Chapter 775: Chapter 753 Baby, It’s All My Fault_1

Old Master Loo, however, couldn’t get through to Situ Xin’s phone, which was consistently switched off. This escalated the anxiety for the two Old Masters and Old Madams. Old Master Situ and Old Madam Situ, with their impulsive tempers, nearly had the security staff prepare the vehicle to rush directly to the Xiao Family Old Mansion when they couldn’t get through to Situ Xin. It was Old Master Loo and Old Madam Loo who remained calm and stopped Old Master Situ and Old Madam Situ from taking such drastic action.

Old Master Loo then called Xiao Muli, but his phone was also switched off—not intentionally but because the battery had died. Failing to reach Situ Xin and Xiao Muli, Old Master Loo and Old Madam Loo also started to feel anxious. Luckily, despite their anxiety, they were still clear-headed.

Old Master Loo dialed the Xiao Family’s phone, and this time the call finally connected; it wasn’t their infuriatingly mechanical female voice saying, "Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off." However, these two elder couples had truly panicked—they forgot they were calling a landline, which cannot be switched off, only busy.

Regardless, Old Master Xiao’s call did go through, and upon receiving a call from Old Master Loo and Old Master Situ, he quickly arrived at the Situ Family’s residence and made a call to the Xiao Family Old Mansion in front of everyone.

The call to the Xiao Family Old Mansion was picked up by the Xiao Family Butler, Uncle Zhong. Old Master Xiao didn’t bother with small talk or reminiscing; with four pairs of eyes fixed on him, even if he wanted to exchange pleasantries, those words could not find their way past his throat.

Old Master Xiao directly asked Uncle Zhong, what happened to Xiao Muli?

Uncle Zhong didn’t hide anything from Old Master Xiao and relayed what he knew about the events of the previous night.

When Old Master Xiao initially heard that someone had slipped his grandson a love potion, he was furious, wanting nothing more than to go there and castrate the scoundrel who dared to drug his grandson. However, when he learned that Xiao Muli and Situ Xin might have furthered their relationship because of the love potion, his rage extinguished instantly.

He inwardly exclaimed, "Well done, the drug was administered just right." Of course it was right; his precious great-granddaughter might already be in Situ Xin’s belly by now.

Old Master Xiao was a cunning man; during the phone call, his facial expressions shifted rapidly. However, he only responded simply with acknowledgments like "hmm" and "ah," not revealing a single word about how things had developed.

So, when Old Master Xiao finished the call with the Xiao Family Butler, Uncle Zhong, the two Old Masters and Old Madams were still clueless about what had transpired with Xiao Muli, based on the sparse words exchanged during the call.

"Old Xiao, what exactly happened to Muli? Where are they now? Is my baby alright?" In the end, it was Old Master Situ who couldn’t hold back, and as soon as Old Master Xiao hung up the phone, he eagerly asked.

However, the other three were not much better; as Old Master Situ asked, they nodded and echoed his questions.

"Baby and Muli are both fine. It was just a minor incident at the Xiao Family Ancestral House, and it has been dealt with. They’ll probably be back tomorrow," Old Master Xiao replied. Although he was happy about the advance in his grandson’s relationship with Situ Xin, he knew well that if he told the whole story now, the four people before him would certainly explode with fury and then rush to the Xiao Family Ancestral House right away. The outcome would be unpredictable at that point.

Old Master Xiao felt that he couldn’t handle this matter himself; it had to be dealt with by Situ Xin. After all, the four people before him only ever completely let their guard down in Situ Xin’s presence.

The two Old Masters and Old Madams could finally relax after hearing that everything was alright, but deep down, the Old Masters already had their own plans. They thought since they couldn’t change their granddaughter-in-law’s choice, they needed to find a way to reform Xiao Muli into someone more suitable for their precious granddaughter.

Situ Xin had a sweet sleep, and when she opened her eyes, the sun was already setting.

As Situ Xin woke up and opened her eyes, there was a moment when she couldn’t comprehend her situation. However, as she gazed at the room and remembered the scenes from last night, she snapped fully awake.

Situ Xin couldn’t help but blush at the thought of the intensity of last night’s encounter with Xiao Muli. The next second, something crossed her mind, and she hurriedly lifted a small corner of her blanket. When she saw that she was wearing pajamas, she didn’t know whether to be relieved or to blush even more; Xiao Muli had actually helped her put on her pajamas.

