Chapter 294: Chapter 285: Entering the Temple
This side, Long Chen, still didn’t know he was being targeted by a formidable enemy.
Having left the Ye Family, he did not go to a bar.
Because had he gone to the bar, it would have been all too easy for members of the Ye Family to find him.
After much thought, Long Chen still went to the place he had initially told Ye Zhiqiu he most wanted to visit.
This place was called Shaolin!
Upon entering Shaolin, Long Chen requested to meet with the abbot.
However, when his request reached the abbot, the abbot refused to meet Long Chen.
Long Chen didn’t get discouraged and didn’t give up.
For the following consecutive week, Long Chen never gave up, visiting the temple every day.
Finally, on the eighth day, the abbot agreed to meet Long Chen.
This abbot, already over ninety, evidently looked very old, but his vitality still appeared to be quite full.
"Donor," the old abbot said, "I am old and blind, which is why I didn’t meet you for seven days. Please, forgive me."
The old abbot’s smile was gentle.
"Have you gone blind, Master?" Long Chen asked.
"I have been blind for twenty years," the old abbot said.
"I see," Long Chen said naturally. "Master, the reason I wished to enter your temple is that recently, I have been feeling restless and the True Qi I cultivated cannot condense within my body. This might be because my Dantian is damaged. I wonder if you could allow me to stay in the temple for a while to calm myself?"
"Would you come here and let me feel, Donor? Would you mind?"
the old abbot asked.
"Of course not."
Long Chen immediately moved a bit closer.
The old abbot reached out, touched Long Chen’s head, and his expression immediately changed.
Then, he repeatedly touched Long Chen’s head, as if confirming something.
Two minutes later, the old abbot withdrew his hand, and it was slightly trembling with excitement.
"Master, what’s wrong?" Long Chen asked hastily.
"It’s nothing, it’s nothing. It’s just that upon touching the Donor, I found his bones extraordinary. Such a destiny is rare both in ancient and modern times; had he been born in the chaotic ancient times, he would have had the destiny of an emperor," the old abbot said with a smile.
At these words, Long Chen was startled and laughed, not taking it seriously, and asked with a smile, "Then, does that mean, Master, that you are allowing me to stay in the temple temporarily?"
"Of course. Donor, please rest assured and stay as long as you wish but let me say this beforehand, if your worldly ties have not yet ended, you cannot shave your head and become a monk," the old abbot said, half joking and half serious.
"That definitely won’t happen,"
"That’s good then. Yuanchen, take this Donor and arrange a residence," the old abbot said with a smile.
"Alright."
A young monk standing nearby immediately left with Long Chen.
After Long Chen left, the old abbot immediately called a middle-aged monk in.
The middle-aged monk brought his palms together and performed a salute, "Abbot, elder brother, do you have instructions?"
"Jingxin, the young man who came just now, he is that person’s son," the old abbot said excitedly.
"Which person?"
Jingxin was a bit confused.
The old abbot stroked his white, flowing beard and said, "From the East, the one with the surname Long."
Jingxin took a sharp intake of breath.
"Is he the son of that person? But, elder brother, how do you know?" Jingxin was somewhat puzzled.
The old abbot said, "I once felt that eminent person’s skull. This Donor’s is exactly the same. If not his son, no one else could have such bones."
"I see," Jingxin said excitedly. "It seems our temple has welcomed an important figure this time."
"Indeed, an important figure. But, this young Donor’s condition is a bit strange. His memory seems to be lost. To restore it, more effort will be needed. Our temple was once saved by that person; now, we can also consider it a chance to repay that favor." The old abbot said with a smile.
