Chapter 50: Chapter 50 He doesn’t look like a good person
Under the nearby tree shade, in front of the black Bugatti, stood a tall, dark figure.
The dim light from the streetlamp only revealed a rough outline.
An Yan knew that it was Li Tianyao.
Just as she was about to approach, Su Siming reached out, trying to grab her arm. "Don’t go, he doesn’t look like a good guy!"
An Yan deftly turned her body, avoiding his touch!
But the next second, she found that Liang Chen had somehow blocked her way.
From the shadows, Li Tianyao stepped forward, the light illuminating him fully, inch by inch.
Straight legs, a lean waist, broad shoulders, and features so exquisite they were breathtaking.
His stride was regal and leisurely, yet as he drew closer, everyone clearly felt an overwhelming presence.
Liang Chen instinctively puffed out his chest as though only by doing so could he withstand the pressure emanating from the other man.
Su Siming even took a few uncontrollable steps back, increasing the distance between himself and An Yan.
That man’s aura is so strong!
Mu Enyu’s eyes widened in shock. "So handsome! An Yan, who is he?"
An Yan watched Li Tianyao approaching and walked forward to meet him. "My fiancé!"
At least until he initiates a breakup, I must always remember this status.
A shock ran through Su Siming’s mind. Fiancé?
"Why do all the good girls turn out to be taken?" Su Siming grabbed Liang Chen’s arm. "Damn it! Have I experienced a breakup before even starting a relationship?"
Before meeting An Yan, I thought there wasn’t a girl in the world who didn’t love me. After meeting An Yan, it was no problem; if she didn’t love me, I could love her. But now, damn it! My girl was snatched away before I even met her! So infuriating!
Liang Chen slapped him on the back of his head. "Don’t talk nonsense!"
That man’s presence was simply beyond their comparison. If the man was petty, Su Siming’s words could bring trouble upon him!
"They look so good together." Mu Enyu had stars in her eyes.
When the man extended his hand, An Yan voluntarily placed hers into his palm.
It was clear they had performed this gesture many times before.
Doting, yet natural.
An Yan’s hand was enveloped by Li Tianyao’s large palm.
The warm touch made her feel genuinely uncomfortable.
But she didn’t move and let him lead her obediently.
As soon as she got into the car, An Yan saw a bag of snacks. "For me?"
"Mhm!"
The man, looking down, fingered the Buddha beads on his wrist, his voice indifferent.
An Yan tilted her head to look at him. "What is it?"
The man turned, his long fingers caressing her chin. "Little girl, I’ve told you to keep your distance from other men!"
An Yan frowned. "They’re my classmates."
"So what?"
An Yan pondered for a moment, then said, "Li Tianyao, you actually lack confidence, don’t you?"
"What did you say?"
"I said you’re not confident. You think every man can outshine you, that’s why you’re so nervous!"
"Heh."
The man chuckled lightly, his voice cold as he said, "Little girl, are you starting to play mind games with me again? If you insist on it, go ahead and interact with them!"
Though the man’s tone had little fluctuation, An Yan heard a chilling coldness in his voice.
"What do you want to do?"
"If I can’t control you, then I’ll just have to control others!"
An Yan was at a loss for words, her mind rapidly filling with various legends about Li Tianyao—how ruthless and mad he supposedly was.
After a moment, she compromised. "Don’t bother. I’ll add male classmates to the no-contact list from now on!"
At least until their amicable breakup, she would try not to redirect his anger onto others.
Their problems should be resolved between the two of them.
"Good girl!"
The man’s large hand caressed her head, and his voice regained its gentleness. "Hungry? What do you want to eat?"
An Yan was still struggling to transition her emotions. She remained silent for a while, then said, "I’m not hungry. Just take me somewhere first, if it’s not too much trouble!"
"Where to?"
An Yan didn’t really want to talk to him; she lifted her phone and showed him the address.
"What are you going to do?"
"Pick something up."
An Shimeng didn’t know her phone had a location service that embedded location information into photos when they were taken.
「Half an hour later.」
An Yan arrived at an urban village.
The whole village was made up of buildings ranging from three to five stories high, and the main road was just wide enough to allow two cars to pass side by side.
The alley she needed to go down, however, was especially narrow; no car could get through.
An Yan simply got out of the car. "I’ll go take a look. I can’t say how long I’ll be. Just have Wen Ya wait for me here!"
"I’ll come with you."
Li Tianyao followed suit.
The narrow, winding street stretched ahead, its depths cloaked in unending darkness.
An Yan instinctively tensed up and heightened her alertness.
It wasn’t that she was afraid. It was just an innate wariness of the unknown.
Her fingertip warmed as Li Tianyao’s hand took hers.
An Yan looked down at the hand holding hers, frowning slightly.
"WOOF!"
A dog, belonging to who knows whom, suddenly charged out.
The motion-sensing lights outside several nearby houses lit up simultaneously.
It was a large black dog, its fur glinting under the light, its eyes fierce and terrifying as it rushed toward them.
An Yan’s fingers tensed as she readied herself in a fighting stance.
The next moment, Li Tianyao shielded her behind him. "Don’t be afraid. It won’t come any closer!"
Is this dog yours? You say it won’t come closer, and it just won’t? An Yan scoffed inwardly.
Unexpectedly, when the dog got within two meters of them, it really did stop in its tracks.
As if it had seen a formidable natural enemy, it made pitiful whimpering sounds, appearing to beg for mercy as it retreated step by step.
An Yan watched this scene with surprise. "Why is it afraid of you?"
Li Tianyao said, "I killed dogs when I was a child. A lot of them."
Those had been extremely brutal days.
Gu Shifang had thrown him, along with a dozen other children, into a pack of feral dogs—with no food or water.
They were hungry, but the dogs were even hungrier.
As soon as they were thrown in, the dogs had gone mad, desperately biting at them.
In the end, only he survived.
Since then, whenever dogs saw him, they all acted like this.
"Did you learn your skills by practicing against dogs?"
"Sort of."
An Yan tilted her head to look at him, her brows tightly knitted.
Training in Ancient Martial Arts is tough. Mine was honed through sparring with Grandfather, blow by blow. Grandfather told me that it’s best to practice Ancient Martial Arts against animals; the more ferocious the animal, the more it can improve one’s reaction speed and strength. It’s just that sparring with animals always entails life-threatening risks!
"Apart from dogs, have you sparred with other animals?"
"Mhm. Wolves, tigers, leopards. All of them."
An Yan was shocked, instinctively reaching out to feel his pulse.
