The Rise of Dragon Son-in-Law -
Chapter 235 - 230
Chapter 235: Chapter 230
Li Yuechan and the others all listened quietly to Han Min’s roaring tirade, without uttering a word.
Han Min, however, seemed as if she couldn’t stop herself, with the cursing continuing incessantly.
"That damn Long Chen, I curse him to a terrible death."
"How he has treated me, he will have no offspring."
"Heavens, such a despicable thing."
Han Min’s curses resonated nonstop.
Zhuge Xuan couldn’t bear to listen anymore and abruptly stood up, shouting, "If you disrespect my brother Long Chen again, don’t blame me for being impolite to you."
"She shows no sign of remorse, alas, Sister Yuechan, what do we do about this?"
Little Unrivaled asked Li Yuechan in a low voice.
Now, the truth was revealed.
The traitor was indeed Han Min.
But Han Min herself was still unaware that her actions were known.
"Yuechan, Yuexin, Long Chen has treated me this way, haven’t you both seen the light yet? If he truly loved you, he wouldn’t have done this to me, including breaking my leg; therefore, let’s hurry and leave this place, I will take you to the Imperial City."
Han Min said through gritted teeth.
"Have you said enough?"
Li Yuechan wiped her tears and stared at Han Min, loudly questioning, "Do you really think you can continue to hide what you’ve done? Cao Qiu and Hua Qingfeng have both been here, and they’ve admitted to the poisoning."
Upon hearing this, Han Min’s face changed.
This change, it made Li Yuechan even more certain—the poison came from Han Min.
But Han Min still refused to admit it.
"Yuechan, don’t listen to their nonsense. They just want us to fight amongst ourselves to execute their sinister plots. Don’t be fooled."
Han Min said solemnly, with all the air of truth.
"Mother, please stop making excuses. Because of you, Long Chen almost died, did you know that? And us, we were all nearly doomed. Why can your heart be so cruel?"
Li Yuechan gripped her hands tight, her disappointment in Han Min reaching its peak at that moment.
Han Min grabbed Li Yuechan’s hand, "Yuechan, you truly can’t trust the words of an enemy; their credibility is very low."
"Is Long Chen also an enemy? Has he treated you badly? He gave tens of millions just like that, why would you do this to him? I really don’t understand."
Li Yuechan struggled to free herself from Han Min’s grasp.
"If you insist on believing it was me, no matter how much more I say, you won’t believe me. So, what do you plan to do with me now? My leg has already been broken, do you intend to break the other one?"
Han Min spat angrily.
Li Yuechan took a deep breath, then said solemnly, "You don’t need to repay those millions. From this moment on, the maternal bond between us is hereby severed."
"What are you saying? Li Yuechan, have you gone mad? To spite your own birth mother for a man, what are you thinking?"
Han Min’s eyes brimmed with shock, "Yuechan, I urge you not to act rashly. Your father hopes greatly that you go to the Imperial City. His influence there is unimaginable; if you treat me this way, your future..."
"That doesn’t concern me." Li Yuechan said firmly, "All I know is that, from your actions, you truly do not deserve to be a mother. You have continuously harmed Long Chen and me. Do you understand that if I truly lose Long Chen, my life will have no more light? You know it, yet you don’t care. You always try to control and restrict me with your selfish rules—why? Starting today, you will no longer have that chance, never again."
"You..."
Han Min opened her mouth but was so angry that she couldn’t speak a word.
"Mother, I will call you this for the last time." Li Yuexin stared at Han Min, dead serious, "Since the second you let that beast assault me, I lost all trust in you. If it weren’t for my brother-in-law, I think I wouldn’t even have the courage to live on. I cannot accept how you have hurt him, and I hope that in the future, you can truly come to repentance and behave yourself. If you can’t change, that is no longer our concern. Just be aware, not everyone is like my sister and me, tolerating your whims over and over again. I’ve said all there is to say."
Li Yuexin’s words settled, leaving Zhao Churan and Xia Ling utterly stunned.
They had not anticipated that such an assault had transpired against Li Yuexin and that Han Min had even abetted the perpetrator.
This revelation was shocking and made their skin crawl.