As she turned her head and caught a glimpse of that familiar sleepy face beside her, she wished she could leap out of bed and flee from this place that made her cheeks turn red and her heart race.

However, Situ Xin’s subconscious movement, a slight shift of her body, caused the loose hand that Xiao Muli had draped around her waist to tighten. Xiao Muli, too, slowly opened his bleary eyes, "Hmm? Baby, you’re awake."

The moment Situ Xin saw Xiao Muli open his eyes, she wanted nothing more than to hide under the blanket. After enduring last night’s heart-racing exercise, she wasn’t fully prepared to face Xiao Muli.

Keep in mind that last night, Xiao Muli had been drugged and wasn’t in his right mind, whereas she, Situ Xin, had been completely sober when their relationship took place. This made Situ Xin’s heart feel awkward and shy. Nonetheless, Situ Xin managed not to hide under the blanket but looked over at Xiao Muli, trying to maintain composure. She intended to gauge Xiao Muli’s expression but unintentionally caught sight of his bare, toned chest under the blanket - even catching a glimpse of his defined abs. Seeing this made Situ Xin’s face turn even redder, and she quickly averted her eyes, saying, "Yeah, I’m awake. You’re awake too, right? Then let’s get up quickly. I’m hungry." Situ Xin wanted to swiftly change the subject and escape this embarrassing setting.

But this time, Xiao Muli wasn’t going to let Situ Xin have her way. Although he felt a twinge of pain when he heard her claim to be hungry—after being wrung out by him all night and then sleeping through the day without eating a thing—he found Situ Xin’s shy but feigned indifference amusing and couldn’t resist teasing her to see more expressions on her face.

"Hehe, Baby is hungry? I’ll have someone bring the food over in a moment," Xiao Muli didn’t lessen the hold of his arm around Situ Xin’s waist in the slightest, making sure she stayed in bed with him.

"Cough, no need. I can go down and eat by myself," Situ Xin did not want to stay in this room with Xiao Muli any longer, the room where her first time had just ended. The atmosphere in the room made Situ Xin feel awkward and spontaneously quickened her heartbeat.

"Baby, why don’t you look at me when you talk? Are you feeling shy? Huh?" Xiao Muli couldn’t help but tease her, "Plus, with your current condition, I really don’t think you’re fit to go downstairs to eat."

"I’m not shy. I just don’t want to look at you, that’s all. And why am I not fit to go downstairs and eat?" Upon hearing Xiao Muli’s comment, Situ Xin busily turned to him, her face filled with defiance.

Xiao Muli, enjoying the sight of Situ Xin’s delicate face, couldn’t help but lean in to give a light kiss on the corner of her lips, then said, "Baby, if you don’t believe what I’m saying, you can try standing up now to see if you can walk normally."

As soon as Xiao Muli said this, Situ Xin understood what he meant, and she was astonished that he would speak so bluntly. She glared at him with inflated indignation and said, "Hmph, I’ll try. I refuse to believe I can’t walk on my own."

Having said that, Situ Xin pushed away Xiao Muli’s hand that was resting on her and this time, Xiao Muli cooperated by withdrawing his hand.

After removing Xiao Muli’s hand, Situ Xin flipped the blanket away and was about to get out of bed. Xiao Muli, concerned, quickly sat up.

As soon as Situ Xin set her feet on the ground, she tried to stand up as usual. But before she was fully upright, her legs gave in and she nearly fell. Fortunately, Xiao Muli was prepared and caught her by the waist. Then, teasingly whispering in her ear, he said, "Baby, you see, still don’t believe me? There, you almost fell over, didn’t you?"

Xiao Muli’s words left Situ Xin’s face burning with anger, or perhaps embarrassment, "You, Xiao Muli you..."

Xiao Muli did enjoy seeing Situ Xin stamp her feet in frustration, looking adorable, but he knew when to stop, as pushing too far could backfire. Therefore, when Situ Xin was fuming, he hurriedly tried to appease her, "Alright, Baby, it’s all my fault. Don’t get so upset that you hurt yourself. I’ll call and have them bring up the meal now."

As Xiao Muli spoke, Situ Xin’s stomach coincidentally growled in response.
