer of mist, indescribably captivating.

Long Chen held her and could feel that she was deeply moved at the moment.

"You’ve changed a lot."

Long Chen chuckled.

"If I have set my heart on a man, I will reveal myself completely to him, without any facades. I want you, hmph."

Ye Zhiqiu cooed.

"Then, I can only satisfy you."

Long Chen chuckled.

"What are we waiting for then? Let’s go now, hehe, I feel like I’ve changed a bit recently."

"What change?"

"For instance, I’ve gotten bigger."

"Ha ha, really?"

"You can check for yourself."

After staying a night, Long Chen left the Imperial City and returned to the Dragon Palace.

He told Long’er about what Ancestor Xia had told him, and passed on the more advanced Cultivation Method to Long’er.

"No matter what, as long as it’s your decision, I will follow you unconditionally.

Besides, everyone at the Dragon Palace will also listen to you. They trust you much more than they trust me."

Long’er spoke softly.

"Good, that’s reassuring, but there’s no need to rush this matter. You all should focus on your cultivation first. I need to go back to Qianzhou and set up the Great Xia Mansion there. I’ll let you know when it’s time." Long Chen said.

"So you are leaving soon?"

Long’er looked at Long Chen with a hint of melancholy.

"Don’t worry, I’ll leave tomorrow morning, I’ll spend the night with you."

"Then I’ll have to take good care of you. Let me go take a bath."

After staying a night in the Dragon Palace, Long Chen went back to Qianzhou the next day.

He didn’t go home directly; instead, he toured around Qianzhou looking for a suitable location for Great Xia Mansion, with some options in mind.

By evening, Long Chen finally returned home to consult with Xia Ling and others.

When Long Chen roughly mentioned his plan to establish Great Xia Mansion, Xia Ling and the others did not start with helping him choose a location but were all stunned, motionless.

"I’m talking to you here, could you please offer some suggestions?"

Long Chen gave a wry smile.

"The Great Xia Mansion... that name sounds very significant, it shows that what you intend to do is substantial."

Xia Ling said.

"Indeed, it’s substantial." Long Chen responded: "All cultivators within Great Xia must be governed by the Great Xia Mansion. Foreign cultivators are forbidden to enter Great Xia, and the Great Xia Mansion will have the power of life and death."

"I understand," Xia Ling said: "It is, in fact, to protect Great Xia."

"Smart."

Long Chen gave a thumbs up.

"If such a majestic mansion is needed, I suggest building it at the center of Qianzhou," Li Yuechan spoke softly: "At the center of Qianzhou, we can be in touch with the Qianzhou Prefecture immediately, which means, we can get lots of information easily.

For example, if there are foreign cultivators or if any cultivators from within Great Xia are causing trouble, it would be much easier to have the government office assist in investigations, monitoring, and gathering evidence."

"Yuechan makes sense, the center of Qianzhou is indeed better," Xia Ling agreed.

Long Chen said: "I picked two places, one in the suburbs and one in the center of Qianzhou, not far from the Qianzhou Prefecture.

I thought about the suburbs because it was likely to be quieter, less likely to be disturbed by many people, but now it seems, it has to be in the center."

"If you have chosen to establish the Great Xia Mansion in Qianzhou, there’s no way it could be quiet."

"Exactly."

"Then let’s settle on the center of Qianzhou, Xia Ling, come with me tomorrow to check it out, let’s get it done."

"Okay, good."

Xia Ling nodded in agreement.

At night, a bright moon hung high in the sky, casting soft moonlight all over the city.

Long Chen sat alone on the rooftop, staring into the night sky, somewhat absent-minded.

Suddenly, Long Chen saw a crowd in the distance, faintly hearing cries.

Using his powers, Long Chen immediately saw clearly the scene where the crowd gathered.

On the ground, a woman lay in a pool of blood, presumably lifeless.

Upon discovering this, Long Chen leapt down from the rooftop and rushed to the scene.

"What happened here?"

Long Chen asked a young woman.

The young woman whispered softly, "It’s said that she was possessed. She walked out mumbling to herself and then committed suicide right here."

"Suicide?"

Long Chen frowned.

He then pushed through to the deceased’s side.

The family of the deceased was wailing in grief.

Long Chen pulled aside a family member and asked, "Did she show any abnormalities before she died?"

"People are already dead, what’s the point in asking now? Just stop asking, please," the man, with tears streaming down his face, implored.

Long Chen pressed sternly, "This incident happened in our area, so it’s necessary to determine whether she was murdered or if it was indeed a suicide due to mental health issues. Reflect carefully—did she meet any strange people recently? Or have you seen any odd individuals around?

Personally, I think, given her young age, it’s unlikely she’d commit suicide unless there were mental issues, or if someone harmed her. Otherwise, I can’t think of any other reasons."

Hearing Long Chen’s words, the man seemed to awaken suddenly, getting agitated, "Right, you are correct. My daughter didn’t have any mental problems, not at all. She always faced things positively. She wouldn’t have committed suicide; she must have been murdered."

"Then think carefully, did she meet anyone..."

Long Chen’s words halted abruptly as he suddenly turned around.

Swoosh.

A shadow flashed behind the crowd.

Long Chen’s eyes turned cold; without hesitation, he chased after it.

The shadow moved swiftly but stood no chance in a race against Long Chen, who soon cut off its path.

Unable to escape, the shadow flung its head, staring directly into Long Chen’s eyes.

Long Chen’s mind jolted at the sight of a pair of pitch-black pupils.

Those pupils, like those of a devil.

"You must die, you have to die, or your loved ones and friends will die because of you. Commit suicide, you should commit suicide."

The shadow murmured repetitively.

Long Chen furrowed his brow, feeling a mystic force from the shadow’s pupils trying to influence his mind.

But the shadow’s spiritual power was far inferior to Long Chen’s.

Bang.

Long Chen raised his hand and slapped the shadow to the ground.

The figure screamed; the black cloth on its face also shattered, revealing its true visage.

It was an extremely pale face framed with those ink-black pupils, resembling a ghastly demon.

"Who are you? Why are you committing crimes here?"

Long Chen asked in a deep voice.

"Because she wouldn’t obey while she was clear-headed. She must die if she doesn’t obey."

The person on the ground rasped out a hoarse voice.

"Then, who are you?"

Long Chen asked.

"Who am I? Keke, who am I? Haha, you don’t need to know who I am, but you watch out. Soon, all of Qianzhou will turn into hell."
