The Rise of Dragon Son-in-Law -
Chapter 135 - 133: Seeing Long’er Again
Chapter 135: Chapter 133: Seeing Long’er Again
Li Yuechan hung up the phone and quickly rushed home.
Entering the living room, she saw Long Chen busy in the kitchen.
"Long Chen, come out here,"
Li Yuechan called out.
"Just the last dish to go, almost done," Long Chen replied.
Seeing this, Li Yuechan ran into the kitchen, glaring at Long Chen, "Borrowing so much money, what if we can’t make it work and lose everything? Unable to pay back such an amount could cost us our lives."
"It won’t come to that," Long Chen said with a laugh, "A few billion is small potatoes, and even if we lost it, it wouldn’t matter. With me around, the sky won’t fall. Go ahead with boldness and confidence in your ventures. I’ll always be your strongest support, and I believe you can surely carve out your own realm."
"Hubby, thank you for giving me this opportunity."
Li Yuechan, tears streaming down her face, threw herself into Long Chen’s arms.
"Stop it, I’m all greasy from cooking. Go wait for me in the living room," Long Chen said softly.
"I don’t mind. You go to the living room, I’ll do the cooking,"
suggested Li Yuechan.
"Then let’s cook together,"
Long Chen pinched Li Yuechan’s ample behind.
"Stop it; Unrivaled is watching."
"The little girl doesn’t understand a thing."
"Only you still think of her as a little girl. Let me tell you, girls at eight or nine know a lot these days. Behave yourself in front of the child."
"Got it."
...
That evening, after dinner, Li Yuechan shared her thoughts with Zhao Churan.
Zhao Churan was very supportive and chuckled, "Long Chen, that rascal, is thinking of being the hands-off manager with you. Have you thought of a name for the company yet?"
"Not yet," said Li Yuechan.
"I just had a sudden idea, what do you think about Chenyue Film and Television?"
Zhao Churan asked with a smile.
"Chenyue Film and Television, hmm, sounds pretty good," Li Yuechan, hugging Zhao Churan’s arm, laughed, "Churan is always good at coming up with names."
"Of course, Yuechan, I’m thrilled at the idea of you starting out on your own. Just say the word if you need any help; I will support you even if it means spending my last penny,"
Zhao Churan patted her chest confidently.
Those words deeply moved Li Yuechan, her eyes welling up, "Churan, I hope we can both succeed, reach the summit, and be happy together forever."
"That’s for sure, although you seem to have missed out on some happiness."
Zhao Churan’s lips curved into a sly smile, leaving her sentence unfinished.
"What do you mean?"
Li Yuechan was puzzled.
"You know, the thing..."
She whispered a couple of words into Li Yuechan’s ear.
Li Yuechan’s cheeks flushed red, "You’re such a bad egg, always talking nonsense. You can keep him company tonight, I’m giving him to you. I need to carefully plan out the future."
Having said that, Li Yuechan got up to go upstairs.
"Hey hey hey, are you sure you won’t reconsider?"
"You can have him first."
Li Yuechan waved her hand without turning back.
Long Chen smiled and said, "Let her be. I reckon before the company gets on the right track, she won’t think about doing what you were just suggesting. That’s just the way she is, very career-minded."
"Fine, then it looks like you’ll just have to suffer through sleeping with me tonight,"
Zhao Churan feigned a sigh.
"I can sleep by myself," Long Chen said with a smile.
"I dare you."
Zhao Churan’s eyes suddenly turned fierce.
"Unrivaled, please wash the dishes and then head off to bed. Remember to get up early to train tomorrow and then continue following your sister Yuechan, got it?"
Long Chen instructed Unrivaled.
Unrivaled mumbled a reluctant reply, her mouth full.
"What’s the matter? Not happy?"
Long Chen pinched Unrivaled’s cheek, "You know, girls should learn a lot, including housework."
"So, what will you and Zhao Churan be doing?"
Little Unrivaled asked.
"Uh, I need to discuss the origin of life with her," Long Chen said.
Zhao Churan’s face flushed with a racing heart. The origin of life, really? Spouting such nonsense.
"Brother Chen, I want to study that with you too."
Unrivaled looked at Long Chen with pitiful eyes.
Long Chen chuckled awkwardly, "You can’t do that yet, let’s talk about it after you turn eighteen."
"Why wait so long?"
"Because..."
Ding.
Long Chen’s sentence was cut short by the sound of his cell phone alert.
Glancing at the screen, it was a strange text message: "We agreed on meeting at the entrance of Qianzhou Park at 9 A.M. It’s now 9 P.M., and you’re still nowhere to be seen. Do you really want me to cut you?"
As he read this message, Long Chen suddenly remembered that he indeed had missed the appointment.
He didn’t know who sent the message, but the tone suggested it was someone he had been very familiar with in the past.
After a moment of thought, Long Chen felt that, no matter what, he needed to get to the bottom of it.
With this on his mind, Long Chen said to Zhao Churan, "I have to step out for a bit to meet someone. I’ll try to come back tonight to keep you company. If I can’t make it, just go to sleep on your own, okay?"
"Mhm, go ahead, and be safe."
Zhao Churan spoke softly.
"Alright."
Long Chen kissed Zhao Churan’s cheek before turning and leaving.
...
About fifteen minutes later, Long Chen arrived at the main entrance of Qianzhou Park.
The park was still crowded at this time.
Standing amidst the sea of people, Long Chen messaged the unknown number: "Where are you?"
Ding.
Long Chen quickly received a reply: "I don’t want to deal with you anymore. You bastard, you made me wait all day."
Long Chen was not pleased when he saw the message.
"Damn, I came here as a favor to you, and you don’t want to deal with me anymore? Fine, whatever. Goodbye."
Long Chen couldn’t be bothered to reply and planned to go home.
"Did you mean what you said just now?"
An extremely cold voice abruptly rang out behind Long Chen.
Long Chen’s body stiffened instantly.
He felt the chill of a dagger pressed against his back.
At the same time, Long Chen recognized who was behind him.
It was the granddaughter of the Dragon Palace Hall Master, Long’er!
"Long’er, I didn’t expect it to be you. If I had known it was you, I would have rushed over immediately, without making you wait."
Long Chen offered a sheepish smile.
"Really? Why do I find that so hard to believe?"
Long’er withdrew the dagger.
Long Chen slowly turned around to look at Long’er.
She was as captivating as ever, sporting a high ponytail and a mix of charm and valiance in her stature.
"Long’er, what brings you here all of a sudden? Do you have a mission?" Long Chen asked curiously.
At his words, Long’er got annoyed: "Can’t I just miss you and come to see you?"
"Of course, you can come to see me. I just mean that if you have a mission, I can help you."
Long Chen chuckled awkwardly.
He was somewhat wary of Long’er.
Whenever this girl went wild, he wasn’t sure if he could keep her in check.
"Hmph, stop babbling nonsense. I’ve been waiting for you all day, so you have to take me mountain climbing."
"It’s already dark; what mountain are you planning to climb? Why don’t we just get a hotel room?"
"Hotel rooms are so boring. I like mountain climbing, going into the mountains," Long’er pouted.
"There are cameras all over the mountains. Aren’t you afraid?"
Long’er paused, then burst into laughter: "The mighty Young Palace Master of the Dragon Palace afraid of a few cameras?"
Long Chen smiled faintly, "If you’re not afraid, then I’m willing to risk my life to accompany a gentleman."
"Ptui, you big scoundrel, treating me like a gentleman? Just wait and see how I deal with you later. Let’s go, to the mountains."
