Chapter 152: Chapter 150 Professional Skills, Not To Be Insulted

"Don’t ’you you you’ me, I gave you a chance, call for backup," Long Chen said indifferently.

He wasn’t at all intimidated by this ostensibly respectable man who actually harbored such sordid thoughts.

"Fine, you just wait and see, don’t run away. In Qianzhou, I’ve never been afraid of anyone," Li Shaochen said through gritted teeth.

He had never been slapped in the face before, and this time, he had been slapped several times.

Unable to swallow his pride, Li Shaochen moved aside to call for reinforcements.

Remaining calm, Long Chen pulled Li Yuechan to sit down and continued drinking coffee.

Li Yuechan was somewhat worried. "Will this blow things out of proportion?"

"It won’t, don’t worry," Long Chen reassured her softly. "Not only am I going to teach this fool a lesson, but I’ll also help you succeed in what you wanted to achieve today. That’s the key point."

"Really can?"

Li Yuechan was skeptical.

In her eyes, Long Chen was a skilled doctor and fighter.

Could it be that Long Chen wanted to subdue his enemies by force?

At this thought, Li Yuechan felt she might be overthinking things.

In today’s world, the law was above all.

Violence wouldn’t solve anything!

Yet Long Chen was not the least bit worried.

It didn’t matter who came; he was confident he could suppress any challenger, making even someone like Li Shaochen submit wholeheartedly.

In the blink of an eye, more than ten minutes passed.

Outside the café, a convoy of more than a dozen black SUVs pulled up.

From each vehicle, over a hundred people clad in suits and wearing sunglasses stepped out, their presence indomitable.

The leader, with his cigar and fiddling with a deck of cards, walked with a swaggered gait, looking rather arrogant.

"Everyone wait outside, remember to be polite and composed, don’t disturb the café’s normal business. Understood?" he called out loudly.

"Understood," the crowd responded in unison, their voices thunderous.

"Good," said the cigar-chewing boss, entering the café with just three others.

"Brother Chen Yang, I’m glad you’ve finally arrived," Li Shaochen hurried over, nodding and bowing.

"Jeez, you seem to have gotten prettier lately," Chen Yang said teasingly as he pinched Li Shaochen’s cheek, his eyes conveying a sly charm.

Li Shaochen shuddered, quickly whispering, "As long as Brother Yang is pleased."

"Haha, of course I’m pleased. We’ll deal with this little nuisance and then you can join me for dinner, how about that?" Chen Yang asked.

Li Shaochen eagerly nodded, "Whatever you say, Brother Yang."

"Who hit you?" Chen Yang’s piercing gaze swept across the café.

Many guests lowered their heads, not daring to meet his eye.

Even the café staff were quite fearful.

This was a show of force many had never seen before.

"Brother Yang, it’s that kid over there," Li Shaochen pointed at Long Chen.

Chen Yang’s gaze fell on Long Chen.

After taking a good look, Chen Yang murmured, "Quite smooth."

Long Chen, feeling a mixture of disgust and bewilderment, wondered, Is this guy some kind of old pervert?

Li Yuechan, seeing Long Chen’s baffled expression, wanted to laugh but couldn’t.

With the overwhelming number of adversaries outside, what were they supposed to do now?

For a moment, she felt regret.

Had she known, she would have insisted on leaving with Long Chen.

"Kid, come here, kowtow ten times and let Li Shaochen slap you ten times, and we’ll call it even. How’s that?"

Chen Yang hooked his finger.

Then, he continued playing with the deck of cards, his movements swift, performing some fancy flourishes that were quite pleasing to the eye.

Long Chen took a deep breath and restrained the urge to beat Chen Yang to a pulp, saying indifferently, "The way you play cards is as ugly as sin, lousy and yet you pretend to be an expert."

"Huh?"

Chen Yang was taken aback.

Then, he couldn’t help bursting into laughter, "Ha-ha, boy, you probably don’t know that in the jianghu, I’m revered as the Qianzhou Gambling Immortal. Do you actually dare to challenge my card skills?"

"Gambling Immortal? Don’t you blush when you say that?"

Long Chen remained unfazed.

Chen Yang got excited, his pride was his card playing, and it was not to be insulted.

"Listen up, kid. Since you’re so arrogant, I’ll compete with you. If you lose, you’ll either be missing an arm or a leg today, and not even an Immortal could save you.

If you win, then I’ll worship you as my master, and I’ll do whatever you ask of me,"

Chen Yang exclaimed loudly.

"Agreed, what’s the method of competition?" Long Chen asked with a smile.

"Don’t say I’m bullying you, we’ll compete in two rounds. Each round will be in a different style. As for the specifics, you decide,"

Chen Yang said disdainfully.

He had never feared anyone in card playing.

"Let’s have you set the rules. You decide, and I’ll comply," Long Chen said with a smile, utterly relaxed, without a hint of nervousness.

"If I’m to set the rules, then I’ll need a moment to think."

Chen Yang frowned in thought.

"Bro Yang, why waste time with him? In my opinion, just deal with him first, and then..."

"Shut your mouth, is it your place to speak?"

Chen Yang snapped, "It’s my professional skill that’s been challenged here. Do you understand? My professional skill cannot be insulted."

"Understood... Bro Yang, please proceed. You’ll definitely crush this kid,"

Li Shaochen quickly added.

He didn’t dare provoke Chen Yang.

Chen Yang, after all, was a kingpin of the Qianzhou underground world. In Qianzhou, anyone who knew even a bit about him respected Chen Yang considerably.

After pondering for a while, Chen Yang said to Long Chen, "Alright, for the first round we’ll draw cards at random to compare sizes. We’ll play three times for the first round, best two out of three.

The second round will be a game of Texas Hold’em, three games as well."

"Sure, then let’s begin."

Long Chen said with a faint smile.

"Pleasantly straightforward."

Chen Yang sat down, shuffled the cards quickly three times, and passed them to Long Chen to shuffle.

Long Chen waved his hand, saying with a smile, "I won’t shuffle."

"Are you sure?"

Chen Yang eyed Long Chen.

"Positive."

"That’s fine then."

Chen Yang tossed the deck onto the table, "You draw first."

"You first," said Long Chen.

"Fine."

Chen Yang reached out and seemingly casually drew a card.

He looked at it, and his smile blossomed. Reversing the card and tossing it onto the table, he said, "I’ve drawn a spade king. I don’t believe you can just happen to draw an ace or a joker."

"That’s not necessarily true," Long Chen said with a smile. "There are four aces and two jokers left in the deck. The chances of drawing one of them are pretty good."

As he spoke, Long Chen stretched out his hand and drew a card from the middle of the deck.

"Anybody can boast. But go on, show us what you’ve got."

Chen Yang took a deep drag from a thick cigar, puffed out smoke, looking content and cocky.

Long Chen didn’t look at his card, instead he placed it on the table and turned to Li Yuechan beside him, "Wife, you have better luck. Help me flip this card."

"Can... can I do it?"

Li Yuechan was very nervous.

"You can, trust me."

Long Chen spoke softly.

"I’ll... I’ll try."

Li Yuechan’s hands trembled nervously as she flipped over the card Long Chen had drawn from the table.