Han Min too realized that she was at the end of her rope. With one leg broken, if her daughters refused to tend to her, who else would care?
Considering this, Han Min quickly said, "Then... at the very least, take me to the hospital for admission. I don’t want this leg to be crippled forever. Can you help me?"
"Yuexin, call an ambulance."
Li Yuechan said.
"Ok."
Li Yuexin immediately dialed the phone.
During the wait for the ambulance, Han Min constantly tried to placate the Li Yuechan sisters.
But they were no longer children.
Han Min’s behavior had deeply hurt them, and they were not likely to easily forgive Han Min.
When the ambulance arrived at the scene, Han Min was loaded onto the vehicle.
But Li Yuechan and the others were not allowed to go with, as they were stopped by the people left by the Martial Alliance.
"Are you trying to restrict our freedom?"
Xia Ling asked in a grave voice.
"I’m sorry, Supervisor Xia, but until we find Long Chen, you cannot leave, so please cooperate."
A man said sternly.
"Fine, very well." Xia Ling sneered and turned around, "I really want to see how long you can keep up this arrogance."
...
Outside, Hua Qingfeng and Cao Qiu led people to search for Long Chen’s whereabouts and had mobilized a large network of contacts.
But after searching for several hours, there was not a single clue.
"I’m sure Long Chen must be injured too. Has he vanished into thin air?"
Cao Qiu frowned.
"Could he have already left Qianzhou?"
Hua Qingfeng clenched his fists tightly, "If we miss this opportunity, it will be much more difficult to deal with Long Chen in the future."
Hua Qingfeng’s conjecture, however, was negated by Cao Qiu, "His woman is still in Qianzhou. It’s impossible that Long Chen would leave. He must be hiding somewhere close to his villa; we just haven’t found him yet."
"Logical deduction. Let’s search again and leave no place unchecked, including the waters of any rivers or lakes," Hua Qingfeng immediately said.
"Wait, I remember now."
At this moment, an elder spoke excitedly, "We passed by Qianling Lake earlier, but we didn’t think to look for Long Chen underwater, so we entirely overlooked that possibility. Now it seems that Long Chen might indeed be hiding beneath the lake, which isn’t far from his villa area."
"It makes sense," Hua Qingfeng said, "Gentlemen, let’s get moving. Head to Qianling Lake, and even if we have to drain the lake, we must find him.
Remember, tonight is our last chance. If we miss it and let Long Chen recover to his peak condition, many of us here may well end up dead at his hands."
"Alliance Hierarch’s words are by no means unfounded. Long Chen’s strength is no less than mine, which means he is in the top five on the Martial King List. Everyone knows what such a master signifies. Gentlemen, let’s move."
Cao Qiu led the way.
A crowd made their way, majestically, to Qianling Lake.
At the bottom of the lake, Long Chen was recovering his Primordial Energy.
Unaware, on the shore, Cao Qiu and the others were discussing how to dive in to search for him.
"Alliance Hierarch, I suggest we send a few with good swimming skills to check first," Cao Qiu said.
"I grew up by the river, I can go down to take a look."
"Count me in."
"I’ll go too."
Subsequently, five people stepped forward, volunteering themselves.
Hua Qingfeng nodded, "Okay, you five dive in then, and be safe."
The five immediately leaped into the lake, swimming towards the bottom.
At the lake’s bottom, Long Chen’s eyes snapped open as he sensed an unusual sound.
After a quick glance, Long Chen quickly found a hidden spot at the lakebed to conceal himself within.
The five men swam rapidly across the lakebed, but they were lucky not to see Long Chen.
’Lucky’ because, had they stumbled upon Long Chen, the outcome would have been a dead end for them, as he would never allow them to do as they wished.
After a few minutes at the bottom of the lake, they reached their limits and quickly surfaced.
"Alliance Hierarch, we found nothing."
"Same here, I didn’t find anything."
"It seems Long Chen is not at the bottom of the lake."
One after another, the five reported back, all without success.
"Perhaps Long Chen is simply not in this small section of the lakebed. He might be hiding in another part of the lake. You lot rest for a moment, and then continue the search."
Hua Qingfeng said seriously.
"What are you waiting for? Get moving."
Cao Qiu barked.
