Chapter 70: Chapter 70: All for Naught

"An Yan, how could you hit a classmate?"

"You’ve gone too far! Look how swollen Xu Muwei’s face is."

"We’re going to report you to the Student Union!"

"Quick, take a picture to submit for Student Union arbitration!"

An Yan laughed. "Is it okay for Xu Muwei to use a snake to scare my deskmate, but a problem when I hit Xu Muwei, right? If that’s the case..."

An Yan thrust the snake she was holding directly onto the boy’s face.

The male student screamed in terror, "AH—, what are you doing? An Yan, you’ve gone too far!"

An Yan slapped him across the face. "Gone too far? When you all were doing this to my deskmate just now, you didn’t say it was too far, did you? Don’t be such hypocrites!"

"I didn’t thrust a snake onto Mu Enyu’s face! Are you blaming me because she’s timid?" the boy cried, clutching his face, feigning injury.

"That makes sense!"

An Yan let go, tossing the snake down at his feet.

Once free, the snake quickly slithered away.

The boy screamed and leaped onto a desk!

The classroom erupted into wails and howls.

People scrambled onto chairs and desks; everywhere was packed, except for the floor.

That was a venomous snake! Aaaah...

In the chaos, An Yan indiscriminately sprinkled something onto Xu Muwei and her cronies.

Then, the snake suddenly turned its head and, as if possessed, started chasing Xu Muwei and her group!

Even climbing onto desks was no use because the snake could climb up too.

"AAAAHHH—"

"Xu Muwei, hurry up and catch your snake!"

"Xu Muwei, why are you hiding? Isn’t it your pet?"

Would Xu Muwei dare *not* to hide?

The snake was hers, but that was when it was docile and obedient.

Now, the environment was noisy, and the snake had just been squeezed at its vital spot. It was clearly enraged and attacking indiscriminately!

The snake chased Xu Muwei all the way to a trash can.

Xu Muwei, quite the character, grabbed the trash can and tried to slam it over the snake, but who knew the snake would suddenly leap up.

Xu Muwei panicked, the trash can in her hand flipped, and she ended up putting it over her own head.

To make matters worse, it was filled with someone’s discarded yogurt, fruit peels, and sunflower seed shells, which instantly coated her.

Just then, the Green Snake bit her on the butt!

Mu Enyu couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

"Serves you right!"

After biting Xu Muwei, the snake turned its attention to her companions.

The other students also realized something. Though they still stayed on the desks, not daring to come down, they were visibly more composed.

"Did the snake turn on its owner? Why is it only chasing and biting them?"

"I think Xu Muwei must have abused it. Now that it’s free, it’s taking revenge!"

"Exactly! All beings have spirits. My grandma says snakes are the most spiritual animals. Where I’m from, such spirits are even called ’Great Immortals’!"

"..."

"An Yan, was it you?"

Xu Muwei finally came to her senses.

"Did you do something?"

An Yan, looking perfectly innocent, said, "What could I have done? Is the snake mine? No, it’s yours!"

"Xu Muwei, hurry up and catch your snake."

Her companions were chased into a wretched state!

"An Yan, you catch it! Didn’t you just grab it by its vital spot? Hurry up!"

Xu Muwei, lacking the ability to catch the snake herself, tried to pressure An Yan into doing it.

An Yan said, "Alright. Apologize to Mu Enyu and swear you’ll never bully her again, and I’ll help you catch the snake!"

Those spineless few immediately bowed. "We’re sorry, Mu Enyu!"

Mu Enyu hurriedly said to An Yan, "They wanted our thesis, and when I refused to give it to them, they released the snake to scare me!"

An Yan instantly understood their intentions. "So that’s what this is about. I originally thought that if you lost, just getting kicked out of Class One would be sufficient. But now, I think all of you should be expelled from this university!"

"Let’s raise the stakes. If we lose, Mu Enyu and I will leave Luocheng University! If you lose, your entire group will be expelled from Luocheng University!"

"Agree to this, and I’ll help you catch the snake!"

An Yan swept her cold gaze over them.

Such scum don’t deserve to practice medicine!

Leaving Luocheng University’s School of Medicine would effectively end their medical careers!

Several of them were reluctant to agree. However, a venomous snake was still chasing them, and Xu Muwei appeared to be succumbing to the venom; she was staggering and on the verge of fainting. They had to make a choice.

Compared to their lives, anything was negotiable.

"Fine, we agree! Just catch it quickly!"

Only then did An Yan approach the venomous snake.

What should have been a task requiring only a flick of her finger, she deliberately made it seem fraught with peril.

After a strenuous game of chase, setting traps, outwitting her opponents, and successfully slapping each of the three remaining male students, knocking out three of their teeth in the process, An Yan finally managed to get the snake back into its glass box.

The four male students, who had been chased by the snake nearly to the brink of death and had also received a slap from An Yan, collapsed on the ground, gasping wildly without any regard for their image.

An Yan was just wondering why Chen Xiangyu wasn’t there when he pushed open the door and walked in.

Before she could think of an excuse to slap him, Chen Xiangyu picked up Xu Muwei, ready to take her to the infirmary.

An Yan stopped him with a hand. "Wait, I have a first-aid method."

Chen Xiangyu’s face lit up. "What method? Tell me quickly."

An Yan said, "This is a Seven-step Snake. After one bite, you can walk seven steps before the venom takes effect. I just observed Xu Muwei walk at least a hundred steps!"

"Think about it: one bite allows for seven steps; another bite, another seven steps. So, if you all hold her down, I’ll let the snake bite her ten or twenty more times. I reckon she’ll be able to walk to the infirmary on her own then."

Everyone: "..."

Chen Xiangyu’s face turned dark with anger, and he turned and stormed off!

Peals of laughter followed him!

Mu Enyu’s face flushed. "Thank you!"

An Yan reached out and ruffled Mu Enyu’s hair. "You’re welcome."

After speaking, she ruffled it some more!

Hmm. She finally understood why Li Tianyao loved to ruffle her head; it felt so good to the touch.

"You were protecting our thesis earlier! It was only right for me to help you."

An Yan sat down, relaxed, and started checking the status of the branches in her mind.

But... what was going on? She had slapped five people, yet Yezi hadn’t sprouted a single new leaf!

Could she have been mistaken? Did these people not yet qualify as scum?

Or perhaps the slaps only had an effect *after* they had truly wronged someone?

As she was pondering this, the teacher arrived. An Yan quickly composed herself and focused on the lecture.

Listening to the teacher lecture was different from self-study and independent comprehension. People naturally have preferences and tend to delve deeper into topics that interest them.

However, the teacher’s lectures were comprehensive, perfectly filling in knowledge gaps that might otherwise be overlooked or ignored due to personal preference.

After class, An Yan went to her exclusive laboratory.

She first took out Li Tianyao’s blood sample and added a drop to a pre-prepared solution.

After observing its reaction with a dozen different solutions, An Yan made an unexpected discovery: Li Tianyao’s blood was different from that of a normal person.

She stared at the instrument before her, dumbfounded, strongly suspecting it was malfunctioning—
