Chapter 780: Chapter 758 Timing Is Not Right (2)_1
Situ Xin, accompanied by Xiao Muli and Baibai, arrived at the Xiao Family Old Mansion by car, where Butler Uncle Zhong, along with others, had been waiting at the entrance for quite some time.
When Uncle Zhong saw Xiao Muli get out of the car and then turn around to help Situ Xin, who was holding Baibai, out of the car, his face bloomed into a wide smile. He had grown up with Old Master Xiao and they were very close, and he had also watched Xiao Muli grow up, regarding him as his own grandson.
Therefore, when he learned of Xiao Muli’s feelings for Situ Xin, he had been eagerly looking forward to the day Xiao Muli would win her over. And now, in Uncle Zhong’s eyes, cooked rice had finally turned into a cooked meal—it was a good omen indeed.
"Family Head, I have had someone clean your room afresh. You and Miss Situ should go rest first. The food will be ready shortly," he said.
Situ Xin, seeing Uncle Zhong smiling like a Maitreya Buddha, knew that he must have heard about last night’s events. She was naturally shy about such matters, and just like that, her face unconsciously reddened.
Situ Xin smiled, but with a touch of playful annoyance, she reached out and pinched Xiao Muli hard on the waist.
Xiao Muli momentarily stiffened from Situ Xin’s sudden action. However, he quickly regained his composure.
But, leaning close to Situ Xin’s ear, he whispered, "Baby, don’t you know a man’s waist should not be pinched so casually? It could lead to something more, hmm?" His voice, though soft, was completely different from his usual cold tone, carrying a trace of seduction that left Situ Xin frozen.
The implication of Xiao Muli’s words was not lost on Situ Xin. Her grip on his waist loosened instantly, as she was scared that she might actually provoke Xiao Muli to revert to his primal instincts. Recollecting the frenzy of last night, Situ Xin still felt a lingering fear, especially the initial pain that had somewhat terrified her.
"Uncle Zhong, thank you. I’ll take Xiao Xin to rest first. When the dishes are ready, have someone bring them directly to my room," Xiao Muli said, teasing Situ Xin just enough. He also sensed that she might have some reservations about last night, so he knew better than to rush things for the sake of their future happiness.
"Understood," Uncle Zhong replied. Then, remembering a phone call he had received that morning, he continued, "Oh, Family Head, I forgot to mention, your grandfather called this morning, and I answered. He asked if anything had happened to you. I told him the truth. He also mentioned Miss Situ, it seems her family is quite concerned about Miss Situ Xin."
Uncle Zhong, wiser than to reveal to Situ Xin and the others Old Master Xiao’s delight over the phone, kept it to himself.
"Oh, my phone is still turned off," Situ Xin recalled upon hearing Uncle Zhong’s words and realized her family must be worried sick. Remembering this, she reached for her phone in her bag.
Seeing Situ Xin fidgeting in his arms, Xiao Muli tightened his hold and said, "Baby, stop searching for it now, you can look for your phone once we’re in your room. Besides, I think Grandpa Situ and the others already know your situation from my grandfather, so there’s no need to worry."
His words reminded Situ Xin that if Grandpa Xiao had called the Xiao Family Old Mansion, it would have been at the behest of her family. With this realization, Situ Xin calmed down.
Once Situ Xin stopped fiddling, Xiao Muli signaled to Uncle Zhong and carried Situ Xin towards the main entrance. As they walked, Xiao Muli asked, "Baby, how do you plan to explain this to your grandfather, your maternal grandfather?" He posed the question tactfully because what he really wanted to inquire was whether Situ Xin would tell her family that they had already been intimate.
Although Xiao Muli didn’t ask directly, Situ Xin knew exactly what he was implying. She looked up at Xiao Muli and, instead of answering his question, she countered, "And what about you? How would you like me to explain it?"
